Peaceful stay in Sidemen

Loved my stay here, comfy big bed, everything was very clean, fresh towels and semi/open outside bathroom was well maintained. Good location though not directly access by car so if you have luggage you will have to carry it along the pathway but it’s not far! I would stay here again in Sidemen if I come back.

A SPECIAL PLACE WITH BEAUTIFUL STAFF. CLOSE TO EVERYTHING YET QUIET AMBIENCE AND INCREDIBLE VIEWS.

Outstanding place to stay.....Ani and Lillia are so gorgeous and friendly. The view is so dreamy and the rooms are very spacious. Breakfast was served promptly everyday and the Pisang Rai is to die for. There is a great Flat screen that you can use netflix (charge) or just android connect for your tube ect. The location is so good. very very quiet, yet 2 mins walk to many warungs. Sideman is such a beautiful spiritual place and Tinis Massage does a unforgetable Healing Massage next door. I definitely will return to this special Homestay. I stayed in the more expensive rooms at the front. I recommend them for sure.

The only complaint I have is the outside bathroom. I really liked it, but please build a cover over the toilet area and towell rack as it gets really wet, especially in wet season when it rains every day. Also a fridge in the room would be the best! A fridge and would stay forever!...thankyou for a beautiful stay!

Lovely family , natural culture and views to die for

I loved the view!!! It was stunning. I didn't mind the outdoor shower. I loved getting washed in nature , not digging the cockroaches, but the lizards yes there cute ☺️ The location was really great ! Left on the road is more traditional places, and right is more boutique vibes. The family was really helpful and sweet and would go out of there way to help you. ( thank you again for the late night breakfast due to my take away not arriving ) I loved hearing the insects at night, and with a good few hairclips, I managed to get the room abit darker with the curtains. Reminder to those to use the mode button on the Aircon remote to turn light off as its very bright . Bed was reasonably comfortable. I think a few towel holders in the room would of been handy but not a massive problem when you have been living out of a bag for 3 weeks . I was just very greatfull to feel looked after here and visit the wonders of sidemen

As much as the views and the less tourist crowds where great I found the doors being open and closed quite loud and had huge gaps in them so not very soundproof. If you have talkative neighbours you can hear them from your room. I'm quite sensitive to sounds so maybe it was just me but I didn't sleep so great here, However the views and the staff were beyond amazing . Very friendly family who would do anything to help you . I would go back ... the garden view not so private. Had always someone working in the garden earlier morning on and off throughout the days . But not sure if it was due to landslides from the storm . Very spacious room, AC nice and cool however was noisys and leaking . 5 nights I stayed and no cleaning had been done . However if I had of asked they would of 100% attended to it. Great memories but just a few things I think could be improved for the price

a serene hillside stay where the scenery steals the show

I stayed one night at Abian Dauh Sidemen, and it was enough to understand why this village is often described as one of Bali’s hidden gems. Sidemen’s landscapes are breathtaking, with endless rice terraces framed by the mountains, and if you book a mountain-view room here, the panorama alone is worth the trip. Waking up to that view felt like living in a postcard. The two young women running the place were a highlight — genuinely sweet, smiling, and always ready to help. The hotel also offers activities, which I didn’t have the chance to try, but it’s nice to know there are options if you want to explore more. My room was spotless and modern, contrary to some comments I had read before arriving. With air-conditioning and a comfortable bed, I slept incredibly well. The bathroom is semi-open, which I see as a smart way to keep the bedroom dry and mosquito-free, though I imagine it could feel chilly to shower at night or early morning. A plug-in mosquito repellent and a bit of spray kept me safe from bites. I’d happily come back and would recommend Abian Dauh Sidemen to travelers who want a peaceful, authentic escape in Bali with jaw-dropping views and warm local hospitality.

Breakfast was homemade and traditional — basic — but it did the job.

Friendly and quiet.

The Garden view rooms were large and comfortable , air con was cold, water was hot. The bathroom had a little mould on the roof but last wet season was huge in Bali and it is to be expected. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful with a short walk to resturants and attractions. The staff are lovely. These rooms are cheaper than the Mountain view rooms, we stayed in both, the Mountain view rooms are more luxurious and have amazing views, the garden view rooms have terraces that open to the inner courtyard, reception and bar.

The view!

