The smell from the bathroom was disgusting. And closing the doors didn't help.
Bathtub wasn't clean and the idea of having a shower there was terrifying.
Being 176cm tall, I still fell like climbing onto the super high bed was a mission.

Great location and well maintained property. Doesn’t feel like you are in the city and in the evening it’s pretty quiet. Staff were very helpful. Loved the pool.

A beautiful oasis, in the heart of Ubud but so secluded you barely hear any noise. Very helpful staff who assisted quickly with a room change due to a minor issue.

It’s well located and the space is really nice.
Everything was good, I was only there for one night.

The staff were friendly accommodation and polite.
The room was mouldy, dusty, the mosquito nets were caked in dust the room seemed like it had not been occupied for months. It maybe very different vibe in tourist season but during off season it’s like an abandoned resort, similar to the shinning- no one around rooms unkempt and actually not healthy. Sure it was cheap but I’d rather pay more and stay somewhere where ur not gonna get mould toxicity. Super disappointing.

Convenient location. Nice swimming pool. Privacy.
Long walkway from road to the property

I had the best experience ever at Alam Terrace Cottage. It’s a hidden gem right in the heart of central Ubud! The staff were absolutely exceptional—so kind, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating.
My room was big, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the forest, which made the stay even more magical. The location is perfect, super central yet peaceful.
I will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ubud.

Comfortable bed, staff lovely
A bit rundown, pool too chlorinated, breakfast disappointing, only 1 broken umbrella available to us when it was pouring with rain and we were dressed for a wedding. Thankfully rain stopped in time for us to leave. Perhaps an umbrella in every room would be a good idea given how much it rains in Bali.

Quite, despite being in big town/small city it was quite, felt like in the middle of jungle, lovely big balcony overlooking the pool
Slight smell in the bathroom

Location was decent, staff were very friendly
The room did not feel clean, there was very, very little water pressure, the towels smelled like a cat peed on them, and the pillows were extremely lumpy and old

Location was excellent close to the Ubud market. The staff were very professional, calm and kind.

It was out first stay in Bali for honey moon and the staff was incredibly amazing! They made it extra special for us! We couldn’t have asked for better. The swimming pool was always super clean and big. Super close to both monkey forest and ubud market, we would definitely come back

Beautiful buildings down a lush long alley, private with stunning views and great pool.
Excellent staff, clean rooms. Good location with lots to do around the area, close to the Lotus Palace and arts market.
Bathrooms need work and our room was very dark.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was surrounded by lush green.
I don’t think we will return to this hotel. Despite the great location and very friendly staff, the hardware in this hotel wasn’t really updated. The thing we disliked the most was the water pressure in the shower. We looked forward to a good hot shower after a long day of touring but it was disappointing. The water in the sink was the same. It also sprinkled everywhere. The towels we had were ripped in a couple places.
We brought international adapter but it didn’t go into the power outlet because of the interior design. The wood panel completely blocked our adapter. We borrowed an adapter from the hotel and had to buy a new one for our phones and laptop.
If you don’t mind any of the things mentioned, this would still be a great place to stay.

Beautiful setting, big comfortable bed, stunning views and very tranquil. Terrific staff. Love the old stone and traditional Balinese style. Good location

The bathroom was big, but not well organized. The floor shower at the entrance was not very comfortable.

The bed was very uncomfortable.

The location was spot on! Everything is walking distance. You have the bars, shops , restaurants and spas at walking distance. Monkey forest is also walking distance. You have the peacefulness and tranquility of the hotel with large rooms, clean swimming pool and lovely staff. I am already planning my holiday for next year to bring the family here. Love it. Photo of the best spa, we tried others and our favourite restaurant 7 minutes walk. Great bar across.
Towels could smell a little nicer.

We were lucky and had too far corner room with large bedroom and balcony and felt really private
The bathroom needs a good overhaul and let the rest of the room down, odd / weird set up with stones you have to walk across to get to the shower and toilet.
Maybe a bit less chlorine in the pool

Gorgeous, felt properly in the jungle, very private and felt very tranquil
Down an alley off the main road and signage wasn’t fully clear on how to access, lots of steps!

excellent location, close to everything, but also very quiet. Nice area around the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful
The room had a strong musty smell, likely due to humidity — it was actually hard to sleep there.

The property was mostly well kept and beautiful scenery, staff were so kind and welcoming and helpful!
It was off the road so hard to find at first, the bed was squeaky and woke up everytime we moved there was also no safe in the room.

Big, comfortable and traditional room. Amazing terrace with a nice and relaxing “jungle” view, beautiful swimming pool. Location is very central, but place is quiet, despite the chaos of the town.
Bathroom indeed lacking basics such as toiletries, toilet paper and hair dryer, cleaning could be done a bit more attentively (but staff promptly intervened when notified). Very touristic area, not ideal for those who are after something more remote.

Beautiful place, the staff are amazingly friendly. Very close to Ubud center, and it's craziness, yet a quiet piece of paradise to relax and recharge in. Fantastic value for money.
Unfortunately we had some noisy upstairs neighbors that made getting a good night's sleep basically impossible.

Nice, quiet place surrounded with forest with a fantastic pool to chill.
Spacious, clean, comfy rooms. Staff was kind, helpful, communication was easy with them.

Great staff very helpful and friendly. The location is fantastic, quiet and set off jalan bisma, with views of jungle and sounds of nature, yet just a few seconds from the bustle of bisma and then one at the end of bisma you are on the very busy Main Street.
The pool was great and it was great having direct access with the family rooms on the ground floor. The other good thing is that you can access the sacred monkey Forrest in just 10 mins by walking the opposite direction to town.It was also lovely being served breakfast on your terrace facing the pool. I would highly recommend this place
The room is a bit humid (I understand this is inevitable in the area) and you do notice a smell when you enter but we discovered the “dry” function on the aircon which really helped and it didn’t bother me in the end.

It's in the center of Ubod but it's secluded from noise And crown. Ilove the presence of trees, plants, overall it was great.
I like everything but you have to be physically fit to stay in here because you have to go down several steps for the ist floor then you have to go up for more steps to get to the ist floor. I am fit but I still get tired going down then up.

Great location, and staff.
On-site food options were basic but fine. Would be great to have a more extensive menu especially one catering to food allergies.

Room and balcony are very nice. Location is half way between the monkey forest and the city center (Water palace, Ubud palace).
The bath tube was really dirty and awful, seemed it was not cleaned for ages. Neither water drain was working properly. This is the only, but really big negative point.

The Staff are very accommodating.
Please provide white lights in room to compliment the yellow light and the room itself.

Great location and beautiful old buildings. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are simple, reflecting the price paid - totally fine, but nothing special.
There are lots of steep steps all over the property - not recommended for elderly, frail or if you are in any way unsteady on your feet. As it was rainy season, these steps got slippery and dangerous. A good scrub to get the algae and moss off could have solved that problem.

- really nice staff;
- outdoor space is beautiful, so as the view from the balcony;
- very close to the center and still out of the village noise;
- close to several restaurants, supermarkets, bars and atm (up to 5 min walking distance along the street)
- at 5am we were awaken by a weird noise of animals moving outside quickly - after confirming with the staff it was probably some monkeys or bats;
- when we were by the pool a group of monkeys invaded the outdoor space and caught us by surprise. They hunted and caught all food they other guests left at the balcony. The staff members were quick to act though!
