Clean, warm, great bed and shower. Everything that you needed at a good price. It is a bit out of Zürich centre but the tram stop is right outside and takes you straight in to the centre. Great supermarket outside the hotel. Plenty of places to eat and a fantastic coffee roasters with shop (Vicafe Rösterei and Kaffeebar) worth a bit of a walk in the middle of some warehouses nearby! The public transport is amazing, puts the UK to shame.
Car park overnight was expensive and there were extensive roadworks which confused the car’s sat nav, but Google came to the rescue after several wrong turns.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Spirgarten. I love its central location in Zurich. It's a roughly 15 mins' ride to the Zurich HB train station by tram. My room was spacious and comfortable; and the bathroom was clean, too. There is COOP right next door where one can buy groceries and personal care items. The breakfast provided was good and plentiful.
Unfortunately, the room does not come with a mini fridge. The main door that leads to the rooms is very heavy to push through. I also found the internet connection to be TERRIBLE in my 2nd floor room. I was frustrated multiple times when I tried to access the Wi-Fi. I need the internet for my work so this was a major obstacle for me.

Location was good as we were going to a football match and it was just a couple of tram stops away. The tram service is excellent into the city centre. The area is nice with food shops and several small restaurants.
There was no aircon and this made the bedroom very uncomfortable. It was a hot day and the room was on the top floor with a velux window which would not stay open. A fan was provided but it was not sufficient. It’s not really good enough.
