Welcoming owners, unique and comfy property.

Rural location, comfy bedroom and generous bathroom with lots of toiletries. Even a chocolate to end our day of travelling 😋 Breakfast room was very warm and welcoming with a huge open fire and breakfast was delicious. We were made to feel very welcome and even sent on our journey the next day with a packed lunch.

Wish we had taken swimming things - there was a lovely warm pool!!

Fun & friendly place to stay and explore an interesting area.

The place has a lovely nature vibe with many animals and plants, as well as interesting history. The accommodation was comfortable and spacious, if a little quirky. The pool was excellent. Bart's hospitality was awesome - we enjoyed a lovely home cooked meal in the evening. All in all, we had a thoroughly great stay at B&B 't Zwaluwnest for the first night of our holiday. The location is perfect for visiting Ypres, other battlefield sites, and the famous Belgian cycling classic roads.

The internet could be a bit better, but actually it was good not to be drawn to it!

A wonderful stop in Ypres!

The people who ran the hotel were wonderful - very friendly, helpful and generous. When we arrived, we were immediately invited to sit with them and their friends for a coffee, a glass of wine and nibbles, and shown around the place. Dinner, prepared by Bart, the owner, was excellent, as was the breakfast the next day. We can honestly say that our stay at 't Zwaluwnest was one of the best and most memorable in all of our travelling experiences. Many thanks to Bart and Razade for making this such an excellent visit.

Great hospitality and enjoyable

Breakfast is fresh (pancakes, eggs with bacon, fruit), delicious and a lot. A huge area and our dog enjoyed running around freely. Dinner is very delicious too. Bart is very accommodating. We didn't reserve but we could still eat if we wanted which we did.

We opened the window as it's warm and we invited mosquitoes into the room.

A total gem, prepare to be astonished

Unbelievable, Bart is an exceptional host and talent. One word sums him up, passionate. It’s so obvious that he is completely committed to ensuring you are comfortable and happy. The absolute highest praise must go to the unbelievable food. It is the highest quality and an example of fine cuisine. Totally unexpected!! The property is unique and beautiful and Bart shows the highest standards in everything he does. Go, have dinner! I assure you from the bottom of my heart you won’t be disappointed.

The property is beautiful and in an stunning setting The hosts were amazing so kind and helpful.

The outside areas of property could be cleaner and I don’t want to disrespect the wonderful hosts in any way. The outside areas such as hammocks and seating areas were in need of a clean. We would have used the sun beds and hammocks in the garden close to our room but they were a bit grubby. If the hosts addressed these little details on cleanliness this would be outstanding and such a beautiful stay. I would highly recommend their new glamping pod it’s is beautiful.

Everything about the stay was perfect. The property is situated in beautiful countryside and the bedrooms are large and decorated to a high standard. The hosts, Razade and Bart, are very welcoming and kind. The breakfast substantial and excellent quality.. There are footpaths among the fields to walk the dog. Close proximity to local restataurants, Ypres and all the War memorials/museums. The property itself was utilised as the British Command Post in WW1, and Bart is happy to show you the arial photographs, relics of weaponary etc.

Great stay!

We stayed with 3 children and arrived late at night, but the fire had been lit in our sitting room and just made the whole place so cosy and welcoming. Breakfast was also delicious with great bread and pastries!

what a fabulous retreat to relax and unwind.

We stayed at 't zwaluwnest for one night after a long three days travelling from Latvia with our two cats and heading back to the uk for the start of a new military posting. As we drew up we just knew that this was going to be a real treat of a place to stay and we weren’t disappointed. Bart and his wife were very friendly and accommodating and we were made very welcome. We’d asked if the cats could stay in the rooms with us and that wasn’t a problem. We had messaged beforehand if we could possibly have dinner, not realising then that Bart is a wonderful chef and teaches at the Flanders culinary arts centre which is situated in the former Three-Michelin-Star restaurant 'De Karmeliet’ in the centre of Bruges. Sadly for us Bart was teaching early the next morning, so it wasn’t possible this time, but we will be back to sample Bart’s culinary prowess very soon. We had a lovely apartment to relax in and eat cheese, bread and drink nice wine, with happy cats, what more could you want! My husband is a British army officer so he was very interested to find out that the farm had been a British command post in WW1. Bart showed us a lot of artefacts he had found in the fields which was so interesting and made us more determined that we’d stay there again when we come across to do some battle field tours. We ended our lovely stay with a wonderful early breakfast, as the sun was raising, in front of their huge fireplace which Bart had kindly lit for us and we delighted in a variety of homemade bread, jam, apple juice and local products, not to mention fantastic coffee!! We can’t recommend visiting Bart and his wonderful farm/ vineyard enough.

