I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with anything I needed. The location was absolutely lovely — close to everything, with beautiful surroundings that made it easy to relax and enjoy my time there. Overall, it was a warm and pleasant experience that made me feel right at home.

There were a few things that could be better. I could hear music from my room at night, which made it a bit difficult to sleep. The breakfast was nice, but the toast was cold, which was a little disappointing. I also would have liked to use the leisure facilities without having to book a treatment.

I won’t be staying here again. Absolute disappointment

Room 280 was smaller than my closet. Shower had absolutely no pressure and my car window washer spray more water then the shower. Shower area was just big enough for one person to stand. No bath - I was staying in hotel for comfort not hostel.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is dated with worn carpets and looks neglected. The leisure centre was very disappointing - changing rooms and toilets were filthy, the pool had a dirty tide mark all around the edges.

Nice, but not 4*

The staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a wonderful location. The hotel was clean and well maintained.

There was no water in the room, no fridge either. I asked at reception for water and I was directed to the nearest shop as the bar was closed. The room we were in was next to the lift, and there was a lot of noise from the mechanics of it which made it difficult to sleep and unlike road noise or people shouting at all hours this is something that the hotel can actually do something about. I asked for an iron and waited for an hour before I had to leave without ironing my clothes and the following day requested one again, it was promptly delivered this time. The Leisure Centre was subpar. The changing rooms smell like they're trying to cover up damp, there is no hot water in any of the showers in the changing room, no keys for the lockers, the pool is quite small and cold, the jacuzzi is dirty. The process of using the leisure centre is extremely over the top, you have to get wristbands from reception and get quizzed to get them, then you get the same quiz at the door to get into the leisure centre, I've never seen this in any other 4* hotels we've stayed in, and considering the leisure centre is 2* at best it really wasn't worth the effort. We tried to book a table for dinner and were told they didn't take bookings and we would be accommodated if we arrived at dinner time, which we did, when we arrived we were told there would be at least a 2 hour wait for a table. It's a nice clean hotel in a great location but we expected a little more considering the 4* rating. It is most definitely not a 4* hotel and should reduce the room rate accordingly.

First time staying here, probably last. Usual stay in Great Northern, fancied a change, poor decision on my behalf.

Location

No WiFi in the room, no tv channels, after 4 hrs moved to a smaller room. Staff at breakfast were slow, left queuing to be allocated in seating area.

Everything was superb - food quality in both the restaurant and for breakfast was excellent. The room had terrific views of seafront. Bed was very comfortable and room and bathroom spotless. The main positive was the staff, super friendly and helpful

Wonderful parking area. Staff very friendly.

Room overlooking the main road and party's of young people making much noise until 3am. The shower was worse than useless with almost no water flow. As a so called 4 star hotel not to have tissues in the room is very poor. The only thing with which to stir tea or coffee was a thin wooden stirrer no tea spoons provided. In my view not a 4 star hotel.

Close to sea

Really disappointed!! We asked for a later checkout and we're told we could at 12 a clock. At 11:30 they came to the door told us we had to leave as a result of being rushed we left our passports behind. We were in the village for a further 4 hours and we weren't notified that they were found. When we rang later on in the evening after doing a four hour drive home they said they had them. They tried to make an excuse that we weren't meant to check out late but told by receptionist the night before we were. We had to drive straight back as we were flying that following morning. Also our shower was broke, the noise was extremely loud at night time and overall were very disappointed. I've never had an experience like this in a hotel. Most expensive hotel I've stayed in and the worst yet!!

Location was great. Room was well laid out and tastefully decorated. Being at the front of the hotel it had a great view!

Room was exceptionally hot and I had to leave the windows open. My room was at the front of the hotel with a great view, but LOTS of noise. Unfortunately, following the recent room decoration, a few small carpet pins were sticking up at the bathroom entrance which were reported. Could do with more staff at breakfast time as people were left waiting for a while to be seated / order, and bread/croissants weren’t refilled.
