Amazing stay in the heart of Kotor’s Old Town

Inside the old town, great location. Very nice host who helped us figure out what to do.

Difficult to find if driving, looking for parking was tough and expensive but part of the deal if you stay in the old town since there are no cars.

Good location but loud from the bar on weekends.

Very convenient location in the old town, short walk from the gate and parking. Private parking was included in the price. The owner gave us a lot of good advises on what to do and where to eat. Thanks Rara.

If you are a party type, then you will not mind the noise and loud music from the bar opposite the Royale House. We were there on a Friday night and it was quiet at around 1 am. Advise to take ear plugs along.

Location was excellent. Also the history. Ra. RA was an exceptional host and went out of his way to help us and give us tips on restaurants and sights to see. Also there were not too many stairs. As an older couple that’s was a big concern. The historic places always have many flights of stairs this apart was on the first floor

Location and host was amazing. The host makes you feel like you are welcome in his country and gives you excellent hospitality. Please contact him directly before booking if you would like a better experience! He can help you acquire taxi that is not going to gouge you and also recommend activities and sights to see in the area while steering you clear of tourist traps that aren't worth your time or money.

The entrance is a little dark and intimidating - but once you're settled it feels very normal.

Amazing location and excellent host.

The host was amazing. We were a little confused about parking and when we contacted him, he met us at the room and then took us and showed us where to park. Then he gave us tips on food and hiking up to the ruins on top on the mountain. This room is in Old City and the morning we were to leave, the water to the entire city shut off. Our host brought a large water container to use while we waited for water. He truly was a pleasure to have as a host. The location of the room was awesome. Right in old city and the room was comfortable and very clean. It is a very old building and had the atmosphere and decor to show its history while still having modern comforts. It was amazing.

It was inconvenient that the water shut off but that was out of everyone’s control. We made due and the host went above and beyond to take care of us. We are used to beds that are a little softer than what was in the room but we slept well. We have stayed in several places on our trip and firm beds seems to be the norm.

Excellent location, outstanding host.

Rara is an excellent host. He gave many great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. He kindly waited in the heat for me to get there being stuck in traffic only a couple of blocks away. Parking is easy to access and the location in the old town can't be beat! Rara kindly provided earplugs as the area is quite noisy at night.

A reasonable option to stay in the Kotor city center, generally recommended.

The apartment is in a good condition, functional and well equipped, A/C works really good, the host was friendly and mostly helpful. The location is in the very city center, close to bars and restaurants and other attractions. The apartment offers parking, but I didn't use it.

You are in the historic city center, no car access - even not for taxis, need to walk (nobody told me that in advance, no info). The noise is very strong, especially on the weekend, even if all the windows shut. The equipment is all basic and cheapo, don't expect any luxury. There is a window, but no view - since the adjacent building is very close.

Perfect location, very comfortable matress, duvets, pillows, coffee, tea, water in the room, parking 300 m from accommodation, all needed facilities and comfort. Very clean and luxury. Amazing host with all information provided in advance and valuable recommendations on spot, thank you Rara! If I visit Kotor again - definitely will choose same location!

Great apartment in the middle of the old town of Kotor

Spacious room with high painted ceiling in a beautiful historic apartment in the middle of the old town of Kotor. Large kitchen with dining room is part of the apartment. Rara was very helpful and nice and even picked us up at the parking lot. Because of the precarious parking situation in the city, the private parking lot is extremely practical. Perfect accommodation to visit amazing Kotor.

There is heavy smoking in the corridor. There are parties in the area at night. This is not the fault of the host, who, on the contrary, tries to get the authorities to respect quiet hours and provides earplugs.

Lovely apartment in a great location with allocated parking and a very friendly host

The host Rara was so friendly and helpful. He met us just outside Kotor old town and showed us where to park in a secure allocated area. This was a huge bonus as parking in Kotor is difficult and expensive. The apartment is located right in the old town very near the cat square and gateway. Very spacious and comfortable apartment with good air-conditioning, fridge and a beautiful ceiling mural. Tea, fruit and water were also provided. Thank you. Rara recommended where we should eat and other tips like where the start of the Kotor Ladder instead of paying for the entrance to the fortress. Thank you. We had a lovely 4 nights here and it was a great base to explore the bay and peninsulas.

