Convenient location right on Dorfstrasse in downtown Engelberg. Incredibly friendly staff.

Central, quiet, very pleasant stay

Great location, friendly and attentive staff both at reception and in the beautiful big breakfast room with views of the mountains. Good selection of essentials for breakfast. Comfortable, quiet bedrooms with good storage, but need more hangars. Loved having a balcony with views up and down the main street. Very quiet street at night. The rooms stayed warm during the night, and it was easy to adjust temperature (the air is very dry naturally). Very comfortable beding, pillows and mattress. Appreciated the thoughtfulness of Christmas decorations and biscuits in the bedroom for Christmas Day. Thank you all for a very pleasant stay!

There should be a lounge, somewhere comfortable to sit and read - the bar on the 1st floor could have more sofas and armchairs for different groups of people, instead of the dining tables and chairs - it would feel more relaxing and comfortable, especially for non-skiers during the day.

Really nice place to stay in Engelberg! Feels so Swiss :)

Loved this hotel! In the very centre of Engelberg, in the walking street. Nice view from the balcony and lively atmosphere around! Light wood in the room makes it cozy. And overall the place feels so Swiss))) And yes, their tasty breakfast in a good atmosphere is definitely not to be missed!

A slice of warmth in Engelberg

The welcome itself! The lady was absolutely lovely and warm. The room was on the 4th floor and had a skylight. I loved the warmth and friendliness of the family run establishment. The breakfast room is spectacular with wonderful wooden ceilings. Choice of breakfast is apt. Overall thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Breakfast very basic compared to other hotels we stayed in. Lighting not great in the room. Room and bathroom very small. Switzerland is an expensive country to stay in but given what we paid we feel it was expensive for what it was. Carpet in hallways a bit threadbare and hotel very dated.

Very friendly staff, very good view of the Titlis from the room although the high floor is accessible only by stairs, as the elevator reaches only the floor below.

Lighting in the room is insufficient, the fermetures are old-looking. The list of TV channels does not correspond with the actual, and no English channels

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had everything including some wonderful cheeses. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was the best meal of our entire trip. Super clean rooms and bathrooms. A wonderful spot to stay.

Although I liked that the property had character, there were small steps from one flooring to another which could be difficult for an elderly person. Then again, my 83 year old friend with a broken hip and a walking stick did alright.

warm welcome from staff, and from staff dog!

the staff made us feel very welcome, and the house dog made our dog feel very welcome, which was a big bonus! the breakfast was ample, in a beautiful and very spacious dining room

should have brought my eye mask as the Christmas decoration outside the window shone brightly all night. But it did make the hotel look very festive, so it's not a complaint
