Porta 22 Charme&Relax

In the historic Citta Alta area of Bergamo. Just around the corner from the funicular so extremely handy. A quiet apartment in a lovely old building. Very nicely renovated and cosy. Small balcony off bedroom, nice bathroom and living area. The people in the agency who ran the property were very friendly and responsive and check in was very easy. They also provided details of places to eat and things to do. The only point I would make is that this apartment wouldnt suit anyone with mobility issues as there are around 40 stairs up to the apartment. Not a problem for us but worth mentioning if you have limited mobility.

Nothing. It was a perfect base to explore Bergamo.

The property was lovely and in a great location. There was plenty of crockery and storage for clothes and toiletries.

There was no washing machine tablets to wash clothes and not enough toilet paper provided for our stay. It’s the little things like these that turn a good stay into a great one and you know your host has paid attention to detail.

I had the breakfast in the apartment when I had really early starts but ate out the rest of the time. There were so many fab places nearby as the apartment was so convenient to everything. It was just a few steps from the Funicular also.

The apartment is very well located in a charming old building just few steps from the main area of Bergamo Alta, it is modern and nicely designed and a great space for a family of 3. It is a lovely place IF you are staying during winter or not during the hot months of summer!! Instructions for the key collection and how to get in the apartment (we arrived very late) was very clear and easy to access.

During summer (we stayed in July) it is boiling hot!! I was expecting an AC as it is mentioning air conditioning at the property facilities description, however when we arrived at 2am, the flat was so hot inside (the windows were closed) that none of us slept!! During the day I asked for the possibility of providing at least a fan, but we didnt get one. We left every single window opened for the whole day and the whole night on the next night, again, no one slept, it was super hot, the street light and noise was disturbing because the windows were open. We ended up having a long journey next day on our way back home extremely tired due to the lack of sleep for 2 nights. I wish I knew in advance there was no AC so I would never book it during summer.
