Pleasant hotel, good value for money.

Hotel is centrally located and was very good value for money. The food was good and there were gluten free options. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the porter.

There was music in the bar downstairs which was very audible in our bedroom when we were trying to sleep, I wonder if there are rooms available where the noise level is not intrusive.

Absolutely would not recommend they tried to charge 2000 euro deposit for a room then was taken 1000 staff was horrible at the front desk including the manager very racist I found them to be stay away folks

Very central location and staff very friendly and clean

Very noisy at night with music till late in bar and function hall. Lots of customers shouting and banging doors late at night so not great with kids staying.

Christmas Party Night Stay

Staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming despite being busy and run off their feet due to the Christmas season. Breakfast staff were wonderful.

Lots of noise at night, including the fire alarm going off. Entirely due to guest misbehaviour and not something the staff could have helped, but it soured our stay. It won't put us off returning though.

Central, good downstairs bar.

Rooms are very dated. Elevator floor was sticky. Wallpapers peeling off walls in the corridor. Disco downstairs on our first night left the walls of our room shaking.

Cancelled Rooms :(

Our booking was cancelled when we arrived and they could not locate any of the booking information from booking.com and we did not stay at the hotel and had to find alternative accommodation was which totally unacceptable . The staff there apologised and where helpful but they said it was booking.com who where at fault, so there obviously is an issue with communications between both companies that need resolved as I wouldn't want this to happen to any other customers.

Great location

Great location in the middle of the town. Clean but basic. Bed not the most comfortable and the place is just dated. We were looking out at a load of fans in the wall.

Nice hotel, handy location

Bridie on reception was very helpful. Lovely bedroom and bathroom, seems to have been done up recently. The soup and brown bread in the bar was incredible

Housekeeping knocked on the door at 9.30am to clean the room and never bothered coming back later when we asked them to. Water pressure in the shower was very poor. Mattress on the bed wasn't great. They don't have their own carpark

Went to see a group perform and had to queue for an hour. There were people constantly jumping the queue and despite the number of door attendants the people managed to fool the system. Not enough seats for tickets sold

Fine for an overnight stay

I found the place rather dark and gloomy. The room was all right - nothing special - but we were only there overnight. The music in the bar in the evening was fun. We ate out and I can't remember whether we had breakfast there but think probably not.

Brighten up the place particularly the reception area and the corridors etc. Could do with a make over throughout but I suspect it does well trading on its reputation and location and as a wedding and event location.

Central location in the busy marketplace. Lift to upper floors. Large room and bathroom allowing me to freely move about with my walker. Staff helpful and friendly.Good breakfast. Busy nightlife, live music in nearby bars.

Managed to park in the square, but little or no disabled parking. Main town car park too far and up a hill for me to walk.

The location was excellent and the staff were friendly.

The bathroom was short of towels—easily remedied by staff. The grout was not clean though—moldy on a section of shower floor, and the water pressure for the shower was fine for cold but disappointing for warm water.

Hotel was fine but not the place to stay if you want a late drink with a group of friends.

Location

Were told last orders from the bar at 10.40pm on Sunday night. We were told to go out to front foyer at 11.00pm to finish drinks. We were then told if we wanted a late drink to go over to McCafferty's Bar. At 11.30pm we were told to vacate the front foyer so the next stop was bed ;(

Very decent experience for the cost.

The staff were fantastic. The bed and pillow was so comfy and I had a great nights sleep.

The decor in the accommodation areas felt very dated - old carpets; shabby furniture in the corridors. In our room, there was mildew on the shower curtain and the curtain rod holding up the netting was held up by a screw and fell if you tried to move that layer of the drapes. Some members of our travelling group were deeply unimpressed with the food service; but again, the floor staff went out of their way to try and resolve the issue - I suspect the issue was in the kitchen and certainly not with the wait staff.

Room are very basic for the price you pay. 2nd floor room in a maze of a layout to get to with no air flowing as window doesn’t let any air in. TBF- fan was provided after asking at front desk. Shower was not great with absolutely no water pressure

Abbey not great tbh

The location was good.

Most Staff were overwhelmed. And not friendily. A lot of.young staff doing bar operations with no leadership on what may have been the busiest day in year so far.for the hotel..? We were given green wristbands but really not sure why. There was no visible benefits. Bouncers were pleasant and nice enough. I do recommend that space should have been reserved for residents to watch match that were staying...we have stayed here often but very disappointed this time. Went to reception and queried why breakfast wasn't included in our price as another couple we met paid same but had breakfast included. I was told that it was because I booked on booking.com! We ate our breakfast at blueberry and it was fabulous and excellent customer service.

A great stay in the centre of town, so walk anywhere, but come back to a quiet room.

Disappointing. We cut short our stay after just one day.

The welcome from Reception when we checked in was warm and friendly.

Almost every aspect of our stay failed to meet expectations. The hotel is well-presented from the outside, but was poorly lit on the inside. Our room looked over the inner core of the hotel giving a view of the rooftops and noisy air conditioning and heating vents. There was a pervasive unpleasant smell in the room during our stay. The beds were unstable and uncomfortable. Our evening meal was far short of expectations, and the menu choice very limited. The quality of ingredients offered at breakfast was poor.
