We know this hotel well as we have been visiting over a few years now. It was busy and the staff were working their socks off but were unfailingly polite and helpful And at breakfast I asked for eggs Benedict which weren’t in the menu but this was not an issue at all.

Decor was traditional/modern/tasteful, quality food, good breakfast, particularly the scrambled eggs, beautiful spacious room, comfy bed. Staff all helpful and friendly. Grounds well kept. Nice open fire in the hall.

Beautifully furnished. Bursting with character. Exceptional staff. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Fantastic views. Fabulous.
Rather too many dead things in the walls for my taste (!) but that goes with the history/style of the place. Shower water pressure not great but again, it’s to be expected in a property like this. Local toiletries would be nice.
