Amazing stay. Amazing vibes.

The location is awesome. Right in the middle of everything and super walkable. Stores, shops, food, and monkeys all right outside the door. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and insta worthy! We are considering adding a week to our stay. The vibe here is real.

Stay at your own risk in Sagittarius Inn

Only location was great due to vibrant shops and restaurants just within 500 metres. Nothing is acceptable other than the location.

1. The main entrance is narrow and unable to drive in the car inside the hotel. So prepared to bring all your luggages by hand carry to the rooms (<250 to 500 metres from the main road to the room inside, depending on the rooms they give. I was lucky to be given the second room). 2. Full of Geckos inside and outside the room making incessant noise especially during nights. 3. Monkeys come in, so be careful of them to lock always the room and to bring nothing in hand to avoid them snatching. 4. Aircon was not working, so had to have sleepless night. I initially booked for 3 nights, but exited the next day morning 9am due to horrible facilities and staff. Total hours of stay was <12 hours. 5. I reported the issue to the staff, but they say it is normal and can bring in the fan instead. No sense of responsibility and empathy. 6. The toilet lock was broken and was told that you all are one family, so no need to lock the toilet. Ridiculous, isn’t it? Who determines this call? 7. The mattress and pillows are worn out and totally unhygienic to use.

Great value for money

The location was great for what we needed, easy walking to everything. In the middle of everything but so lovely and quiet once you were in the grounds. The pool is lovely and gets a good amount of sun and shade. The grounds are kept beautiful. We did see some monkeys come through which was a novelty but the staff do their best to move them on and we understand why. The rooms were large and comfortable and fantastic value for money.

Our airconditioner had a problem so only ran for 30mins at a time which was terrible. We told staff the first day, they said they’d have someone look at it the next day, not great but ok. Someone came to try and fix it which it didn’t get any better. We asked again and staff said it would be sorted. At the end of the day they said it was getting fixed the next day but we wouldn’t be there. I don’t like to complain but I felt staff were just dismissive and I was disappointed as we paid for a room with aircon for a reason.

Local Feel, Great Price

The location was great. Lot's of restaurants and shops near by, as well as a place to rent a bike right in front. You could see monkeys running around in the daytime. It looked very local with gardens and statues.

There was a leak on the floor in my bathroom. With torrential down pours, we were constantly having to use the towels so our whole stay we had wet towels.

Don’t do this to yourself

It’s a really cheap accommodation and has a pretty garden.

Wverything is dirty and worn out, very worn out. Full of mosquitoes, we bought and installed our own net to protect from mosquitoes and dengue (which is common in Bali and we’ve had it before). The staff don’t particularly care to help with much, whoch is the least personable attitude we discovered in Bali. But I have to say we had booked an even worse room without aircon and after I asked to cancel altogether we got moved to a room with aircon. Also even though your booking will say pay by card at the property, they charge you 3% for card payment. Which wouldn’t be the case if you paid through booking. And overall it’s illegal in Indonesia to do that.

Monkey experience! Great value for money.

Awesome location right in the buzz of town. If you want the monkey experience definitely stay here you won’t even need to visit the monkey forest as they are not intimated by you. In saying that they will take food off you if you eat outside so be careful but an amazing experience to see them in the property. Great pool helpful staff awesome little place for the price!

Could be slightly more clean I looked at the pillows without the slips and I wish I hadn’t those could be updated as we’re gross!

Great stay for groups

Great location, staff was helpful (just a little hard to find at times), monkeys were running around our property wishing was great! We loved our stay. Would definitely recommend for people traveling in groups!

Worst room, bathroom and pool.

The Look of the Villa and garden with traditional temple and plants very nice

Very filty smell in the room paints are comming off evrywhere bathroom was dirty and broken door, fan was too old, lots of lisards inside the room. Over all we will never go in that hotel again. The pool was big but all the tiles where broken and me and my son got scratches so staying in pool was risky.

Spacious & light filled rooms.. The structure & architectural design of all the accommodation is traditional Balinese style cottages... The gardens & plants of Sagitarius Inn are lush, healthy & very carefully looked after by the lovely staff at Sagitarius Inn.. The location of Sagitarius Inn is very central to the main central tourist hub of Ubud's dining, shopping and is located within walking distance to the places of cultural significance such as the Saraswati temple & the Monkey Forest Sanctuary.. Another big plus is that the rooms are set back from the very busy with traffic & noisy Jalan Monkey Forest road so it's perfectly quiet for a peaceful & relaxing sleep.

Potential for the urbanised monkies from the Monkey Forest Sanctuary who have migrated out of the Monkey Forest Sanctuary park & have started to inhabit the trees & rooftops of the local area... If you're not into living & spending time in a natural setting with a few mosquitoes & a few cheeky monies looking for some food & the odd item of clothing to steal then this isn't the type of place for you to stay... Just my honest opinion to advise travellers seeking accommodation here who don't want to hear or see urbanised & wild monkies monking around the beautiful Sagitarius Inn gardens then you're best to seek out a wildlife free place to stay in downtown central Ubud.

The room we had has massive. Really comfortable bed. Really beautiful grounds and swimming pool. Great location, walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. Really friendly staff. Was able to rent a bike on the other side of the street. Ubud is beautiful and this is a beautiful place to stay.

Very disappointing

Location

Super dirty rooms, horrible & unresponsive staff, most of the things in the room are broken like water taps, door locks...etc. Water connection often broken so be ready to stay without water in the bathrooms for hours. The property looks very good from outside but the moment you enter your room, the reality will surface. Highly disappointed. When we asked the staff to fix the water, they straight asked to check out, disgusting hospitality, no courtesy but straight asking to leave if we are uncomfortable with all the broken things and no water for hours

Oasis , beauty and friendship

Sagitarius is a beautiful oasis , peaceful , tranquil and beautiful. Built in the old Bali style , with beautiful gardens and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s a place where you can meet new friends , or have a private time. Staying here is like coming home to the family. I have been coming here for 30 years and I have watched the staff grow older, the family go through all the changes that happen in every family. It truly is a special place off the business of Monkey Forest Road.

I love this place however I do think some of the rooms need a bit of maintenance and upgrading. Perhaps now all the tourist are beginning to come back , this can happen in the future. It’s been a very difficult time during Covid.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Feels like you stepped back in time to authentic old school Ubud. They've upgraded and maintained quality. Great location. If you don't mind the monkey's.

i don’t know if it’s Booking.com or the property management who messed up but we booked this place 6 months in advance, re/conformed and the 2 months in advance with acknowledgment from the staff yet when we arrived we were told our booking doesn’t even exist in their books. Booking.com confirmed our booking and tried to find alternative but they couldn’t and left us with no accommodation. Very Very disappointed to say the least.

The shower head was mounted very low at knee height which was a bit unusual. The Wi-Fi signal was very poor in our room.

I liked the spaciousness, cleanliness of the rooms & friendliness of the staff

I stayed in several different rooms, the first room I stayed in I didn't like as it was a bit smelly and too close to the entrance - so I felt I didnt have privacy. There was also a huge cockroach in the bathroom which made me scared to shower... But the two other rooms i stayed in I had a totally different experience! So i guess room 3 i wouldn't recommend ..

The location is in the heart of Ubud, easy to go everywhere. Nice big room. Have nice fridge inside the room. We got a room with a bathtub.

Air circulation in bathroom is trapped. Wastafel was clogged. I think someone who ever stay in the room pee somewhere, probably the bed, I don't know. The smell is still there. Beware of the monkey, sometimes they come to the room. No water provided at the room.
