Terrible experience with the lack of management and rude communication

5min to the airport by taxi

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. We don’t recommend staying here if you expect 3 star experience. We booked via booking.com, but they contacted me via WhatsApp asking for email address without a reason. It should be mentioned on the booking and why don’t you contact via booking.com? Then they sent me the PayPal link to pay city tax. I asked them if I can pay at check-in because I don’t have a PayPal account, they said yes. On the day they contacted me again for check-in time. I said 21:30, which is 30min before their reception closing time. However they kept pressuring us to complete check-in and city tax payment before arrival, while several times we mentioned we will be on time. We were very uncomfortable but managed to do so while driving and arrived before 21:30 as we promised. No apology but only argument from the rude female receptionist for this unnecessary and uncomfortable pressure. We booked and prepaid for the airport shuttle at 5am. The bus didn’t come and we waited for 15min, finally called the hotel owner who managed to get the bus for us. Furthermore, one week later they sent us the check in link for another Asian guest name. We informed them and they said ‘human error can SOMETIMES happen.’ I mean how many errors did you cause us and we can’t trust how they handle customer data. The room was tiny and we could hear all the noise from the next door. We would never stay here again.

Good room, great location

Hotel and room was clean, comfortable and perfect for us as we wanted a place to stay close to the airport as our flight out the next morning was at 6:30 a.m. There was also a shuttle bus to the airport for an extra fee, but worth it.

There were quite a few couples trying to get on the shuttle bus, and not enough room for all. Turned out that a couple had a later reservation but tried to leave on our earlier one. We finally had to ask them to get off so that our reservation time could leave. I think if the driver had a roster and used it earlier, our departure wouldn't have taken so long.

The hotel was great. I chose the hotel after reading reviews about the proximity to the airport and airport shuttle service for early flights. The little restaurant/bar in the lobby was an added bonus.

The only thing I did not like was the rooms bathroom smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, enough so, we had to open windows.

The hotel staff was SO SO quick to respond to any questions that I had on What's APP. Transportation on strike, so we had quite a few questions, such as how to take a tram when taxi's can't get to airport etc...

Easy stay for close by airport drop off

Check in was easy and I got my next day 4am shuttle reserved. Room had a double and single bed AND a balcony! Bar/restaurant was open late which is good since there isn't anything close by.

Will stay again if I ever get back to Florence.

I stayed at Hotel Franchi both when I first arrived in Florence, and again the night before I flew out. Both times the staff were friendly and helpful, but on the 2nd stay, I was under the weather and they went above and beyond. I was able to check into my room early, order food brought to me, and even had help getting my bags up to the room. The food is amazing (the chicken Cacciatori was great), as are the cocktails and wine/prosecco. It's an easy walk to dinner if you prefer to eat out.

Basic and expensive for the level of comfort

Very convenient for the airport and I appreciated the shuttle in the morning. It was basic but clean and perfect for a pre flight sleep.

I found the key pad for the front door difficult to manage. The need to have a key pad operated front door made me feel that it was an unsafe area. The walls are paper thin so conversations are very clear and loud when I was trying to sleep. Doors bang until very late and I found it difficult to get to sleep. There’s a small kettle but the socket is too far away for the flex to reach. The only way I could boil some water was to get on my hands and knees under the table with the kettle, and hold the plug in the socket as it kept popping out if I let it go.

Met expectations, about all.

The hotel is quite close to the airport, only 10 minutes at most. It was a little hidden to find but but our taxi driver was familiar with it. The room was a bit small but clean and everything worked well. It was fine for a temporary stay to fly in/out of the airport.

The hotel only offers a free shuttle to the airport, no pickup service. That was not clear on the reservation website. The staff was pretty indifferent and check-in was self service, though the attitude seems more of an Italian thing than just with this hotel.

The hotel is very close to the airport, and they offer a shuttle service every 15 minutes all day long. The room was very clean and spacious. There is an outside area close to the lobby, which is very nice. The staff is really friendly.

Great stop over hotel for a night or 2. Great staff

The hotel is small which allows the staff to be right there for you. It was clean, surprisingly comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. I was only there to meet family the next day at the airport. Great proximity to the T2 line took me to the airport quickly. I was alone and didn’t want to move off the property for a meal. They have a few GREAT homemade meals offered right there. The patio and outside area is so shady, comfortable and the host even brought me an extension cord so I could charge my phone since I was early for my checkin. The bar has a great selection of wines and liquors which I enjoyed. Great place to stay, not in an area that you can tour around but served me very well. I recommend.

Well a decent bed for the night.

Nice comfortable bed. Good bed linen & soft white towels Good coffee The offer to try to get the shuttle to the airport even though we had been told earlier that shuttle service only available in the morning !

Self service check in system. If I’m paying 180 euro for a hotel why shouldn’t I have hotel service instead of Airbnb self service system. Location isolated. The food - to be served a heated up ‘ dried out spoonful of lasagne & chicken cacciatore , expensive to boot, was an insult to both the customer and Italian cooking ! Breakfast - I ordered Greek yogurt with muesli & fruit. What was offered was cornflakes with bits in, plain or chocolate. I ordered plain which consisted of two spoons of yogurt with a few cornflakes. The alternative was a dried out orange or a bruised apple. When I complained about the food to the ‘chef’ he said they were a Bistro & not a restaurant 😳

Alright but don't expect friendliness

Dear Hotel Management, you put so much attention and money in decorating the main hall, why not putting some time and resources in training your staff too? After all, one friendly word and a smile cost nothing... It's worth the effort and - who knows - it might even make your guests welcome. Stranger things have happened.

50/50 Expeience

The very best part of this experience is I got in late, close to 9 PM and I was so hungry and they heated me up the most delicious lasagna I’ve ever had in my entire life!

Communication was not great and they made an error in giving me the door code number adding an extra digit. I was panicked. I was gonna be left outside at night as they weren’t answering the phone. So I started knocking on the window and somebody ultimately came and was really mad at me that I was banging on the glass.
