Embang Homestay exceeded all our expectations. My fiancé and I are doing a 1 month long trip across Indonesia and wanted to stay in Sidemen for 2 nights before heading to Penida. From the moment we arrived, Ayu was there to greet us, show us to our room, provided us with a welcome drink and treats, gave us all the information we needed and made sure we were comfortable. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable, had mosquito nets, the shower had hot water and was so beautifully designed, the bed was clean and crisp, and the views - wow! We didn't need to use the fan as it was a good temperature to sleep without it. At night, a chorus of all the rice paddy frogs and critters came alive but it was a joy to listen to and fall asleep to - if anyone is sensitive to noise, then maybe get earbuds just in case. We chose to get massages at the Embang spa - and this was amazing. The breakfast everyday was delicious, and so were the dinners. We went on a fishing trip in Padangbai for one of the mornings and came back with a bucket of fresh fish, and Ayu was so kind enough to cook it for us for dinner and make a whole meal out of it - which is obviously not the kind of meals she'd typically have on the menu nor cook, her kindness surpasses any local we've met on our trip thus far. She also helped book us private taxis to/from Padangbai. The old dog Momo/Mumu was so cute too! I would highly recommend Embang Homestay to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway in Sidemen! 10/10 Cannot recommend it enough. Thank you, Ayu, for everything!!

The room was right in front of the rice fields, which made it so peaceful to wake up and relax. At night we even had visits from cute animals like frogs, and we got to see fireflies flying around too. The staff were incredibly kind, gentle, and always attentive.
Everything was perfect!