That we didn’t have the chance to sample the wonderful food, but will do next time.

A totally different place to stay

If you’re looking for a plush hotel with carpets and all matching accessories, don’t come here. If you’re looking for somewhere completely different with loads of room and a quiet location, this is for you. It’s good to get away from everything and relax in peace and quiet. Quirky would be a good word for this accommodation. We really enjoyed it.

Very friendly hosts ! These folks deserve the Medal for Hospitality. Clean room, Everything in working order. Stable and fast internet. Comfortable bed. On-site parking.

No negative points. Just 1 recommendation: Consider (big) mirror outside the bathroom. The bathroom mirror tends to get foggy after the shower.

Voor veel verbetering vatbaar!

De locatie is echt wel super en er zou echt wel iets moois van te maken zijn. Het ontbijt was wel ok.

De hygiëne was niet echt aanwezig , de tenten waren nog wel ok maar de douche, eetruimte, keuken en toog hebben een zeer grondige poetsbeurt nodig. Er waren wel wat dingen stuk zoals handdoekhouder en kraanwerk aan lavabo, en hier is er ook maar één van aanwezig! De douches zijn niet meer van deze tijd en echt vies. Het algemeen onderhoud van het domein is echt hopeloos, overal onkruid en verwilderd uitzicht, dus niet zoals op de foto's op de site! We hebben 'savonds daar gegeten en dit was veeeeeel te zout zodat je niet meer echt proefde wat je aan het eten was, en de frieten waren plat en te vettig.

Een menu die op het moment klaargemaakt wordt door de Chef—gastheer in de grote open keuken uitgevend op de rest van het nonchalante maar propere en gezellige restaurant waar we konden aperitieven bij het brandend vuur v d open haard.

- te weinig druk op de douche op het 1ste verdiep (in het loft-huis) waardr er een kleine straal water was - menukaart graag wat meer op voorhand beslissen zodat we konden delen met de rest v d groep

Schöner Stopover im Landhaus

Sehr hübscher Hof, idyllisch und ruhig. Spätanreise war kein Problem, wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Sehr gemütliches Zimmer. Große Auswahl beim Frühstück, leckeres Brot und warme Mini-Croissants, viel Obst und es gab sogar frisch gemachte Crèpes.

Der Kaffee beim Frühstück. Leider nur eine Maschine (jede kleine Tasse einzeln) für alle Gäste beim Frühstück, so dass es ständig zu "Stau" kam und der Kaffee schmeckte mir leider auch nicht, was sicherlich Geschmackssache ist). Generell finde ich es immer besser, wenn Marmelade, Butter etc beim Frühstück nicht einzeln in Plastik verpackt sind. Das ließe sich noch verbessern.

Het ontbijt was fantastisch. Ook hebben we er avond eten gegeten en het was een prachtige prijs kwaliteit verhouding. De gastheer en vrouw zijn super vriendelijke mensen. Het was een heel warm onthaal en we hebben een tour van de b&b toen we toekwamen. Twijfel niet om dit verblijf te boeken! Het is zeker je geld waard.

E' stato difficile raggiungere il B/B che sta in mezzo alla campagna, ma una volta raggiunto siamo stati premiati per accoglienza e disponibilità. La seconda sera ci hanno preparato una cenetta solo per noi con caminone accesso nella grande sala. A conduzione famigliare la moglie si è fatta in 4 per accoglierci parlando anche un pò in italiano ( lei è del Senegal )

Excellent séjour dans un bel endroit calme.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Bart et son épouse. Ils sont charmants. L'endroit est très agréable et nous y avons très bien mangé. La cuisine de Bart est excellente et nous y retournerons certainement pour déguster ses bons plats. Le petit-déjeuner est également excellent. Nous nous sommes sentis en famille.

si je dois mentionner quelque chose, je dirais que l'éclairage dans le coin douche n'est pas assez lumineux pour nous. Mais c'est mon opinion.

Une grande salle commune où le petit déjeuner gargantuesque avec des produits frais, des charcuteries rissolées ou fraîches, des oeufs brouillés moelleux, des viennoiseries, du pain maison encore chaud, des laitages, des fruits, des crêpes réalisées par notre hôte, le tout à profusion. Wat een prachtige locatie met super gastvrije mensen! Een beetje zoals thuiskomen bij een hechte familie. Niks is teveel, je wordt ontzettend goed gesoigneerd!

Het enigste minpuntje was de hygiëne van de douche (geur die uit de afvoer kwam), maar dat is denk ik snel opgelost met wat ontstopper :)
