Location.
Nice effort to make sure rom was warm.
Self check-in is really impersonal. Room the tiniest room I have ever been in, especially for a twin room. Kettle didn’t seem to work. Shower cubicle tiny too
5.0 / 10.0
Truthfully, trying hard but the room sizes/facilities/quality - constant creaking floors - tiny bathroom/shower meant that we wouldn't go back. Staff excellent.
See above.

well located central Anstruther
booked a deluxe junior suite and sorry but nothing deluxe about room. Blinds on windows, slats broken. Damp on ceiling, looks like ready to cave in. turned bed down hairs and marks on sheets. literally slept dressed on top of bed to get our heads down. so cold in room one plug in radiator. toilet clean but toilet seat hanging off and so cold.

Location good.
Room absolutely freezing cold. Heating did not work. The electric heater wasn't big enough for the room. Couldn't make a cup of tea because the kettle was dirty both inside and out. Have come home with a sore back because of bed. Had to pay for bottle of water in room. Stairs were very narrow and should be signposted as such.

Clean comfortable bed , additional heater provided as room was cold , but once heater on room comfortably warm .
Delux room booked for 3adults , fortunately our child didn’t come as there definitely wouldn’t have been room for him . Variety of furniture squashed into room , decor tired especially bathroom .
Breakfast included , dinning area tired , dirty , food available , apples , pots of porridge , pre - packed biscuits . No staff anywhere other than very pleasant bar staff to assist on arrival but maybe result of time of year Xmas holidays . Breakfast definitely self service and worst I’ve ever experienced .

Incredible location, especially if your kids like mine are avid sea glass and sea pottery collectors! The room (coastal suite) was perfect for us (mum and 2 kids) we had a double bed and a sofa bed which was a single but slightly wider I would say and was made up for us on arrival. Hot shower for after exploring and Netflix access for movie nights :) teas and coffees in room and a very reasonably priced mini bar which doubled as a fridge if you needed. Air con and extra heater were provided in the room but not needed at all the room was a lovely temperature throughout our stay. I had been nervous after reading some reviews (after I had booked) but I'm glad we gave it the chance :) Perfect for us as a lovely warm place to sleep after days of exploring. 1 night we ate out in one of the many food places nearby and the 2nd night we got takeaway from the wee chippy and brought it to the room. Breakfast you just help yourself too cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt, pain au chocolat or a cereal bar. Nothing fancy but great to fuel up the kids before we went out.
There was nothing particularly didn't like but I'm used to the air bnb style hotels now. There isnt any storage for clothes etc which was fine for us as only 2 nights. I can see it might be off -putting for those who mistakenly expect like a hotel with reception and staff etc. However if you do your research and understand it's fully self catering and that there is no restaurant (as stated on their website) through the winter you will enjoy it.

The staff were helpful and very friendly
The room is quite small

Very friendly staff, comfortable room
Only guest, building cold. Was very disappointed by the breakfast - ad needs to be clearer about what is provided. For the price, expected a cooked breakfast. Did not represent good value when compared to neighbouring offerings

Room clean and warm, bed comfy, bar ok
No cooked breakfast, tables not made up, restaurant a dumping ground

no comment
We were disturbed through the early hours of the morning from a fight that resulted in two windows of the pub being smashed . There were running battles outside the pub and screaming and shouting . This was quite scary.
I feel that we should get compensation for the disruption and stress

The bed was really comfortable and the Inn just around the corner from the harbour and high street
The code lock on the bedroom door, we kept thinking we had lost a key. The bathroom was very cramped

Convenient location close to the beachfront. Freshly renovated.
Squeaky floorboards. Shower door not closing properly. Bedding for the sofa bed hard to find - a note saying where it was would have been helpful. Dogs barking until 1am (there were two small dogs in the staff quarters next to our room)
1.0 / 10.0
The location
Very small advertised as large bed with a sofa bed, the bed was a double and room too small to accommodate sofa bed. Shower was tiny and water pressure poor and not easy to regulate. The floor boards creaked and could walk in silence. The refrigerator made a terrible noise all night on hindsite I ought to have unplugged it. No water or milk provided.

Bathroom in room so small was struggle to do anything in it and shower head would not stay up really spoilt our stay

A characterful property.Central to Anstruther.
Noise insulation between rooms could be better.
5.0 / 10.0
Location
1. Noise from the bar till nearly 01:00!
2. No outlook. I did not expect a view - but nor did I expect to look out the window directly down into a lounge and a pool table.
3. Toilet seat unhinged and shower head cracked
4. Very small room for two people
5. Did not meet any staff as room entry by combination look. Felt impersonal.

Handy for the centre
Clean
Cheap mattresses not suitable for adults maybe okay for a child up to the age of 12/13?
If you are going to charge the prices that you charge then maybe invest in decent mattresses and offer breakfast.
Also why would the hooks for hanging your clothes etc be obscured by a unit that has a kettle on it?

The location is great. Anstruther is lovely, couldn’t recommend the location any better.
The room wasn’t very comfortable, it didn’t feel very clean, the floors are uneven and the noise of music went well in to the night. The food wasn’t good I’m afraid, and the kitchen closed early with staff drinking at tables. It had a strange vibe about it.

The heating did not work. No chairs In the room . Shower door very small a large person would struggle to get in.
Staff were not helpful and they did not do food.

A bit run down but comfortable place to stay for 1 night. Rooms small, hot and old fashioned but bed was comfortable and shower worked well. Great location for restaurants etc though can be noisy at night. Staff friendly and helpful. Allow dogs for a charge. Reasonable price.
Room was hot and couldn’t leave windows open as Road noisy - on bus route as well as general people & car traffic. We were there on a Tuesday night.

Very good location, close to the beach, places to eat and drink
A little close to the road, as it was warm with the window open was a bit noisy but this can’t be helped
2.0 / 10.0
Small room, too much furniture, stuffy, dark entrance to room, no key box, cushions everywhere had to squeeze them behind chair etc, to create some room.
8.0 / 10.0
Great Location. Spotless Rooms
Room a little on the small side for a longer stay but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Would book again.
9.0 / 10.0
Very comfy bed with plenty of pillows, had a great sleep! Complimentary tea, coffee & shower gel. Lovely soft, fluffy towels.
7.0 / 10.0
Location was great, instructions to enter the building were accurate. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable
No double glazing therefore the noise from the street was disruptive. The television wasn’t tuned in and despite our best efforts it wouldn’t tune. WiFi was non existent which in this day and age is unacceptable
9.0 / 10.0
Terrific location. Easy access. Comfortable bed. Nice, clean bathroom!
The WiFi machine makes some noise overnight, but it's a minor issue.
7.0 / 10.0
Very good location
No parking near by. Room very small for three! Sofa bed very uncomfy. Shower didn’t regulate was either too hot or cold.
8.0 / 10.0
Lovely location near Anstruther harbour in a charming and busy little old fishing town, where fish is still brought in daily by local small fishing boats. The room itself was pleasant, very comfortable, well lit and attractive.
Dog enjoyed being within a short walk of the beach(es). We also enjoyed being a short walk from excellent fish and chip shops, especially the Anstruther Fish Bar, whose fish, steamed to perfection inside a tasty batter, is perfectly teamed with potato chips, hot and soft on the inside, with a crispy outside. Perfectly cooked fish and chips, an old British tradition, depends on the cooking fat being very hot and the fish being very fresh. Always a queue, but worth the wait.
The small Harbour Inn room was comfortable and the ensuite shower room/toilet was clean and pleasant.
The twin beds were rather narrow, but comfortable (except when I turned over in the night and fell out of bed - my fault, not the bed's).
