Gardeners Cottage B and B

Quiet location but within easy walking distance of the centre of Bakewell. The whole property was tastefully decorated - loved the window seat in our room. Plenty of storage (you can never have enough drawer-space when on holiday and our room had loads). Tea and coffee in the room was plentiful (there was even a coffee percolator and grounds). Bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was expertly cooked by our host Ivan and there was ample choice. There was also plenty of information available about things to do in the area and recommendations of places to eat which was very helpful.

If we had to be picky, the only potential downside for us was that each of the 4 rooms had an allocated breakfast time slot between 8:30 and 9:30. We were lucky enough to get the 8:30 slot as for us a later time would have eaten into our plans for the day.

Loved the location and quiet setting. Incredibly clean plus a fantastic breakfast.

This is very minor but the mattress was a little soft. However, this was not and a deal breaker for us as everything else was perfect.

Nice quant pretty bedroom, excellent curtains that kept the room dark and lovely views of the garden. Bathroom spacious and good shower towels provided of good quality. We had room 4. David was a lovely man who welcomed us. Lucy who cooked breakfast was so nice & friendly and breakfast was lovely and filling tea/coffee were all good.

It wasn’t a big issue and it didn’t spoil our stay but a bit more attention to cobwebs & dust & under the bed could have done with a bit of clean. But it honestly wasn’t an issue just pointing it out because these could have just been overlooked/not noticed.