Like all the other reviewers I cannot speak highly enough about the stunningly gorgeous view from these rooms, we had both rooms with large terraces and it was truly our own private paradise. The room were spacious and clean. The air con was cold and the beds were very comfortable. I liked the outdoor bathroom and I had hot water (only once did it run out). The staff are lovely and always keen to help. Abian Dauh is locally owned, only four rooms, I believe it's always better to support local than giving your tourist dollars to big resorts. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe, a short walk to restaurants and attractions. I spent a lot of time sitting on the terrace enjoying the view and birdwatching. There are some insects that may be attracted to the lights at night or ants attracted by food if you leave it out but this tells you that you are really close to nature, much better than being drowned in pesticides in a clinical resort room.

Quite a few bugs and difficult to get rid of them. Outdoor shower so if it’s raining you can’t really use the toilet! It’s a little bit off the main strip so you need to walk 15 mins or so

Best view ever

The most amazing view. This property is such good value. Very clean and comfortable. There was no noise and the room was nice a dark at night. Breakfast was great and the staff were very nice. Also a good location.

Perfect

The best acomodation ever. We stayed for 5 nights and we were there totally alone with the beautiful view, kind hosts and with breakfast included. We absolutely enjoyed our staying here.

Nice quiet place for a reasonable price

Super quiet place off the road with min of outside noise. Big comfy bed, nice outdoor seating area. It's quite nice so if you need a place outside of a CBD Ubud, this is a good choice.

Breakfast served from 9am - way too late for us. We asked for earlier breakfast (8am) but the girl who told us it's possible didn't tell anyone and the morning staff had no clue so we had to wait almost till 9am anyway. Not a biggie I know, but I wake up at 6:30 so it's a long wait, no kettle in the room either.

For a peaceful escape

The view was amazing. Good air-conditioning. The location was very private, overlooking the farming area in the valley. The room had an outdoor toilet and shower which I found novelty pleasant. Room had good curtains, gotta love a dark room for afternoon naps. Breakfast was delicious, I recommend the veg omelet. 'Nana's Pool & Bar' had the best sweet and sour chicken I've ever had. Also the Nasi Campur from Beauty cafe was extremely tasty.

There was no refrigerator in the room so you couldn't keep drinks cold, each time you wanted something it was walking time. The TV had no connection to anything unless you had your own accounts to log into (only YouTube freely accessible). No local tv channels either. Room needed a repainting. No lockbox or safe in the room.

I would stay here again if I’m back in Sideman

The room is at the end of an alley and has an incredible view. The included breakfast was nice but the service was very slow, so plan accordingly. There are good restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk or a 3 minute scooter ride. Overall, a good stay.

The bathroom is open which is great, however the toilet isn’t completely covered so we got wet when it rained. Also, it didn’t bother me, but there were creepy crawlies (slugs, spiders, lizards) in the bathroom, especially at night.

This place is beautiful! The view alone would make me want to come back. The furniture seemed new and stylish, and the room felt very clean. Even had a smart TV! Some cool places writhing walking distance. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Bathroom is mostly outdoors so if it rains and you need to use the toilet you will get wet! Also expect some bugs and critters.

The view and the friendly owners of Mira homestay who are taking care of this place, but are not the owners.

The bad smell of the actual pillow and mattress. The outdoor bathroom for shower is fine, but it also means with rain you will get wet when u visit the toilet or brushing ur teeth at the basin.

it was really worth the money, the beautiful view from terrace and bed is very astonishing, owner was really nice and helpful, the room has big android tv, and the place was quite and comfortable, perfect for avoiding over-crowded nye. Oh, the banana pancakes was delicious.

Bugs, i know the place is surrounded by trees. I forgot to cover the small gap on the door with the curtain and dozens of bugs came in, glad i brought the insect repellent so it was still manageable.

Great Homestay

Lovely staff, beautiful view of the rice fields and the mountain, comfortable and quiet room. Very good warungs nearby (I recommend the warung deva, excellent and run by lovely people).

This new property is awesome!

the place is new. so it's still really clean. with the current price, you already get aircon, big tv, hot shower, and breakfast. the staff is really helpfull, we asked to change the bedsheet when we arrived cus it had some bugs, and he was really fast. they've been really great and there were always smile on their faces. they greeted us like a family and we had breakfast in their place. the place is also really close to the waterfalls (gembleng and jagastru), yellow traverse bridge (jembatan kuning tukad yeh unda), also restaurants. And the most important thing is... THE VIEW IS BREATHTAKING. this is by far my most favorite view ever! I hope I'll see you again soon!

when we arrived, there were some bugs on the bed. but we asked the staff to change it and he immediately changed it. the floor also needed to be swiped. the location is little bit tricky, it's by the end of small alley, but once you got into the property, the view will make you want to stay.
