Neat place to stay in a beautiful village with wonderful hosts

The property is very central and surrounded by two lovely beaches, cafes and stores. The hosts had helpful tips and readily available to us.

It’s a little noisy- although to be fair one living village style means a guest must expect some disruption & one of the nearby restaurants hosted a celebration so that was a one off .

Amazing stay in Sestri Levante

Absolutely amazing place to stay in Sestri Levante. Francesco and Marzia are fabulous hosts and do their very best to make your stay as good as possible. Everything from picking you up and driving you to the train station, suggesting places to see and restaurants to dine and making sure you have what you desire for breakfast. The location can't be beaten, at the start of the pedestrian street, literally 30 meters from the beach and a cross the street from the first restaurant. Everything is within walking distance. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful B&B located in the historical center of Sestri Levante with convenient access to lovely beaches, the town’s main promenade and restaurants/shops, including a great Gelateria just downstairs from the property. Marzia and Francesco are the best hosts ever: providing a delicious breakfast every morning, tips for restaurants/outings and even puck up/drop off at the train station. We would love to return to B&B Portobello! Grazie Mille!

Great vacation spot to explore the gulf of Tiguglio.

Ideal location between Sestri Levante’s two bays, in the heart of the restaurant areas. Hosts are extremely helpful and gave us a lot of tips on stuff to do around. Great breakfast!!

Great short stay in a lovely town

Great location and friendly hosts. Nice breakfast with great view from the room. Easy check in and out. Although the property is very central to both beaches and bars and restaurants it had good glazing so was very quiet at night.

Bed was a bit too soft compared with our normal choice and aircon didn’t seem to go below 23.5c so it was just a bit too hot.

A gem in Western Liguria

The Bed and Breakfast is a gem in Sestri Levante - all is there, of course, if you do not expect extras which only 4- or 5-star chain hotels can boast of. This accommodation is for those who love homelike atmosphere and care. The owner, Francesco, is a great host and a person. He gives good tips on where to eat and relax, what to see and do, and how to get to the local sights which Liguria abounds with. His wife, who is also in the business, is also a great personality. I really felt at home at their place. These positive emotions fortify when you get around the property and find that the Portobello is in between two sand beaches - one in the East where the sun rises and one in the West, where the sun sets. In front there is a square with a small cathedral in it. From the windows we got stunning views of the beaches, the cathedral, and the castle which mounts behind it. The B&B is in a 10-minute stroll from the railway station, which is a pleasant walk along the small town's streets. Around the property there are plenty of shops, pasticerias, small cafes and restaurants. In the morning the hosts offer an excellent breakfast, and through the day you can get tea and coffee and some snacks. I shall get back one day, no doubts. Thank you very much, Francesco and Marzia, and all your staff.

Friendly, welcoming hosts with a truly traditional Italian atmosphere throughout. A pleasant change from hotels with no atmosphere. Breakfast was superb, again with an Italian theme, hot and cold options always available and cooked to the highest standard. Our hosts could not do enough for us, always keen to make our stay memorable.

Exceptional attention to detail and service from the owner, Francesco. He provided an explanation of the local area and highlighted the best restaurants to dine at with amazing local insight. Breakfast is provided locally and snacks are available at the apartment, free of charge. Highly recommended for travellers wanting a place to rest during hikes or to relax.

Lovely Hosts and great B&B

Francesco welcomed us warmly at his B&B and offered us a free drink right away. He even offered to pick us up from the train station, which was not neseccery as the old town, where the B&B is located, was just a few minutes walk away. From our room me had a marvellous view of the beach. To go for a swim or to a beach bar one must just walk around the corner. The B&B is located in an old building and Francesco and Marzia did a great job in renovating the place. We started our hike along the coastline from there and were very setisfied with the breakfast, that brought us through the day. We will defiantly stay there again some time soon.

A little heaven between 2 bays

I went there as a solo traveller and felt immediately welcomed, safe and at home. An absolute heaven located in between the 2 bays, it was a like a dream waking up in this place and having a super large and tasty breakfast looking out at the sea. The most generous hosts one could ever meet. I was kindly greeted at the train station, offered help with my luggage. Same on the way back. Totally recommended!

The place to stay in sestri levante!

We really enjoyed our stay in b&b portobello! The staff was very welcoming and warm, helpful and they gave us good tips for our holiday. Our room had a beautiful view to a church, airconditioning and a fridge and was cleaned daily. The location was perfect: in the old town and few meters away from the free beach. Breakfast was excellent: coffee and juice, croissants, foccacia, yogurt, fresh fruits, ham and cheeses. We would definately recommend this to our friends and would visit again :)

Our room and shower was quite small. Maybe for the future visit we might upgrade ourselves in to a bit bigger room

An outstanding trip to Sestri Levante.

The B&B is in an ideal location: The distance to the two beaches and the best restaurants is phenomenal. The room is clean, charming and has everything you need. The hosts made our stay perfect!! They are super kind, attentive, funny, give good tips and make a great breakfast with the best foccacia. We felt very comfortable and would book here again - maybe in winter...

Oh, there's so much good to say about Portobello B&B! A top, central location in the very heart of Sestri Levante. Nice rooms with furniture in original Italian style. Excellent breakfasts that include the original ligurian focaccia. And the best of all: the kindest, nicest and most knowledgeable Italian hosts that you'll ever find. At the end of your stay, they'll be the very reason why you're sorry to leave Sestri Levante. You won't regret it!

Like a fairy tale

First, I must say that in the three weeks I spent in Italy in September and October this was the best accommodation. Francesco and Marzia are so helpful and go out of their way to provide suggestions for restaurants or activities and when I wanted to take either a boat or a train or a bus they took the time to find for me the schedules, and provided tips on how to best enjoy the places I wanted to visit, and what to avoid, providing also very clear directions; for example, where to take the hiking trails, where's the bus stop, etc. They are very friendly and look after their guests like we're family. The breakfasts were excellent also, with little extras that made all the difference. I strongly recommend.

The place is very central and a few foodsteps from the beach and the bars&restairants in the old town. Even if there is noise in the street you can‘t hear anything as the windows are very good isolated. Marzia&Francesco are lovely people! There is a really good breakfat with a wonderful view of the sea, perfect to start the day like that!!

We had a good time!
