A lovely comfortable base in an excellent location. A good base for getting to Edinburgh City Cente.

We had a fabulous weekend away. The house is a great place to stay but just needs a little TLC.

it was a beautiful spacious house and felt very homely and comfortable.

The kitchen cupboard door handles were very grubby and we had to wash some items before we were able to use them. lots of cobwebs and handprints all over the patio doors. also some chopped crockery. would be better to have a door on the second en suite for privacy. rug in the green bedroom is a real trip hazard and easily remedied.

Beautiful House

The house is beautiful, well presented, perfect size bedrooms and communal spaces. the location is lovely and I wish we would of had chance to explore the surroundings more but it was only 15min taxi into the centre also.

There is nothing not to like! One guest did say the downstairs room in the extension was cold during the night but I’m sure the property manager would of helped with that if we reached out

Lovely house in a good location but could do with some updating

The house is lovely and in a great location, very easy access to the city centre and just around the corner from a lovely pub (oldest in Edinburgh!) called The Sheep Heid Inn which is well worth a visit. The house is spacious and had all the facilities required. It was a great base for our family trip to Edinburgh.

Unfortunately we were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the house. Upon our arrival a bin was left in the middle of the front garden and there was overflowing rubbish around the bins outside the front of the house which didn’t give us the best first impression. There are no instructions given if you are supposed to put the outdoor bins out to be emptied and we, as I assume other guests will be also, would have been happy to do this to ensure the bins are emptied as required. The mattresses are quite hard and the beds are incredibly squeaky. The house is in a great location but considering it is quite a bit more expensive than other properties we looked at prior to booking, it could do with a bit of an update and a good deep clean. Given we were out exploring Edinburgh the majority of the time, it served as a great base for us and we would stay there again.

Beautiful house, just outside amazing city…. house needs some serious TLC.

This is a lovely house. It is a good size for a larger group / family.

It was cold upon arrival and took quite a long time to get it warmed up. There were a few maintenance issues, including the doors onto the garden not being in full working order. (stuck open upon arrival & then once we had spoken to the host, stuck closed as we were too worried to open again incase the broken door handle would not work). Problem with upstairs bathroom flush. Shutters to bedrooms not lockable.

Pleasant but for the price did not meet my expectations

The location is excellent. Rooms are a good size. Kitchen white goods are in reasonable condition

The property is generally starting to look very tired and needs redecorating throughout. Previous guests had obviously enjoyed a considerable amount of beverages and this had not been removed from the front garden. The sofas in the lounge have been well used and are too low for some people. The TV in the lounge is too small for the room and needs to be upgraded to a much larger size. In addition something needs to be done regarding the positioning of the equipment because you can't use the Virgin remote control while viewing the TV picture. The second large bedroom upstairs needs a door to separate the bathroom from the bedroom A number of the bathroom/shower sinks were quite badly blocked. Bathrooms themselves are starting to look quite tired. Outside there was a nice size table but it was in poor condition. In addition the garden requires a good amount of maintenance, particularly the trees which are now too large for the garden and need severe pruning.

We all had a good time in this house. it was excellent for our party size.

heating NOT good! one radiator had no heat coming from it! with two walls of glass in the lounge of course it gets cold in the evening so heating could be much better! also bathroom in upstairs front bedroom could be doing with some kind of door so as not to be sitting on loo open to the world!!! Also tv is not the easiest to operate, even by someone who is an IT expert. The house is getting tired now and could be doing with a re-fresh! Dirty carpets etc!

Amazing place to stay for families with children

Loved the location my children loved playing in the garden. The house was lovley and comfortable too.

This is really picky but the cushions in every room were lummpy so maybe bring your own.

Fantastic home away from home.

The house was very warm and cosy and in a great location. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and very clean.

No Salt, Pepper, Oil or any Tea or Coffee, which were very standard inclusions in all my previous bookings. May have been excluded for COVID 19 safety.

Passable

Location was good, there was enough living space for everyone, free on street parking and the living room area was a lovely design with windows/doors opened out into garden.

The property wasn’t cleaned to a high enough standard, cobwebs everywhere with spiders on them especially bathrooms and living room. One of the en-suite toilets wasn’t working, carpets on hall way had pen over them. Sofa didn’t feel cleanest along with soft furnishings that were around, lamp shade thick with dust. Also inside kitchen cupboards were full of crumbs and pots didn’t look the cleanest. It just didn’t give the feel of being clean. The garden area looked untidy and full of weeds. We had a lot of children with us and the patio area was uneven with slabs being loose at the edge so it wasn’t kid friendly to use. The property has a lot of potential it just needed a deep clean and some maintenance work done.

Disappointing

Plenty of seating in the dining area and lounge which suits large groups.

Lots of issues with the property, one toilet wasn’t working, the shower didn’t drain, the bins weren’t emptied so all the bottles from the previous guests were surrounding the property. The beds were really hard and uncomfortable. This property is marketed as a luxury home rental and there was nothing luxurious about it. The tv remote only worked if you stood in the dining area so you couldn’t operate it from the lounge. Lots of kitchen essentials missing such as a large pan etc given that the house accommodates larger groups. Only 2 rolls of toilet roll provided. No garden chairs around the outside table and the grass needed cutting. For the price this was not worth it! So much that I would actually like a partial refund for the stay to make it more aligned to what it was worth.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

We loved the house and its beautiful features. It was stunning. The location was fantastic too and we really enjoyed our stay and will come back.

I was shocked that there were no pillow protectors or mattress protectors on any of the beds. Only the master bedrooms mattress was comfortable all the others were far too hard..
