It is in a very peaceful location surrounded by rice paddies.
Close to the waterfall.
They rent scooters there and the woman who runs it is very friendly.
Amazing sunsets!
If you don’t drive a scooter, getting around is a bit difficult.

Perfect location in beautiful valley just south of Sidemen, close to fields with varied crops through which we had a great walk with a guide.

The owner Gusti and his wife Netri were such wonderful hosts. The views are just spectacular from everywhere on the property. The food, all cooked by Netri, was exceptional. Made to feel like family by the staff. The energy given out by these wonderful traditional Hindu people was so calm and peaceful. We truly enjoyed every moment at Kubu Taru.
Nothing could be improved on, exceptional on all counts. The Warung is close to the road and a bit noisy at times, because of the amount of traffic, but that is nothing the owners have any control over. We chose to travel everywhere by taxi, which made us feel very safe. Driving yourself by car or motor bike seemed to us extremely risky, but given our ages, 69 and 74, we were not prepared to take the risk. You just have to be aware that all traffic in Bali is heavy, and the locals take risks that just make you shake your head.

Traditional bungalows with stunning views over the Sidemen Valley, surrounded by a lush garden and a peaceful veranda to relax on. Sleeping in the cozy beds is a true delight, and the shower – with its perfect rain shower head – makes it hard to get out. We stayed in the spacious two-bedroom house tucked away in the far corner of the property, which offered plenty of privacy and quiet. A truly serene retreat.
There’s some road noise from the nearby road, but in the case of this accommodation it’s easy to forget and not hear it.

The best value for the price they give! Their homestay is just amazing, beautiful location in quiet rice fields.
The room is really nice and their bathroom looks and is amazing, beautifully decorated.
We just regret not having stayed longer there.

The kindness of the host and the staff, I felt welcomed and very well considered. The view from the room is lovely with the nature and the bungalow is cosy with a huge bathroom. The wifi is good and efficient for video calls. The area is beautiful, ricefields walks and view on Agung. It's also a walking distance to shops like Indomaret and to the Swing nearby which even if you don't want to do, going there to enjoy a drink with the view is amazing with so many birds (morning/sunset)! I totally recommend it, thanks a lot for my beautiful stay

It's next to the road and it can be an issue for a light sleeper...

Its a nice airy timber cabin in the saddle of the mountains. Good for a moment of solitude and experiencing an authentic little Balinese town. There is a restaurant catering for all meals if you don't want to venture out and find a warung.
Someone was doing some hammering on my cabin in the early hours 🤷

Spent my birthday there and it can't be more beautiful! Amazing views and famous Java style villas are all yours. Ricefields and mountaions are everywhere around you!

Amazing views on the rice fields. The bungalows are just the cutest. Very simple but great experience, a bit like a tree house.
Food is local, don’t expect anything fancy. More street food.
Proximity to the road making it very noisy.

Such a great place, love the scenery. Pictures on here doesn’t do justice.
Bed mosquito net is a bit weird. Difficult to sleep with it.

Old Indonesia style wooden buildings, nice view of mountains and rice fields. Lovely birds and butterflies.
It needs a facelift, looks like outdoor furnishings have not been replaced for a long time.

- My staying was special, all thanks to Gustri and Netri for taking care of me.
- Traditional style house surrounded by nature.
- With nature comes some little pests. Prepare some repellent if needed.

Staff was very friendly !!! In particular the nice Lady working in the kitchen. She cooked very delicious food and her service was very lovely. The homemade nasi goreng was great and in the morning the fantastic sweet breakfast.
In the late afternoon and while having coffee you will have a beautiful view into the rice terrace.
Well we had the houses / Bungalows. From the outside it was good, but inside I was kind of scared. The room where the bed was, was kind of too big, felt kind of lost, There is no window, so the room was very dark, always had to put the light on.
One of my friends stayed in the room next door with two single beds. He sad one bed had sand in it :( . so he switched into the other bed.
The bathroom was clean, but you had the feeling you were litteraly in the Barn, I felt like being in a cow barn.
And just because the bungalows are near to the street, it was kind of loud.
Well for one night and getting to the Port was ok.

The location is great and the views are beautiful! The room was also nice and a good size!
I booked a 2 bed villa using a free room upgrade for two people on booking.com. Upon arrival i was told that if I wanted access to the second room I'd have to pay extra (despite the fact this is not what it states on the website). After discussions with the owner this was not resolved and we ended up with just one of the two rooms that we had booked (even though the other room was not being used).
This needs to be changed on booking.com to avoid future disappointment!
Additionally after us stating twice that breakfast was included in our booking they tried to charge for breakfast in the morning and the transfer provided by the hostel cost 350000rp for a 40 minute journey to Padang Bai - which was expensive (with no other options available given the remote location).
This unfortunately made the stay here less enjoyable.

Beautiful views into the rice fields and to mount Agung. Easy acess because located along the main road. Friendly staff.
The main road is more busy then we anticipated and you hear traffic clearly especially trucks during the night.

The view truly is amazing. The shower is nice - good pressure and hot water, although the bathroom smelled a little moldy. Food is good and the woman who works there was really nice.
When we arrived the woman who works there had no idea about our booking, so it took a while for us to check-in. They weren't prepared for our arrival and so were the rooms - for example no toiletpaper etc. The family room (bungalow with 2 bedrooms) has almost no window, it's really dark and stuffy inside and the fan doesn't really help. It's really noisy there (main road, loud neighbours, dirge, ...), which for us was bearable after being knocked out from the Mt. Agung hike.

Beautiful view, v sweet wooden house with porch. Great bird-watching, excellent view of THE volcano! Super good beds, hot water.
Terrible 24/7 truck traffic on nearby road (construction vehicles); getting charged both for breakfast (nowhere else does) and an additional 30k per thermos of tea wTer! Also impossible to walk road due to aghressive dogs.
