The Townhouse Strand

Amazing location. Lovely tasty breakfast in Strand Pub, overlooking Lady's Cove, with stunning views of the bay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms in townhouse were basic, compact but clean, comfortable and suited our needs. Instantaneous shower adequate but not powerful. Will definitely return.

No instruction clearly given to say we had to check in at the other strand inn premises and it was late and raining when we arrived. I had to phone when we couldn’t get in only to be told we had to go down to the strand inn to check in

I was attending an event on Sunday in the hotel so it was perfectly fine for what I wanted it for. Room was clean and comfortable fine for one but i'd say would be small for 2 people. Location was good for hotel, it was just around corner. You need to drive to the harbour to have breakfast which was a 6 minute drive. Be warned its a busy area with very limited parking. Breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly. I did feel the room was cool, I took off my coat when I arrived but quickly put it on again. Also when I arrived back after dinner also felt it a little cold.

Nothing i really didn't like.

The breakfast was nice but my eggs benedict my eggs were hard. Hollandaise sauce a bit runny. I ordered orange juice but wasn't asked if I liked ice but when it was delivered it already had ice in it. I don't like orange juice with ice but rather waste it I just accepted it. My husband had an Irish Breakfast and his was lovely.

In our room the wardrobe door was broken and just stayed fully open. The bathroom mirror was too high so if you're smaller than 5ft 3 inches you have to stretch to see yourself. No shelf at sink to put make up, etc. Shower door had a big gap in it so water was going through the gap and onto the floor.
