Zunfthaus

Friendly staff. Clean room and comfortable bed. Central location.

No lift , carried luggage to 3rd floor which we could do.. Jan did help. Some people might struggle.

Lovely old building in a great location with friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant was excellent and if you’re staying in-house I recommend booking dinner so you don’t miss out. Staff were helpful and welcoming and had great suggestions. Breakfast was simple but delicious and in another beautiful heritage part of the building. It was also well-insulated from sound and the cold.

Unfortunately our ensuite had a bad plumbing smell which filled the bathroom with an awful sewer smell - we notified staff and they were very responsive so hopefully no other guest will have that. And a couple of little things trade-offs to note… the age of the building gives it its charm (and it is beautiful), but it means there is no elevator and limited power sockets in the room. Worth noting and planning for. We had to unplug a lamp and unravel an extension cord to charge devices.

Thanks to the wonderful girl who served breakfast and made delicious coffee.

Wonderful place to stay.

Coming from NZ where we don't have anything the same age as in Chur, this hotel is a old and beautiful. The breakfast was lovely with a warm welcome each morning. The location was perfect for me - central in the old town but walking distance to the train/bus station.

Disappointment in Chur may cloud my comments.

We were a bit disappointed with Chur itself and this may be reflected in my feelings. It was rather like a hostel and going up three flights at our age was challenging (however they dis say there was no lift). Chur itself lacked OK eating facilities so Macdonalds it was. However it was an interesting place with an interesting history and on the bottom floor a smokers' room, one of only three in Chur. Given the cost of hotels I suppose it was value for money

A very short overnight stay so didn't get to enjoy Chur fully but hotel was nice and town lovely.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, proximity to train station and markets. Good value for money.

Unfortunately no lift in the property and my husband had to carry two 20kg bags up several flights of stairs as we were on 3rd floor.

The room was big enough, clean with nice view of the old town. Perfect location just less than 10 minutes walk from Train station. Quiet during night. Perfect location to explore this part of the country.

Everything was great! I would only suggest or prefer one extra pillow.

Exceptional service and facilities with prime location for exploration.

The staff and service were absolutely exceptional from the beginning. Warm and friendly. The building is beautiful and facilities are fantastic. Breakfast was amazing. Extremely personalised service.

It was walkable from the train station.

We were in bunk beds and I had booked a double and 2 singles. We also had to share a toilet and shower. There was no one on reception when we arrived.

An enjoyable stopover on my trip down to Italy

I was delayed getting there and I found out the kitchen closes at 9pm. However they did tell me I should get food en route when I emailed them about train delays.

Historic inn in Chur which was previously the wine guild

This is truly a historic inn (I think built in 1483) which was originally built for the wine guild, located in the heart of Chur. So our room was very old, with two separate twin beds but very clean. Breakfast was good with assorted bread, cheese and meats. Definitely a good value and interesting place.

Due to the age of this inn, the shared toilet was at the end of the hall and the shared shower was also at another part of the hall. Both shower and toilet were impeccably clean. Since this inn is small, it did not prove to be a problem for us, but may be an issue for travelers who prefer to have a private bathroom.

Room wasn’t great. Small, uncomfortable, and very noisy floor fan. Very small bathroom, but it’s an old place, so that can be expected. Breakfast ended earlier than advertised. No lift/elevator and steep stairs, we had luggage and that wasn’t fun.

Very characterful hotel. Lovely rooftop room. Nice breakfast.

We were told at check in there was an event on but they would squeeze us in for dinner. Then another member of staff said a table wasn’t available. Not a great problem as there are so many lovely restaurants nearby but could have been an issue for some.

A wonderful, historical, truly Swiss hotel

This absolutely delightful hotel in Chur's pedestrianised Old Town is 'Swiss chocolate box' pretty. It is a historical building with many original features especially in the dining rooms. The staff could not be more genuine and helpful, the food is of the highest standard and the Swiss ambience is perfect.

I was not bothered by these things but it is useful to know. As the hotel is in a historical building there is a beautiful curving stone staircase but no lift. The reception is on the first floor and the rooms are on the second. How fit are you?! My bedroom was spotlessly clean with a comfy bed but very simple. No frills just the necessities.

Fabulous property in the old town. Rooms were perfectly functional and clean, if a little small. Restaurant food and choice of wines was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s an old property so don’t expect air conditioning or lifts….. the hotel makes this clear!

Great location in old town. Easy walk from railway station. Booked it last minute and was pleasantly surprised. Staff very friendly and spoke superb English, great for us lazy brits.! Comfy bed nice powerful shower.

Only small critique would be lack of a full length mirror and a few hooks for towels / coats.

Whenever in Chur, that's my place to stay.

the room was cozy and very clean. The location is also great. What I want to point out is the quality of the food at the Restaurant. I enjoyed a delicious dinner with appetizer, main and desert. 100% recommedable.

Lovely historic hotel in central location with excellent restaurant

Beautiful building in a great location. The restaurant was excellent and food delicious! It was a very ambient setting and the waiter was very friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

The whole hotel had a smokey smell that rose up from the bar. We had to leave our room windows open to air it out. Could have had more fruit selection at breakfast

Very clean, great location as close by to the train station. Shops and food spots within walking distance which is great including a McDonald’s. Very comfortable beds with clean smelling bedding, extremely warm, comfortable & accommodating. Surrounded by beautiful Mountains. Staff are very pleasant, property very clean.
