A lovely hotel with great staff, needs a bit of updating, and to go back to fresh made breakfasts.
Lawlors Hotel is a nice enough hotel. My family are local and I am very familiar with the Hotel. The room was lovely. Clean and the bed was comfortable. Great views over Dungarvan and the old bridge. Location is fab right in the town centre and parking is at the back of the hotel. The staff are lovely, really friendly and they try hard to please.
The hotel is dated. Some furniture definitely has seen better days, (bith in the room and the bar). The room was lovely but really warm but I could open windows so all good. The tea and coffee facilities would have been perfect with a little biscuit. The food wasn't great and probably our biggest disappointment. The breakfast was a buffet style, bacon, mushrooms, sausages, eggs scrambled and fried, plus bread etc. Other than the sausages (which were really lovely) everything is so dry, there was no baked beans or anything to put moisture in the food. Then in the evening, in the bar, we ordered food. I ordered seafood chowder, it just tasted of melted butter and there wasn't an awful lot of seafood and the brown bread that went with it was so dry! I thought Lawlors always had a great reputation for good food, so I was a little disappointed.

Comfortable
Great location. Friendly staff. Price on Booking.com was cheaper that a phone in price which I found strange. Good to have an FOC carpark at the rear of the hotel.
Only negative I had was the breakfast. Only 5 in the breakfast room so order was process quickly and delivered quickly. Bacon was really crispy (like well crispy) and the hash brown that should be crispy to touch and taste was soggy - like oily soggy.

Central to Dungarvan
Room was small but comfortable and the shower was great. Twin room
It's probably in need of a good paint job and a few new carpets but it's not too bad

Would definitely stay again.
The hotel was very clean, warm, comfortable, the food was very good and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Decor is a little dated. The corridors and carpets could do with a face lift.

Please see above . I would love to stay again for the positives
The bedroom & bathroom were spotless. I was truly impressed. But the public ladies toilet downstairs was honestly so disappointing. I
Could hardly breath with the strong odour of stagnant water or something else 🙈 The carpet really needs to be updated downstairs and a good refurbish. The guy on duty when we were checking in wasn’t too pleasant either. I honestly don’t think he wanted to be there at all.
Overall , location is ideal for the town. We were there for an event that was happening this weekend and it was perfect. I would like to stay again but maybe just do a refurb in places. When checking out today, the girl on reception was lovely & staff in bar last night were mannerly
The outdated carpets and public toilets

Other options??
Room so hot we could not sleep. Open window meant street noise kept us awake. Management reactive rather than proactive.

Pleasant stay staff great.
Standard breakfast. Very efficient and pleasant lady serving in room
Have stayed several times in Lawlors. Staff are friendly and helpful. Enjoy bar area and food served in bar is standard fayre but done well. As with established Hotels they need regular updating and maintenance. I feel Lawlors is a traditional style hotel but would benefit from upgrading to carpets and some decor in corridors bedrooms and bathrooms. Local establishments such as The Park are more modern decor and attract possibly more tourists but there is a price to pay for staying there. Judging by the clientele at breakfast Lawlors attracts more professional / contractors looking for a clean room with old school values. I enjoyed my stay, as always, but if it was my business a planned refurbishment would be in place with a view to keeping traditional values in a more restyled surrounding. If this was achieved I would be prepared to pay the rates quoted at local rivals

Would stay again, Dungarvan is a lovely buzzing town.
Great central location. Top marks to the staff. Bathroom spotless, towels and sheets perfect.
Cooked breakfast temperature was only luke warm.
Curtains missing some hooks. Ceiling over the lovely window on the 3rd floor was flaking. Not big things but could be fixed.

Very good location, staff friendly, free parking , nice bath with quick hot water fill, breakfast nice if go early, nice bedroom view out over the bay
Bedroom location very noisy at top of stairs and next to lift, bedroom itself very dated, bathrooms upgraded but second shower just very hot water and adjustments didn’t work, pillows very hard and not comfortable, room temperature system not working and very dated

Superb base for a superb experience (walking the Greenway)
Location was perfect for us (we were 'walking the Greenway' starting from Dungarvan first thing Saturday morning). Friendly and accommodating staff, arranged light breakfast for us 6:30, let us keep car in car park couple of nights to help with our logistical arrangements for walk. NB: that's why answered reason for travelling as 'Adventure' due to Lawlors being base for 46km walk with spouse and friends! Proximity to Old Bank (that we'd booked for an evening meal) was also good.

