disappointing overall-overpriced compared to other hotels I stayed in and were much nicer.
breakfast was poor. not much of a selection of anything.
decor stairs had worn looking carpet and walls were so dark chocolate brown!

Perfect base for a few days in Lyon
Really lovely, compact hotel, definitely worth more than 2 stars. Great location to explore the city, very close to the park, metro close by too. Breakfast is simple but very nice options. Staff were all very friendly & helpful too.
Would be nice to have some water & glasses in the room, and a hairdryer would be handy.

A good and quiet stay for me without incident.
The staff is very kind and friendly, the room clean and quiet with good curtains to keep morning light away. Bathroom spacious enough relative to the room, and clean. I was surprised to see a bathtub. The bed was quite comfortable (for me at least, not sure about people with back problems). Keep in mind that you will be asked to leave your room key in the reception each time you go out. For me this was a peace of mind, but others may not like it. The hotel is well situated in the city, with the railway station and a big variety of restaurants in walking distance.
The room doors are rather old and they do not offer satisfactory sound isolation. You can hear more than clearly in the morning the nearby doors opening and closing. However, I could not hear noise through the walls, so this part at least seems well isolated.

Nice hotel, stay away from the breakfast
Overall, everything was nice. The staff is very friendly, the room was decently sized. The bathroom was clean. I really don't have anything "extraordinarily" to complain about.
What could be improved? Having a minifridge would add a lot of value. The breakfast was kind of a rip-off. Your options are youghurt, oats, and 1 other type of cereal, salami, ham, pastry and slices of baguette, butter and jam. But usually, just a couple of the options per day.

Not coming back
Situation in the city was ok.
The bed was firm/hard. The window could not open (craftsman had been contacted said the receptionist). There was no extraction/ventilation from the bathroom. We took a bath and went out for dinner. When we came back 3-4 hours later the bathroom was still warm and damp. As we could not open the window in the room there was very poor indoor climate and the room felt very enclosed. It did not help to open the door to the corridor. There was very loud, so at night we were disturbed by some neighbor guests. The walls of the stairs/corridors was painted dark brown! It seemed a bit creepy and not welcoming. Breakfast was very basic, no eggs. We found the standard too low - even for a 2 star hotel - so we left after 2 nights.

Good option at a reasonable price
Moderate price, 2 star but with decent rooms and aircon (summers are hot in Lyon), nice location, outside the over-touristy areas, interesting restaurants nearby, decent hotel breakfast

Friendly staff and cozy place to stay.
The location was tranquil and beautiful, not far from the city center and with a lot of restaurants in the area. The room is small but it fulfilled our expectations, the bathroom even had a tube.
Everything was fine.

I'll be back
Friendly staff, clean room, bathroom renovated, comfortable shower. Air conditioning working well, good wifi. Chance to park the car nearby underground (15 euro per night). They let us keep the car till 5pm with no overprice (thanks!). Reception open 24/24. Small lift available. I would return to this hotel.
Tiny washbasin with a shelf just above It, quite uncomfortable.. Hard to open the windows because they collide with the metal bars that sustain the curtains. But these are not big issues.
