Lovely

The location to town and main square was closer than expected. Self check in was easy, free parking, lovely huge bed that was very comfortable, roll top bath a lovely treat and huge shower. Lovely huge fluffy towels. Breakfast you could have cereal juice, cooked breakfast as much toast and tea and coffee as you like. Sarah was very attentive and asked if anything else was needed and if everything was ok. We would come back.

It was a little bit too basic in decor and furnishings. I was expecting more for the price. I found it lacking in atmosphere and decadence.

Perfect location for the town. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Free parking and a delicious breakfast. Our 4th visit, so says it all!

A very pleasant stay in a property with character

Lovely house and decor in an interesting town with lots of eating places and greenery.. Perfect breakfast. Very pleasant hostess. Very easy to find. Bed very comfortable and a great bathroom.

The climb to the loft room could be tiring. especially after several climbs. Only occasionally bumped my head ( room 6). Definitely not haunted ! Very quiet in all respects.

Avenue Hoise was a great place for us to stay for a long weekend. The breakfasts were delicious! Staff very friendly and our room was very comfortable.

I think the only downside was the traffic noise from the road outside but as we weren’t in the room much it was ok.

Great room and the bed was so comfy. I stayed in the twin room with my sister. Breakfast the next day was lovey and the owners are so nice and accommodating. 5 min walk just up the street and your in the heart of Bakewell town.

Exceptionally professional.and considerate owner

We cannot fault Bryan, proprietor of Avenue House. Due to an administrative error, our room was double booked. He contacted us that morning to let us know, reserved alternative (excellent) accommodation for us, and covered the difference in cost. Thank you very much!

Pleasant hotel in a great location

Very clean and comfortable hotel in a great location, a short walk from Bakewell centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful particularly when the TV in our room wouldnt work. As soon as we notified them it was rectified without drama. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and served with a smile.

Our room was up 2 flights of steep stairs. To be fair this had been referenced in the hotel info, however they were still a little steeper than expected! The towels were tired and quite worn and let the room down a little.

Homely and welcoming. A holiday with a hug!

Fabulous location, a hop step and jump into Bakewell. Breakfast was lovely. Alison made us feel super welcome. She is deffo in the right place, front of house. Nothing was too much. Room large and bathroom beautiful. Would highly recommend. Thank you for everything.

Excellent! A peaceful atmosphere - just what we needed!

Breakfasts were excellent and gave my sister and I a good start to our days of sightseeing! Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Shower was excellent. A suggestion would be to consider adding a small shelf by the shower, to avoid reaching down for shampoo, conditioner, etc. Staff were lovely and very helpful with any questions we had. I would certainly book again if I/we have another short break in/near Bakewell! Many thanks! 🌞

Very comfortable, pleasant stay.

Large room, good bathroom, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed. Everything went smoothly with the self check-in etc. Room key worked no problem/ did not play up, etc. It's very close to Rutland Arms Hotel which has a fabulous restaurant.

The breakfast could be much better! Same price for single as double occupancy - which is often the case, but I don't like paying for two breakfasts when I'm alone and, moreover, given that it was not "exceptional", as booking.com describes it!