A very comfortable and friendly spot to spend a night, and perhaps longer, with a great breakfast
Very pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Location was good, car park seemed secure and we enjoyed breakfast with a good amount of choice. As we arrived late and had to go out to get something to eat we didn't get to try the bar but there was live music when we first arrived and it looked as if it would be a pleasant place to have a drink
Only that the breakfast area lacked much natural light, felt a bit enclosed.

A centrally located 3* hotel with good service and vintage vibes
I loved the hotels' central location within the town. It was within walking distance to restaurants, shops, cafe, museums and castle, harbour etc.
Staff at breakfast time were very friendly and helpful.
Size of the room we got was pretty spacious for a family of 4. Bathroom was big too.
I loved the vintage feel about the hotel and its deco.
Free parking for hotel guests.
There was a dried up spillage/ stain on the bed frame of one of the single bed and floor beneath it which could have been easily cleaned.
The movie channels on the tv don't have a good signal and keep stalling.
Room wasn't cleaned one of the days, we were out from 9.30 to 5.30. The housekeeper did knock on the door to hand us clean towels though around 6pm and asked of we needed anything else.
There was wear and tear in areas however this really didn't bother us.

Lawlors Hotel, Waterford, Ireland.
We stopped at Lawlors Hotel for dinner and ended up booking a room. The receptionist told us the room wasn't ready, that she would have to see if she could organise it when my aunt asked at reception. However I booked it through Booking.com from our table which said the room was available. There was a bit of a kerfuffle as to the readiness of the room but thankfully we got sorted and it was both clean and comfortable.
Dinner was good, we had roast beef and fish & chips. The service was great (thank you)
Breakfast was a buffet but it wasn't fresh as we got to breakfast at 9:50 and they only served till 10. So my aunt's asked for a fresh breakfast and the staff obliged. The service was great in the breakfast room. The staff were both accommodating and courteous (thank you)
I didn't like the awkwardness around the room being ready or not.

No sound insulation, no privacy, run-down and stuck in the past
Good location in the town centre. The hotel has its own car park, which seems safe. Our bathroom was nice and looked like it had been recently refurbished. The water pressure in the shower was surprisingly good.
Briefly, this place is long past its prime, the carpets are old and musty, the rooms have no sound insulation, there is no privacy or peace, the breakfast has little for vegetarians or vegans, there was a discarded adult toy outside our window, and there was no hot water for a day.
On our first night, we heard the TV in the next room and the sound of snoring. Thinking the occupant had fallen asleep with the TV on loud, we asked to be moved to another room. Instead, the night porter woke up our neighbours to tell them to turn down the TV, and we were too shocked to ask him not to. We heard the whole conversation clearly from our own room and realised then how poor the soundproofing was. The porter identified us as having complained, discretion clearly not being his watchword.
You can hear every conversation and movement from the rooms and corridors around you. The floors creak loudly, no matter how dainty your step. When people walked by in the corridor, we could feel the vibrations in our bed. Expect no privacy. Light sleepers can expect little rest.
Breakfast is buffet-style with dishes of meat and non-meat items kept side-by-side. Vegetarians and vegans bothered by cross-contamination should eat somewhere else, and won't be missing much anyway. There was no plant milk.
Our room had a view of the wall of another wing of the hotel and a dingy flat roof. Granted, not every room can afford a view of herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain but this was exceptionally grim. Just outside our window, a discarded adult toy lay on the flat roof, raising suspicions about a stain on the window handle. Presumably, the item was hurriedly thrown out by a previous guest when the night porter came knocking.
On our second-last day, the water heating broke down. There was still no hot water when we checked out the next morning. At least the receptionist had the good sense not to ask us if we enjoyed our stay.

Overpriced for the actual experience we got
Location, room was spacious, bar was nice
We were given a key card to our room and walked in on other guests, when we went back to reception we barely got an apology. Also hoovering outside the room at 8:24am on a bank holiday Monday is not what people want. Breakfast wasn’t great either

I would be reluctant to stay again due to the room
The staff and the food were 💯
The beds and the pillows were not comfortable. I booked a double bed but I got 2 singles put together, one was terribly uncomfortable. No air conditioning in the room and it was uncomfortably warm. Even with the window open as much as it would open as we were on the 3rd floor it was very warm and noisy at night as we were at the front. The kettle wasn't working properly but that I could bypass. The TV stations were not all working. Overall, disappointing.

Good breakfast
Carpets very outdated

Comfortable enough in a great location.
It’s in a perfect location central to the town. Breakfast was good especially as it was a buffet style.
The room soft furnishings were tired and in some cases thread bare. The same is also true elsewhere. In some way homely but not in some aspects a good sense.
