Cambridge Quy Mill Hotel & Spa

Lovely room and ensuite. The spa was lovely, restaurant was great. Loved breakfast! Short drive to Cambridge or jump on the park and ride. Great location if visiting Duxford too. The staff were professional and friendly, they were attentive and made sure to make us feel welcome. Lovely place.

Paying to park in the hotels own private car park seemed expensive( from memory it was £20 per day). It should be a price for the room including parking in my opinion. The walls are a little thin but we weren't disturbed enough to complain or ask to be moved.

The staff were lovely especially the young woman on reception couldn’t be more helpful! It’s quiet and all on one level.

The spa seems understaffed and a bit chaotic but it is quiet. We waited ten minutes at reception for staff but nobody came so we went in. They told me I was half an hour late for my treatment which threw me into a panic and later when I checked they had got the time wrong not me - when I pointed this out the woman said well you got your treatment didn’t you?

Food was very good. Staff were very helpful.

1) Phone not working in the room with no immediate explanation. Reception then told me it had been out of order for some time as the system was being replaced. Why then no info in the room? Or info given to me at check-in? Because of the lack of phone I had to go to Reception 3 separate times to ask: a) where the bathroom towel heater switch was; b) why my desk lamp didn’t work and why my bed had not been made up on 2/10 by housekeeping; c) request for more milk. 2) Bed not made by housekeeping on Friday 2/10. 3) Noise from A14 very obtrusive. 4) Grounds near the little stream are very unkempt and unpleasant.
