Perfect location with the beach nearby.

This hotel has a perfect location in the city center with lots of restaurants around and the beach across the road. The beach is with additional charge, as well as the parking. The room is of a good size, shower is comfortable. The room was very clean and the staff is very kind and helpful.

Peaceful stay in a beautiful location, grand surroundings with friendly helpful staff.

Our room was lovely, quirky (a door leading up some stairs to a roof-balcony!) and the bed was extremely comfortable. Location was amazing, right on the seafront and in the middle of the town. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Delicious cakes!

Villa Balbi is very grand and it therefore seemed a shame that some of the decor needed love and attention. There were plastic 'glasses' in the bathroom which seemed at odds with the beautiful 'feel' of the hotel.

Overall, great location and staff makes this hotel a good choice for Sestri Levante

The room was newly renovated. The staff (at the reception, at the restaurant, lifeguard) were highly attentive. The pool was very clean.

Breakfast was a little bare bone. I think it’s a common thing but having to pay €50 extra for beach club access is a little too much.

Great stay in a fantastic location

The property is in a fantastic location and has great facilities - some stunning original features also. We thought the staff were great - attentive and professional but personable and nice all at the same time. The restaurant and bar were our favourite during the trip - the tastiest food we experienced in our 4 night stay and the best negroni sbagliato in town! The breakfast service is excellent, of a high standard and quality for a buffet offering. The pool area makes for a peaceful retreat when the beach is busy. Our only observation is that the rooms are a little dated in places but the furnishings are nice and it is a traditional hotel. Thank you for our lovely stay.

A very nice stay in a perfectly located hotel for the town.

Excellent location, very central. The breakfast very nice, lots of choice and pleasant setting. We also ate here in the evening on a couple of nights which was lovely. Food and service excellent. The room was lovely very spacious, modern and clean. The pool area was nice, particularly for a central hotel.

One 'niggle' was the hire of 5 euros per day/per person for pool towels, something we have not come across in a long time, and the cost of sunbed hire of 50 euros per person/per day on the hotel private beach. Fortunately we were a couple travelling on our own but feel this is very costly if travelling with a family.

Lovely place to stay, right on the promenade

Fabulous breakfast (you could even have cake if that floated your boat). The Concierges were very helpful and most speak good English. Thank you especially to Massimillio on the front desk. Bedrooms were provided with comfy beds, lovely big towels and aircon (a must!)

Beautiful Hotel and Staff. our favourite stay in Italy

we have been to Italy many many times. we have been to Rome Florence Bologna Pisa Lake Garda Lucca . This hotel and staff rooms everything was perfect. we booked for one night and stayed three. we didn’t want to leave. it was our silver wedding anniversary and we were made very welcome at this wonderful hotel. can’t wait to come back. Our favourite place in Italy. Thankyou.

Great location, but extremely overpriced. I was expecting better.

Great location - town centre, close to the train station and to the beach

I am very sorry to say that but for this money I was expecting better. It is quite expensive hotel, and unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. 1. First of all we slept very bad. We booked a room with double bed but instead we got a room with 2 single beds pushed together, pretending to be a double bed. It was extremely uncomfortable. As a couple, we sleep in the middle of the bed, so I was literally falling down between the 2 beds. 3 sleepless nights. We mentioned that in reception but the only help was asking the room service to... tie the beds together... Shocking. 2. Room service took our snacks and drinks that we bought in the bar the night before. Nothing too fancy, just overpriced nuts and crisps, but considering how much we had to pay for them, we wanted to actually eat them... the same with drinks. My full glass of drik was taken from my room without my permission. 3. Room service never left a spare toilet roll. 4. No kettle 5. Breakfast too basic 6. Strange sockets - non of our european plugs fitted in. Fortunately we discovered that the fridge was actually plugged in using a converter. So to be able to charge our phones we had to unplug the fridge to use the converter. Unfortunately it left us without working fridge... 7. Water in the shower at 6am was cold.

We have a truly wonderful time in Sestri, staying in a wonderful hotel.

Excellent breakfast, staff were often outstanding, polite as well as being appropriately sociable. Pool and gardens excellent. We will be back to stay again.

We would have liked 2 easy chairs in our room given we stayed for 12 nights, rather than having to sit on the bed all the time.

our AC didn’t work in one of the rooms and it was deadly hot, the staff working that afternoon and night did not believe us when we reported that the ac was not working and did not help us with our problem. this caused us to have a bad night and a bad experience with the hotel.

Room in less tasteful secondary building. Room size too small. Breakfast on 1-2 star pension level. Nearly all staff uninterested. Parking service damaged my car and played the innocent. Reception useless. Parking space limited. On departure I was told that luggage service works only from 09:00. Price (€270) 2-3 times of what it should be. Hotel in bad need of new management

R&C: Villa Balbi

We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, the garden and the pool. Our room on the sixth floor had a view of both bays. Fantastic breakfast. Francesco at the bar is clearly the nicest bartender ever.

Really there's nothing to dislike. The mosquitoes maybe? But there is an appliance in the room to repel them. It would have been nice to have real glasses instead of plastic ones at the pool bar, but we get that sometimes it is a necessary evil.

In the Heart of Sestri

As usual, this Hotel always meets the expectations. Staff is 5 stars and always ready to help and bedrooms are big, clean and very comfy. It's really close to the beach and they even have their own sunbeds area in the beach (for an extra cost, but almost the whole beach is paid and can be difficult to get a sunbed, so this is really good). Also close to all the restaurants and bars but still enough far away to avoid the noise when you come back to the Hotel. It's always my go-to Hotel when visiting Sestri!

Reality beats pictures - we found the place much nicer in reality than the impression we got online. Great property in a nice location, wonderful garden and pool area. Very nice outdoor breakfast restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff all around!