It wasn't a problem for us but as it's in the old town there are a few bars nearby with loud music playing quite late. Take earplugs if noise bothers you!

Location to be in the old town was wonderful. Rara, our host, was exceptionally helpful, hospitable, friendly. We enjoyed our conversations!

Unfortunately the perk of being right in the middle of the old town comes with the possibility of loud music and people up late. Perhaps it was because we were there on a Saturday night.

The wine bar across the alley played ear splitting music every night until 2am which made for a very tiring time. Rara Should tell the wine bar to bounce on Down the road And set up shop where people are not staying.

Beautiful, spacious apartment in old town, a lot of old character but modern. Kitchen has the basics. As others have said noise at night can be an issue but the windows are pretty good at soundproofing so just take earplugs. It’s worth staying in Old town.

The hotel manager was amazing. He met us in the car park, took our bags upstairs and then offered us a drink in reception. He also surprised us with a bottle of wine for our anniversary and helped us with booking a restaurant he recommended.

Our host Rara was exceptionally helpful with information about places to visit. He was very concerned that we enjoy our time in Montenegro - which we very much did. There isn’t a washing machine but Rara arranged for some washing to be done at no extra cost.

The bar opposite was noisy at night time but did stop at midnight. Ear plugs helped us. But the location was excellent and we were pleased to be in the Old Town.

The property is well located, good facilities and very very clean. Rara is a good host and very organised and accommodating, he knows lots about the area and was able to sort out transfers very easily.

It’s noisy a bit outside as it’s opposite a bar but not as bad as other places in old town and with some earbuds I didn’t feel disturbed and slept well.

It's a fully furnished apartment inside old town . Very pretty and comfortable and we got a private gated parking . Rara was amazing host , very helpful and friendly , who took time and explained about all landmarks . Apartment is on first floor so not much worry carrying luggage over stairs.

A fabulous apartment well situated within Kotor old town. The apartment was very clean, easy to access and the free parking provided was a great help! Our host was incredibly helpful, advising on places to eat and drink, where to see the best views of the city and things to do whilst in town. Absolutely faultless stay!

The room was much larger than I anticipated. It felt like living in the city, equipped with a kitchen and a huge room with a sitting area. RARA, the host/owner is amazing. He took great care of everything and was a pleasure to deal with. He did a great job accommodating me with the city and tours.

Incredible stay at an amazing location in Kotor.

My husband and I loved staying at the apartment during our time in Kotor. The apartment was large, clean, and had all the amenities we needed during our trip. We loved the styling and comfort of the room. Plus, the location of this place is fantastic. You can walk right out into the main streets of the city. The host, Rara, is the best. He took care of us incredibly well by explaining the layout of the city, the best times for our activities and helping us book our excursions.

The bathroom was a little small.

Exceptional

Rara is an excellent host and went out of his way to let us check in earlier and check out later. As a real Kotor local, he also recommended restaurants and arranged a boat trip for us. The apartment is located right in the centre of the Old Town and very clean and convenient. It has a living room with two beds, and separate kitchen and bathroom. We stayed there with our 7-year old daughter and fully enjoyed it.

Nothing, really. Because it is located in the centre, you will of course pick up some noise from outside, but the windows are excellently isolated and everything is quiet at night. We had a great night's sleep.

Highly recommend Royal House!

Nothing but good things to say about Royal House! Firstly, the room we stayed in was very comfy, clean and fresh. Even though it was at the center of Old town, the noises from the street were pretty well blocked and we slept great. The location was perfect for us, everything you might need is by walking distance and the views are one of the best Montenegro can offer. The best thing about our stay in Royal House was the host, Rara. He helped us with everything; renting a car, giving tips about places to see and where to eat, took care of our city registration etc. He really did more than we could ever wish for and made sure our stay was going as smoothly as possible.
