Not a hotel I will be staying at again

Location was good for the train station

Our room. We specifically booked a room with a large double bed, but we were given a room with 2 single beds pushed together (which I have to say were very uncomfortable), which in my book doesn't constitute a double bed, the room also had a bathroom for a disabled person which was not requested.

Could be excellent, but it falls short

1. Quiet soundproofing room. I mean you can hear the street noise including the trams but barely. Nothing from next door... not a squeak. 2. Central-wish location. And right next to the train station which again you can not hear. 3. Clean. 4. Breakfast at 25 Euros was pricey but good. Also available to 10:30. 5. Security is okay, but lax 6. Bottled water in the room, of good quality 7. The key mechanism was solid...tap only, and it worked 8. U need the key to enter the building and use the lift as well 9. The WiFi worked flawlessly 10. The linen smelled okay 11. I don't think there is room service but plenty of restaurants in town 12. The pool on the roof i did not try, but it would be great if it was heated

1. The pillows were not good. I even had my own... but I had a severe crook on my left side after the 2nd night. 2. Don't try the breakfast scrambled eggs. There is something not right there 3. There was no safe in my room for valuables 4. Apparently there are 2 classes of rooms...one for the peasants and one for royalty. I had the peasant one; with that, the mini bar fridge is empty. But they did have 2 1 litre bottles of water available. 5. Light pollution from under the main door and the empty mini bar; take a mask thing for sleeping 6. The TV switches on automatically at 4 a.m. It's not an alarm set by the previous occupier. I reported it to no avail. 7. The shower has 2 heads. Try figuring out how to switch between the small head and the big one; go on, i dare you. 8. The toilet paper was terrible... like sandpaper. For a hotel like this, that was surprising. 9. The heating is with an aircon, and I hate that, so I did not and never use it. The air was dry. But with the summer quilt, it was still okay, warm enough. 10. Security wise...anyone can follow you into the hotel and into the lift. So the key thing is moot until they reach the room to rob. 11. A couple of unsavoury characters hung around the station late at night, as I came back to my hotel... but of course, it's nothing compared to London or New York. 12. The lit sign with the Mercur Hotel outside has bits missing...its always an indication of shall we say a lack of care and attention to detail 13. There is no concierge service 14. There is no spa or equivalent services 15. If u come back late and you've lost or forgotten your key, I am not entirely sure there will be anyone to open up 16. Check-in was after 15:00, but you can ask for earlier 17. Try figuring out how to shut off the shower completely... mine drip dripped most of the time 18. There was chipped paint off the wall... again, it shows a lack of attention to the peasant classrooms 19.

We had a wonderful stay.

It’s located in the center of Blankenberge. The staffs are very friendly and the breakfast is very good. From the hotel you can reach the beach within no times. Supermarkets and shopping area are just in front of the door. My kid was very enjoying the carousel across the hotel. Above of that, it’s very convenient if you came to Blankenberge with the train. The hotel is just beside the train station. For us, Blankenberge is very beautiful and have everything and still very friendly to tourists and families friendly. We will definitely go back again.

Good value for money for a quick stay

Great location and the public parking right next to the hotel. I had nice and spacious corner room with nice views. Check-In and checking out went smooth.

The pictures showed a nespresso machine but only had a kettle in the room. And maybe the pressure in the shower was not ideal but good enough tho.

Ordered a taxi form the reception with an hour notice, taxi didn't show up until 90 minutes after that, I accumulate delay at my meeting

Great Location, wonderful pool! The room was comfortable and spacious and the amenities are nice, especially the still and sparkling water. Staff was amazing, friendly and accommodating.

The floor by the pool entrance need fixed: one tile is loose and a metal bolt is sticking up. Sadly no access to the balcony in the room. The rainshower doesn't fit in the shower and gets the whole bathroom floor wet. All the towels were frayed and rough. The free coffee in the room is terrible. Breakfast is not included and very costly to add on, especially with a bakery around the corner.

The room was comfortable and big enough for 4 people. The breakfast was also good.

The hotel has a swimming pool but does not provide towels. There is no poolside bar. For the price we paid it was a little disappointing.

The bathroom was great, and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was very good, except for the powdered scrambled eggs. Why not have real eggs to serve? The staff were all friendly and helpful.

The carpeting in the hallways was horrendously dirty and stained. The flowers in the vase on the front desk were wilted and hanging down. The heating in our room didn't work well, we were always cold.

Screw the hotel

I don't see anything good

I had two stays in this hotel in a month, in the first stay, Because there's noise during the whole night, so they allowed me to change to another room, but the next day, one pair of my shoes got lost in the first room, Because I hadn't had time to collect it. They'd been searching my shoes for a week, no result, no answer, I asked for 2 nights for free as compensation, they refused. The saddest thing is the hotel don't care about the client even I talked with the manager, they just keep you waiting until you check out. They silly ask for my invoice of the shoes, are you carrying shoes invoice during your trip always? The quality complaint number is to the receptionist, pointless to complaint. Also I remind the future clients, the towels aren't clean here. Breakfast is not fresh. For my lost shoes I stay twice here to get an answer, but what a disappointment.

During our stay there were not enough towels in the room (there was only one bath towel in the room, even we are three!!); therefore every day it was necessary for us to ask the cleaning ladies to provide us with enough towels. one of them took the trouble to check the room if our claim was correct….. This was not the service of four-star hotel…
