Good location will be back

Very nice location. Family Lunch on Sunday was very good with plenty of choice and everyone’s food cooked perfectly.

Older building so lacked modern facilities but had old world charm.

Good for a basic hotel

The price suits my pocket, the location is perfect for me. The staff are very nice and the cleaners do a great job. The sheets and towels were immaculately clean. Food good.

It's a tired hotel and rather dated. The carpets are thin and marked. There was a hole in the toilet door. The bedside lamp didn't work and the TV was rubbish. Only got channels 1 thru 5. The single room I was in was tiny. I kept bumping in to things.

Large bedroom overlooking the river. Decent offers in restaurant and bar. Secure car park. Close to centre and shops etc.. Unashamedly dated bar, restaurant and conservatory - really added to the stay!

Cost of car parking at £18 per day. Light fittings and skirtings need dusting and cleaning. No soap dispenser by sink, just by bath.

Great location but you could be disappointed

It is in a great location to walk in to the center and along the river.

Bedroom furniture & carpet wasn't clean. The handwash, shampoo and shower gel we're all the same product. The carpark fee is a bit ridiculous why it's not included in the price is daft.

Definitely recommended, perfect location

Close to the city centre, very clean and tidy and beds were comfortable. We had some lunch there and good value for mine and very tasty. Enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend. On the doorstep of all the sites to see.

Could have been a better offering for breakfast. Also some parts need a bit of modernisation, but then again it’s good value for money, so catch twenty two.

Only staying for one night, and unable to try all the facilities. Close enough to walk to the city centre. Comfortable enough to oversleep and miss breakfast 😋

A comfortable and welcoming place to stay, good value, Must be amazing in the summer.

The reception staff are always friendly, and helpful, and seem genuinely positive and attentive. No "pan-am " smiles. The rooms are impressive, yet comfortable, and we have been lucky to have gorgeous views over the River to City Centre. Breakfast is relaxed, and generous. Location for interesting pubs and restaurants is perfect, or The castle, or short walk to City Centre is great

Friendly staff, outdated decor and very noisy building.

The location was good. Just a short walk to the city centre and on a river.

The decor of the hotel was incredibly dated and feel like a change of soft furnishings would give the property a much needed uplift. The hotel is also incredibly loud. We got very little sleep due to people above us and being able to hear every foots on the stairs and in the corridor.

Charming boutique hotel close to tourist attractions.

Lovely boutique hotel, small but well appointed room with charming decor. Comfortable bed. Across the road from the green and within easy walking distance of the old part of the city. The breakfast room was a pretty conservatory and the breakfast options were tasty and varied. Friendly staff.

Paying an additional 18 pounds for parking when I arrived because I had not booked direct. Bathroom was very small and distance between the toilet and the wall made using it a bit of a calisthenics exercise.

A wonderfully comfortable hotel to relax and enjoy the city with more elan than the price suggests.

Fantastic location, and very helpful friendly staff, welcoming, professional and friendly. Room was elegant and cosy. We both enjoyed being able to have a good and tasty meal at the hotel. I would recommend the AHH to anyone, and will definitley be returning,

The only thing I would say is I wasn't sure if there was a vegan milk option for the rooms, but that's my fault for not asking. Apart from that, it was a wonderful stay

The Car Parking Costs £17 it is very expensive (10% of the Room Rate ) The Cooked Breakfast Costs £12 when the buffet breakfast is included in the Daily Rate at £5 extra it would be reasonable

Cambridge is expensive, this was a cheaper hotel and we got what we paid for, clean, friendly, warm, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and just off centre. All in all was good value for money.

Hotel looks tired, tatty paintwork throughout. Booking included breakfast but that’s only for the continental, cooked breakfast is an extra £12.50 & £18 a night parking charge if booked through booking.com which is not made clear on the information. Breakfast buffet chaotic, very short staffed.

Great location just opposite the river and Jesus green. 5 minute walk to town. Receptionist pointed out special offers for bar and restaurant which we were able to take advantage of. We were upgraded to a large double. Spacious lounge/bar area.

Bathroom had a bathtub with overhead shower. Not ideal for less mobile/elderly visitors. Would prefer a walk in shower. Paintwork needs doing.

Hotel is extremely tired and dated . Room smelt damp. Breakfast very poor. Staff hopeless . Long check in queues both on arrival and departure no concept of service . Anywhere else it would have closed down but the location is good and there is a shortage of accommodation in Cambridge .

Staff tried hard but let down by too few staff and inadequate planning for a full hotel.

Breakfast was under staffed. No clear signs as how to check in for breakfast. Staff were constantly trying to restock the food and drink for breakfast

No explanation of how parking process works. Prepaid ticket for parking did not work, had to queue for a long time at reception to resolve.

An honest opinion

The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen spotless. The few staff I saw were polite.

The hotel is rather worn and faded. The carpet in my room was stained. The TV worked intermittently. The shower was in danger of over flowing as it drained v v slowly.Wallpaper was peeling in places and door to bathroom had a big dent in it. Like I said it all just seemed rather tired. There was very little interaction between me and the staff. I was only there 2 nights.

Location

We had a problem with the shower, couldn’t get it to work which was inconvenient. When reporting on leaving it was indicated that it was our error and we were not turning the controls correctly. The shower control was old, the only water that came out was a small sprinkle of cold water.
