We felt this hotel is more 4 star than 5 star and the rooms are in need of refurbishment.

Lovely

IT is a lovely place with the most amazing staff, an awesome breakfast and the best pool area’s in Stellenbosch. Very close to the center and completely safe.

IT really needs restoration. The buildings are beautiful, old English style but the layers of paint can’t hide the damage. Restore it and you’re one of the most beautiful places.

A pleasant area and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable regarding restaurants in the area.

The public rooms and reception were comfortable and well maintained.

Our room (no.16) was cramped and dated and needed updating to match the rest of the hotel. The river view is a fallacy. Our window looked out onto the car park and the main road. There is a river across the road but it can’t be seen from the room. I asked if there was an alternative room but was informed they were fully booked.

Location was brilliant - around a 3 minute walk and you’re in the centre of Stellenbosch but also away from the hustle and bustle so it’s nice and quiet. Staff were lovely and always available for any requests!

Old world Charm with attention to detail and excellent service.

The room was stunning and we appreciated the detail and decor. We so loved sitting by the pool in the morning to enjoy our breakfast - such a great start to the day. The old world charm with great service was a winner for us.

Pool guy rolling up used towels and putting them back on loungers. No fridge in room. Pain flecks on bathroom floor (not cleaned properly). Bed hard as a brick. Full fat or almond milk only. Some staff really hopeful, others utterly disinterested.

My only ‘go to’ in stellenbosch. A well appointed haven

It’s just so elegant, yet feels just like home. The staff are down to earth friendly and treat you as if they’ve known you. I also got a ‘welcome back’ in the morning for breakfast. Just a beautiful haven all round

Great stay

We arrived at around 10am and the staff were so lovely and helpful, they allowed us to check into our room early and enjoy breakfast before our day of visiting wineries. We were on our honeymoon and they arranged a special surprise in the room. The breakfast was great, we enjoyed relaxing by the pool and the hotel cat Caroline was very friendly! Thank you !

It was attractive well situated

The room was tiny. The shower door stuck closed. The bathroom door locked me in. To be honest it was not a 5 star more 3. The worst hotel I stayed in in2 weeks in South Africa the b and bs were better. Never again

Overall the hotel was lovely but we weren't happy with our room.

The hotel is lovely, so many areas to relax outside your room and the staff were very accommodating, good central location

Our room was really tiny. Once we had our two suitcases open we had to step around everything and it was a real nuisance. We'd have been struggling for room with just one case open. The bathroom window wouldn't shut and the window casing was really dirty. There were no tissues which seems insignificant but I don't like blowing my nose or wiping my face on toilet paper. I would struggle to call it a 5 star experience based on the room but everything else was fine.

Fabulous boutique hotel rooms decorated to a very high standard. Staff are lovely they can't do enough to make sure you have a wonderful stay. Location is perfect right in the centre of town. Breakfast are sumptuous

This hotel is perfect. Cleanliness, quietness, friendly and professional staff, lovely food, the attention to detail is superb. The location is just perfect - just a short walk from the central part of Stellenbosch.
