A peaceful and spectacular escape from the crazy world.

Sidemen is such a beautiful part of Bali. Peaceful and naturally spectacular. Such a wonderful excuse to get out of the hustle and bustle. Darmada is so delightful. From the beautiful coloured cottages to the tranquil gardens and the extraordinary river that passes through… everything was a joy. I’ve stayed in many places in Bali and this is a really special one if you are after peace, creativity and tranquility.

The only negative, and it’s a small one, is that Wi-Fi is not particularly fabulous there.

Five star resort for peace and serenity!

We stayed in the riverside villa and it was perfection. The villa was beautiful decorated, spacious, comfortable beddings and aircon which was much needed for Bali’s weather. The private pool and cabana to chill out whilst watching the river flowing by is peak serenity. The resort grounds was beautifully landscaped and maintained, the villas are so spread out that you will think you have the whole resort to yourself. The staff are all kind and accommodating. The restaurant had the most delicious breakfast and the on-site spa was a bonus too! We will definitely be back!

Jewel in the Jungle near Sideman

This place is a gem, nestled in the jungle on the Telaga river near Sideman. It's quiet and tranquil and service is impeccable. The food was delicious and there was lots of variety; I have allergies and staff made a big effort to make sure food was safe for me to eat. Our room was spectacular. There was a very nice pool. We were also able to get all our laundry done in 24 hours. The resort is remote, though, and a taxi dropped us off and fetched us at the end of our stay.

A different side of Bali

Darmada Eco Resort is a riverside hotel with rooms/villas set in expansive park-like setting. It is very peaceful and *quiet* and a different side of Bali completely unlike the beach resorts or even Ubud. Within a few minutes walk there is the Sideman Rice terrace walks, and up the road within ten minutes walk there are a number of different restaurants with nice views.

I was not a fan out the inside/outside bathrooms. Besides the Sideman rice terrace walks there is not much to do, so tak a book with you.

Its a lovely setting, the river is great, the breakfast was great, and the pool was a very nice setting. The gardens are amazing. The restaurant was reasonable.

Its a bit isolated. Unless you are happy to stay at the resort there's not a great deal to do in the town. The bathroom was a little unusual - its a open air bathroom which is normal for Bali, but the shower area/toilet are only a few feet away from the next door outdoor sitting area. Not enough water provided in the room.

The location was great, the photos on Booking.com need to be changed as they underestimate just how beautiful the place, the gardens, the river, the rooms, the nature actually is... just stunning. Can't wait to come back, everything was just perfect.

What a beautiful resort surrounded by nature. Our rooms was very nice and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and packed us a lunch box as we had to check out very early.

This place feels like heaven on earth.

Everything. The whole property is incredibly beautiful. It feels like a fairy tale. I spent time there with my best friend who had a birthday and it was truly magical. The staff even prepared a small cake for her breakfast. The food is also very delicious. And the river nearby immediately calms my nervous system and it is pure relaxation. The massage was also very good.

THe restaurant was a bit "hit and miss". Breakfast was very good but we had one evening mail where the duck was very rubbery, hence unedible and needed to be returned. We picked something else which was great!

This place is absolutely stunning. By far, it is the most beautiful and relaxing place I've ever been to.

Unless you hire a scooter, you're a bit trapped at the resort, as there are no taxis, and the resort taxi service is expensive.

Great place to unwind and relax

This is the place to be if you want to stay close to nature and relax. I loved sitting beside the river and enjoy the sound of water rushing by. Breakfast was good however, lunch and dinner was a bit bland.

Insane property, a true retreat

Holy moly the grounds were spectacular. The rooms were amazing , the bathroom was to die for. The location was great if you are looking for a serene getaway. I could not believe the white noise of nature. If I could add a video I would. We only stayed one night but would loved to have hoping a yoga class. Food was good as well, Bali standard.

A piece of paradise in Sidemen

The resort is stunning and very well cared for, yet feels natural and blends perfectly into the surroundings. We stayed in the two-bedroom villa with a small infinity pool overlooking the river – the view and sounds of nature made our stay unforgettable. Traveling with our 1.5-year-old daughter was easy here: there are no stairs, and we could use the stroller on the stone paths. The location is great – Sidemen is small enough to walk across in about 30 minutes, and the hotel sits right at the edge of the rice fields, which are magical for morning walks. The restaurant was excellent, the staff kind, and the spa wonderful.

