Nice but could be improved

Location is great, reception area was lovely, plenty of parking. Views were lovely. Room was lovely. Breakfast was very nice and chocolates and water in room was a nice touch.

No soundproofing in room. Could hear peoples conversations, could hear people peeing and flushing the toilet. Black mold in kettle that i had to clean but put me off using. Deserts in bar were not nice. I wanted to send sticky toffee pudding back as it was horrible but my husband wouldnt let me. Shower tray almost floods, room wasnt ready for check in at 3pm. Told by the very unwelcoming receptionist that check in was 4 and they had wedding and they would phone when room was ready. No phone call and went back to reception after 4. Hair clip in room and mold in kettle and no tea or coffee topped up in room. Asked reception for coffee and waited over 1hr for it to be delivered to room. Bed very small double but comfy. Room heating did not work and was cold. Disabled toilet's flush not very accessible

A great hotel to explore donegal

This was a very comfortable hotel with a lovely view to the front. The rooms were well equipped with everything needed.. It is in a good location for an easy walk into town. The breakfast was delicious.

It would have been good to have a vending machine in the hotel to purchase snacks.

Great staff and location

All staff were excellent - friendly and efficient. Breakfast good. Chef went out of his way to make pancakes for us which was great. Dinner was very good for fish and meat dishes. Great location and views.

Limited choice of fresh fruits, yogurts, seeds etc at breakfast. No porridge. No separate bar from the dining area.

The Waterfront Hotel was the perfect location for our vacation and close to the CFN airport

Breakfast was amazing ; there was a HUGE selection of hot and cold foods. Our bubbly, cheerful housecleaner was a joy. Love the views of the water!!

Location and views perfect over tidal mud flats.

The quality of food at the restaurant was dissappointing and not cheap. Not the silver service it holds itself out to be. For example, my baked portobello mushroom was described as being stuffed with ratatouille (a delightful vegatable stew of fresh tomatoes, zuchini, eggplant etc). Mine came with a sauce of semi dried tomatoes in bitter tomato paste. Not pleasant.

Location exceptional. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff were excellent. Our room which didn't have a sea view was very comfortable.

Disappointing and poor value

The location overlooking the harbour and seafront.

Very poor value for money. Tiny room and minute bathroom. Bed side lamp broken and hanging off the wall. Dinner average but breakfast poor with below average ingredients.

On the day booking a solo trip, recommend to stay

Hotel has great views, there's also a gym that can be used if staying, petrol station across the road is handy if you need fuel the next morning, I had dinner here and the food was fantastic and I thought it was reasonably priced, Breakfast was great with lots of sections the little croissants and pastries were amazing.

Beautiful hotel, located overlooking beach. Staff were warm and friendly and the rooms were spotless. Food amazing. Beautiful walk through gardens where hotel produce is grown down to the sea.

A little far from nearest town ( Clonakilty. Cork is a large county so takes a while to reach destination. Bedroom not the biggest but well equipped with beautiful sea view.

Had a wonderful stay at The Waterfront Hotel.

The Waterfront Hotel is a beautiful hotel situated in a wonderful location in Dungloe. We stayed in the O’Leary Suite and the room was fabulous. There is everything you need and the lovely housekeeping staff can assist you should you require additional supplies. The view from the room was also lovely. Staff at the Waterfront go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and everyone is very welcoming. The hotel food is delicious. At breakfast there was a wide range of hot and cold foods to choose from but the full Irish breakfast was delicious! Special thanks to Colin the chef for being so kind and welcoming, it was very much appreciated. The restaurant in the evening serves beautiful food too with daily specials. The fresh fish is outstanding and so tasty. I highly recommend giving the Waterfront a visit, whether for lunch/dinner or a relaxing stay. It is within walking distance to a variety of shops and amenities. I would also like to say a special thank you to Mairead on reception as she made our stay that much more enjoyable with our daily chats, and her always making sure that we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. She is an asset to the team. I hope to return to the Waterfront again soon. Thank you very much for everything, from Lisa & Maryann.

From first impressions to final goodbyes this hotel exceeded our expectations on every count. We would love to visit again one day.

Difficult to find fault. It would be good to have access to more TV channels not just the Virgin Irish programmes. So if provision could be made for connection to BBC in particular that would be great.

Lovely position

Very well positioned, lots of parking. Clean. Modern. Everything works well. Lots of staff. Restaurant not open, but food served in the bar area ( where you also have breakfast). Food was as really good, much better than you might expect in a pub. Service prompt. Good gym behind hotel which you can use for free. Trying hard as a hotel and a really nice stay. Obviously successful, quite busy. We’d go again.

The smell of the kitchen permeates the building. In our room you could not run a bath without getting into it. We didn’t manage to use it at all.
