Perfect. I plan to stay at Guest House Priyateli again next month when i travel with my children.

After 15 hours of solo travelling I arrived at the lovely, family run, Guest House Priyateli, to friendly faces, clean warm room, fresh white sheets. After a great night sleep I had a delicious breakfast and enjoyable chat with the owners. When I needed to stay an extra night there was no issue, I was given the same room. The guest house is clean and warm throughout and the family that run it are fabulous. Located on a quiet side road, less than a minute walk from the centre. The price is also great! 5 stars in my opinion. Fully reccomend

A great stay in the center

The owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is right in the heart if the city, near restaurants and shops. It is very clean and newly furbished. A bonus are the home baked cookies and sweets done by hosts. They are delicious. A place to return and enjoy.

Highly recommended.

The host, Mirena, was very personable and took every effort to make us feel comfortable throughout out stay. She went out of her way to book taxis for us to the bus station and even gave clear instructions to the taxi driver for us. We are grateful. Breakfast was another highlight - home made and totally sumptuous!

Cozy little place in the center, close to everything you want to visit. Clean place run by very friendly people. Good breakfast and even better sweets.

Clean, excellent service

Staff were exceptionally helpful. They let us check our luggage when we arrived early, and provided good directions for us to start investigating the town. They helped call cabs when we needed them (e.g., to get to Arbanassi).. Breakfast was plentiful. The owner even packed some breakfast snacks for us to take with us. The location is near the Mother of Bulgaria statue in Veliko Tarnovo, so attractions in the old town are within walking distance (craft street, fortress, museums).

Everything was fine. Just know that it's a uphill walk to this location, and a bit of a walk to the bus station.

Terrible and would not recommend this place to anyone

There are many, many steps up to the hotel from the main shopping street. If you are fit or a mountain climber it's good for you. Also good for giving your legs a workout. The elderly man who greeted us was pleasant.

Avoid this place!!! We were shown to our room by a nice lady. When we said that we had booked a room with a bath she said they were having renovations. We specifically asked for a room with a bath and booked it as such. She apologised and assured us that no money would be taken for their mistake and that she would help us find another hotel nearby, one with a bath. She then left the room as my partner was starting a search on this website. A couple of minutes later a really aggressive man burst into the room, shouting and saying the room has a shower and it is a bath. We said " No, we booked a room with a bath, not a shower." At this point he got even louder. We showed him the booking on booking.com and then he went crazy, grabbed our bags and coats and threw them out of the room screaming at us to leave. We left the place in shock. The hotel marked us as not arriving and we contacted booking.com about this terrible experience. As the hotel cancelled our stay we would not have been allowed to write this review but the help staff at booking.com were amazing and reopened the booking so I could write this review. We were told we could even apply for compensation from the hotel for this behaviour. I'm still thinking about this. An awful experience, avoid this place if it helps support and condones this kind of behaviour.

Very clean rooms , host super nice, and breakfast in the garden was amazing. Homemade food, and lots of cakes, can't ask for more.

The pillows were too full/ hard, so I didn't used them.

A pleasant stay

A family run hotel, very nice and helpful people, nice breakfast. We recommend the room for a family with children, as it has a large bed, a small one and a sofa. Very good location, in the center of the city, close to many restaurants and still quiet during the night.

They had a problem with the air conditioning in the breakfast area, while it was very hot outside.

I loved where the hotel was located. Going down for breakfast every morning and seeing a beautiful selection of foods that the owner made was fantastic and very yummy! The hotel was beautiful, very friendly people , and dogs 😍 Lovely room and very clean and tidy. We had a lovely stay and will definitely come back .

10 +++, Location and position, very close to the center, shops and restaurants, very quiet area , room VERY CLEAN and COMFORTABLE, TV in both rooms , mini fridge, electric kettle, terrace with a little table and 2 chairs to drink the coffee in the morning, VERY NICE and HELPFUL host, good and various breakfast, excellent handmade sweets made by the host, you feel like home great atmosphere. I definetly reccommend.

Warm Bulgarian hospitality

We had an enjoyable stay at this family run guest house/hotel, just one street behind the main street in Old Town Veliko Tarnovo. Parking is at a premium, so be sure to reserve a parking spot if you have a car. We booked a spacious family suite with views over the rooftops into the old town, a comfortable queen bed, lounge area and bathroom. Marina was super friendly and helpful and the breakfast she puts on is excellent!! This is Bulgarian hospitality at its best!! Note that if you are mobility impaired, Veliko Tarnovo is built on the sides of a canyon forged by the river. The property is a short climb above the main street and the suites are located 2 floors above ground/street level. The reception and breakfast room can be reached by 2 fights of stairs below the ground level!