There isn’t a gym, but with the beautiful scenery and open spaces we enjoyed doing our workouts outdoors, which was even better.

Serenity in Sidemen

What an amazing resort. It is in such a beautiful setting with the river roaring by, carving out this wonderful green, lush valley. The resort is so serene and has been thoughtfully laid out giving space and privacy. The staff are simply beautiful - kind, welcoming and thoughtful. We stayed at the River Villa with private pool and it was so special to be able to spend time doing nothing but relaxing, reading and watching the water tumble by. There were plenty of activities on offer though we only did the cookery class and massages both of which were fabulous. The restaurant overlooked the river and the food was so beautifully presented. There's np.need to plan too much in advance - just book your stay then choose from all the many activities when you get there and let the reception staff organise it all for you.

Very pleasant stay in a tropical rainforest

Excellent friendly and professional staff. Very pleasant location right beside river and in amongst tropical vegetation and you could dine alongside the river too. Breakfast offered a few choices and was very adequate. Normal menu a bit limited in choice, the Indonesian food was very nicely presented but I would not recommend the pizza. There are plenty of warungs within walking distance for more choice, although the menus were very similar everywhere. Healthy juices, cocktails, beer and wine, coconut, tea, coffee, cakes available too at the restaurant and all-day dining.

Smoking allowed in restaurant and also guests having what's app calls on speaker in the restaurant made it less pleasant. Wifi hub was too slow to use at our room, we advised staff and they had it looked at but we had to go to restaurant to use wifi which was not so convenient.

Absolutely stunning surroundings and incredibly friendly staff. The restaurant exceeded every expectation — the chef truly deserves a Michelin star!. Overall, though, it was a fantastic stay. Highly recommended!

There were quite a few ants in the bathroom, but that’s to be expected with an outdoor setup. Towels weren’t changed daily, which could be improved

Beautiful property in sublime grounds

Beautiful room and gardens by the river. Spotless. Close to the Sideman rice terrace trekking which is a must. As always the staff were what made it , especially the wonderful Ayu Tiwi

Relaxing stay in the middle of nature

Very friendly welcome and beautiful grounds! The resort is much bigger than expected with a beautiful garden, nice natural swimming pool and restaurant overlooking the river. Very nice breakfast!

Darmada was a beautiful place to stay!

Loved the grounds of the resort. Beautiful gardens everywhere right next to the river. The Villa we had was super comfortable with a stunning bathroom. Staff were lovely and restaurant was great! Enjoyed meeting the owner and Peit who resides there 6 months of the year!

Very hard to get a taxi to take us back to Ubud.

Beautiful and authentic hotel

This place is absolutely wonderful I definitely recommend. They offer different packages so you can enjoy multiple activities, including yoga, an offering class (which was great) and a massage. The staff is friendly yet discrete, it really feels like home. The resort is next to the river in a beautiful place. The rooms are perfect, they have everything you need and are comfortable. If I come back to Sidemen I will definitely stay here again!

Wow. If you came all the way to Bali and only stayed here, it would be worth your trip. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The restaurant was amazing. The location was perfect. The room was so grand. The staff were incredible. My massage was wonderful. I cannot be more grateful for this stay.

Perfect place to relax

The peacefulness and our gorgeous villa. We always choose a quiet place to relax at the beginning of each visit to Bali and Darmada was just perfect. Within minutes of arriving, our whole family all individually said we didn’t want to leave the resort during our stay, and that’s exactly what we did (except for our girls who went to a silver jewellery making class)

Impossible not to relax in this beautiful place.

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Villas surrounded by beautiful gardens, boulder filled river and gurgling streams. The spa has a menu of massages, there is yoga, cooking classes and many other facilities. Staff and owner are lovely. So glad we chose this place.

Can be better but beautiful place

The villa and the welcoming was truly perfect! Love the place and this is so relax! I little bit disappointed about the mention in booking said a bottle of wine or champagne featured in the room, this is not true… only coconut water and after discussion with the manager he offer only a glass of bag wine.. not really happy about that. I was maybe excepting much better for a resort expensive like that, but I do not regret because this is a superb place to escape in the nature!
