The style of the hotel: a mix of old and new. Great bed and spacious room. Excellent breakfast.

For my taste, the room temp is too hot and difficult to manage. Except just open the windows but then it is freezing in winter😉

Comfortable rooms with comfortable beds. Very nice design. Fantastic view to the mountains around.

Well-run hotel in a great location - nice, efficient, but missing a bit of magic.

Surprisingly good stay. The building is old and full of character from the outside, but inside it’s modern and well-managed. Staff were efficient, smart, and pleasant - you don’t need to repeat anything twice. Parking was convenient, the location is perfect (right in the middle of Engelberg), and everything worked smoothly from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was absolutely decent and served in a nice dining space.

While the hotel is nice, I missed a bit of magic or personal charm. The room was fine, but not particularly memorable. I didn’t feel any special, individual touch - just a clean, well-run place. The view from my room could have been better; I hope other rooms are more impressive.

The Great Experience

The place was super convenient. A minute walk to the train station Room was spacious and cozy with fantastic mountain view. Staff was excellent. They were frienly and helpful. I will definitely visit again.

Beautiful modernized old hotel with stunning views in nice weather!

Relaxed hotel with eclectic mix of old and new furniture. Excellent location in town centre next to the station. Bars and restaurants all very close by. Clever use of reflective materials as walls so you get double the Mountain Views!!! Parking available right outside the property. Decent breakfast. Yucatán bar/restaurant had great service and food.

No hot drinks facilities in the rooms. There are machines downstairs for tea and coffee but we only noticed on the last day. The bed was very soft and the room was too warm. Little bit noisy in the late evening due to nearby bars.

Beautiful view from the balcony. an upgrade at the time of check in. It’s a very small village. Everything is within walking distance. Train station is opposite the hotel.

Tiny single beds. You turn, you fall. Open type bathroom. No place to hang clothes when taking shower.

Beautiful city with an amazing view.

The breakfast spread was really good, they had so many varieties and the taste was equally good. The location is good as well, it was walking distance from the cable car station to the Titlis mountain and it was opposite the train station, we just had to walk out, cross the road and voila we were in this place. Staffs were helpful although there was no one to man the reception after a certain time we messaged them here to ask for extra pillows and it was immediately attended to. The view from this place, I mean we were surrounded by mountains with peaks covered in snow, just stunning.

There were no doors for the bathroom! It was open I mean, there was a sliding door for the shower and toilet area but the bath itself was exposed. So this was the only con and perhaps it could have been cleaner, I mean just in general, it was not so bad though.

Breakfast was very nice.

The restaurant staff did not provide a good table saying it was reserved even no one came for 1 hour while we were on another table. It would be great if they have a fan in every room during summers. The room gets very stuffy. The reception staff are amateurs..can do better.

The property is a great mix of traditional and mountain chic. It is in excellent condition having been fully refurbished and it is in an excellent location. The staff were great, always extremely friendly and helpful.

Turn down the heat. The communal areas were extremely hot; although, we found this to be the case everywhere we went. It seems Engelberg cranks up the heat for guests to open windows to stay cool.

The double bed was actually two singles pushed together. Pillows gave no support and need replacement.
