Nice, quiet and comfortable guest house and easy walk into the centre (it’s at the end of the road to the botanic gardens) & good value for money. Nice attentive staff.
Slightly tired and breakfast was a little limited

Perfect location walkable to heart of Stellenbosch. Really great welcoming team.
Would be great to have more loungers around pool but now I’m being really picky

Very comfortable bed and lovely decoration. It’s very central , the botanical coffee is just around the corner, perfect for coffee.

Nice staff, bathtub and shower in the bathroom, nice location, reasonably good breakfast
Dust could be removed more systematically in some places: cleaning could be improved, but really nothing major to complain about, the property is a good choice

Pool and sun bed facilities. Good breakfast outside dining
Our room didn’t have any outside space like the other rooms , and we had a lot of stairs to climb

Delightful, slightly-faded-grandeur colonial manor, with old-world service (robes, slippers etc). Universally cheery, helpful, chatty staff. Big room; good shower, huge bed, quaint, ancient wardrobe. Very decent breakfast. Great location - University quarter, 100 yds to Botanical Gardens, wide boulevards, lots of green space. 5-10 walk mins to bars, restaurants and town centre commerces; ideal - not bang central but easily walkable.
Room a bit cold. No heating and well-shaded. Pool not heated, so not useable.

Offical check-in time is at 2, the room wasn’t ready until 2:30, despite the fact that I had told them I would arrive at 2. The room itself was nowhere near as nice as the pictures on booking suggested. The floor was filthy, the towels stained, there were hairs on the bathroom floor around the toilet and in the shower (the short and curlies kind), and not just one or two either. I got cold, but the aircon didn’t work. And the description states that the room has garden or mountain views, which is clearly a case of false advertising, because the only thing you see from that room is a parking lot, an ugly wall, bins and a laundry room, which had terrible music blearing from it. You also hear every step from the creaky floor boards above and every time anyone switches on a tap - and not just a little, it’s loud! The mattress was saggy and uncomfortable as well. I thoroughly regret staying there. This was by far the most expensive place I ever stayed in Stellenbosch and by far the worst!

Staff and owner are all wonderful. Breakfast was simple and delicious. Beautiful old building.
Possibly just the room we were in, but with the old wooden floors we heard everything in all the neighboring rooms and staircase which kept us awake quite a bit.
I might have missed the detail about spa not being on site, which I was hoping for.

The location of this property is excellent. We booked this over the winter months, so there was good value for money.
The room that was allocated to us was very small. The pictures had me believe that we would receive a larger room. So, just makes sure that you check what is allocated to you

Ultimately friendly place.. Clayton and the team cannot do too much to make the stay comfortable. The hotel has huge character and feels very much like home. It is super central with only a 4 Minute walk to town. And.... you can have beauty treatments. What else does one need.!!
Nothing. It is super comfy and super friendly.

It was centrally located to where we wanted to be the next day. The room and bathroom were spotless. A hot and cold breakfast was served the following morning.
The property is located on the corner of a busy street so if you are a light sleeper this might pose a problem. The mattress has definitely seen better days and the bedding should be replaced.

Unliked the old cape-Dutch style of the house and the treatment at the spa was excellent! Nothing better than a good massage after a long flight. Very good service and the breakfast was great too.

Paid for a luxury Kingsize Room, and was put in a small room with 2 single beds with a very uncomfortable mattress. This is not acceptable considering that it is not what I agreed to pay for.

Very good location. 5 minute walk to restaurants and centre of town. 2 small pools on site to sit and relax. Lovely staff. Good breakfast.
Accommodation was a bit old fashioned and looked out onto the car park.

Location close to the opening ceremonies for the University was simply phenomenal. I walked to all the events.
Exceptional staff. Barend was helpful and super pleasant.
It’s right next to the road so car noise is heard by 7am.
