Location
Poor soundproofing meant we could hear everything from the hall and we couldn’t sleep.

Location of the hotel was perfect. Close to metro, walking distance from shopping street and old town. Bathroom and room were also quite pleasant.
20 euros per night for parking was a bit too much. Especially given how small the parking was. Breakfast was also expensive (around 18 euros per person)

The location was great! Check in and check out super easy. Room clean. Great little teapot in the room. They had a huge room that locked so we could store our bags for day of departure. Huge plus.
We would have liked the option for decaf coffee at the bar but really not a big deal.

We stayed for one night during a road trip. Hotel in a great location in Lyon - garage located at the rear of the hotel (it's a steep entry/exit so be careful with low cars). The hotel was fairly small and basic but was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was good but not a huge amount of choice that you may have in a larger hotel.

Breakfast was grand. Staff were excellent and very helpful.
Good location with plenty of local restaurants available.
Nothing negative really it’s an old building with limited lift space 😆

I got bed bug bites. Not fun to have to clean everything you bring with you, nothing is worth that anxiety.

Fair 4 star hotel clean, comfortable and good location. Very good breakfast with good coffee and good selection of products. I loved the water fountain with sparkling and still water in the hall.
They present they have parking, but might be full like it was the case for us, so we parked on the street, although this was one of our main reasons to choose this hotel.
The stuff doesn’t have an assertive attitude, they are cold and with standard answers.
As well they present the rooms sound proof but it’s not that isolated, we still need to rely on common sense of other guests.

Great hotel in the centre of Lyon, with a bar in the foyer. 5 minutes walk to a couple of Metro stations. Great breakfast, better than expected. Parking available (for an extra fee) at an underground car park round the corner. At time of writing, Crit'Air 3 sticker required to drive into central Lyon's low-emission zone.

check in was a breeze, parking was great but get there early as first in best dressed, room was well appointed, breakfast was excellent with plenty of options, good location with 10 minute walk to Rhone and the city and few more minutes to the Soane and the old town
no complaints

Location is good. Breakfast is quite nice. The front desk staff is very helpful.
This hotel's air-con system needs an urgent modernization. It's the old style machine that is installed under the desk. Probably older than me. The day we stayed was 37 degrees celsius, but the air-con was not working. It was generating wind, but not cool at all. We booked two nights' stay but fled after one, since nobody could sleep well.

The design is wxcellent, very quiet and cosy hotel. The breakfast was godd taking into account that in france the idea of what is a breakfast is fundamentally different from other European countries

We liked the overall atmosphere, and the good-size room. Breakfast was of good quality and copious.. Even if it is not in the centre of Lyon, the metro is a few minutes walk from the hotel, and then 2 stops away.
We found the mattresses "tired", but this may only been our room.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The room was ample size, and the bed was comfortable. The location was reasonably close to our destination and to dining options
I wished they would have had a restaurant on premises to simplify things after a long flight.

The Roosevelt was a very nice hotel in a very city centred location. The car park was underground and secure, but costs €17. However, it's a city centre location, so you're going to pay for this no matter where you are. The room was perfect. Everything provided, and spacious. The reception staff were very helpful, and friendly, and made the stay even better. If I owned this hotel, I'd love to have these people in charge of my hotel.
The car park was a little small, but was almost empty when we were there. We initially found the car park hard to find, as it's at the back of the hotel on another street, but the hotel could detail out the exact location easily as a small improvement on their website. Other than that, there's nothing wrong with this hotel.

convenient location
awful night on a very hot night in Lyon - none of the air conditioning was working - no one told us upon arrival and when I reported this in the morning there was no apology - just that it wasn’t working.

First thing to say is that the staff were all excellent and were definitely the best element of this hotel. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly, chatty and helpful.
Breakfast was generally very good, with the exception of the hot food choices.
The hotel is well located, just a short walk from all the main attractions.
Room were very clean.
The air conditioning, even when set to high and full power, was nowhere near cool, let alone cold. Given we had specifically booked a hotel with air conditioning, this was disappointing and why I would rate the facilities/comfort of the room as poor and would not return to this hotel, which is a shame given how great the staff were!
Hot breakfast choices consisted of only scrambled egg and sausages, every day (a very small amount of bacon was offered on one day).
The standard double rooms we had, whilst generally well equipped, were very compact, although I don't know if this is the norm for Lyon, or just the hotel. The bathroom was especially compact, particularly when trying to get into the shower.

No wine in the small bar. In France!!!

One of the nicest city hotels we've ever stayed at. Very stylish, and our room (on the 5th floor) had obviously been recently and very cleverly refurbished. It felt much bigger than it was thanks to the design of the built in unit of wardrobe, fridge (completely silent), and safe (that worked), while across the full length of the window a sort of worktop could be sat at while also providing space for luggage underneath. Wi-fi was lightning fast.
There was a wide variety of very fresh food for breakfast.
The car park under the hotel was very safe and secure, and accessible by elevator.
Location was ideal - surrounded by lots of restaurants and interesting shops, and within walking distance of the centre of the city in one direction, and the Parc de Tete d'Or in the other, and major shopping centres. On the 5th floor we heard very little street noise.
The staff were charming & helpful.

nicely refurbished rooms, nice restaurants within walking distance, breakfast ok.
(1) beds: During booking process, I was given the choice of „one double bed“ or „two single beds“ in a „classic room“. We chose two single beds, but got a small double bed (app. 1.5 m wide), with one mattress and one duvet. You can imagine what happens if one of two is restless asleep.
(2) bathroom: really, really, really tiny: app. 3 sqm in total (incl. WC, sink and walk-in shower). The WC was set directly next to the wall…
(3) parking: We chose the hotel for a stop over and asked for a reservation of a parking spot in the hotels private parking, which they refused to do (first come - first serve strategy). Remember: the hotel is in the city, not in an industrial area. When arrived, I was told that there was only one spot left but that my car was to big for the parking spot (I have a regular German station wagon, no SUV etc). Not sure, how many private parking spots they have at all. However getting rid of the car at the public underground parking took an extra half an hour in total. Quite annoying after a day of driving.
Summary:
If you can accept the above mentioned disadvantages, it might be a good choice for a longer stay if you like a nicely refurbished hotel, want to explore the city and nearby restaurants.
But definitely not for a stop-over/one night. Given the price, it is way overrated. Compare e.g. Novotel Confluence for better service, better breakfast, more spacious rooms/beds and lots of parking spaces directly under the hotel.
