Nyuh Gading Home Stay

I loved my stay here, it was clean and comfortable and the staff were so friendly! Very chill and great location next to amazing dive centre Dive Concepts.

It’s not a social hostel for meeting other travellers aside from in your dorm room. No one hangs out in the communal area downstairs so I wouldn’t stay here if I was looking to meet lots of people.

The staff are AWESOME! So friendly and helpful. The location is very close to the beach and one of the ferry ports (1 minute walk). I liked the laundry service (I was there for over 3 weeks so I used this often). I only ate there a couple of times, and the food was good. I liked that I had a little fridge in my room, even though it was quite old and missing a shelf, it served it's pupose.

The room could use some upgrades and better lighting. (very dim). My room was on the second floor and I often got a very strong smoke smell in my room from people smoking in the 'smoking' section in the common area (on the main floor below my balcony). Not really the homestay's fault, but the path (narrow alley) that leads to the homestay could use some repairs. The potholes made it challenging and it flooded every time it rained (I was there in February so it rained quite often). A lot of the roads have massive pot holes and flood when it rains, so this is not unique to Nyuh Gading, but the road it is on and the alley leading to it are particularly bad in comparison. (probably not as big of a deal when its not rainy season).

Near to beach and staff are lovely. Room had a lovely balcony!

Pool wasn’t working unfortunately

The property is close to the beach, despite the fact you cannot walk straight to the beach. You need to walk a few minutes around until you can actually reach the beach.

The room didn’t look like the pictures. The walls need maintenance and you enter straight into the bathroom before you reach your room. The property didn’t feel so welcoming as there was constantly a big group of staff lounging at the entrance and common places. There was also constant noise from the ac of the hotel next to it. You need to pay for water refills. It is hard to imagine when this property might have been a 8/9 rating. It definitely is not right now.
