Really good value for money. An oasis away from the hustle & bustle of town but still central. Charming farm style b

Great location, beautiful buildings - loved out room this time. Love the farm feel, the breakfast at Volkskombuis & the pool is a welcome relief in the hot Stellies weather.

A wonderful hotel

Beautiful hotel with a wonderfully warm swimming pool. We even decided to stay an extra night to enjoy another day in the pool. Bedroom was very well equipped with a lovely bathroom including a shower and bath. Breakfast is great including all other options on the menu for dinner.

The hotel is alongside the R44 which can be a bit noisy.

The location - quiet, peaceful and easily accessible

The pool is small, it can’t even accommodate more than 5 people at the same time. The pool beds are also few - making it difficult for others to can relax if one family is already utilising the pool and pool beds. It was difficult to switch on the TV using the remote and when changing channels as well. The is no spar or even gym within the property like many southern sun hotels. The beds in both our rooms are old and uncomfortable - my husband and my daughter came back with serious back pains because of the beds. The restaurant does not do buffet and it was same breakfast choices throughout our stay, some days we skipped breakfast because we were tired of the food.

Great location, comfortable, but more attention to cleaning required

Delicious breakfast included, and surprise kitchenette in room. Roll top bath was a lovely. Really convenient parking outside of room and great walking distance into town. The two king bed set up in the room and cot was perfect for our young family.

Travelling with children so have to check under the bed, and they were absolutely filthy. Really, really thick with dust and clearly have not been cleaned in months and months, there was even a previous guest's bracelet under the bed amongst the dust. Seeing that much dust let down an otherwise great stay.

There are missing elements for a hotel that is located in a very popular destination wedding region. Not having an option for steaming/pressing clothing for formal events is an unfortunate setup for such a well put together accommodation.

Overall we had a great stay.

The location was great and the overall feeling of relaxation between the greenery.

The show was dirty…the grout and ceiling had mould. Spider webs in the corner of the windows.

Excellent hotel, service and location.

Breakfast is served at De Volkskombuis which is an excellent restaurant next to the hotel. The food and service are exceptional. The restaurant is a beautifully restored building with a rich history.

The mattress in the room I occupied was too soft to my liking and could do with a replacement. The pillows were also not what I prefer.

The location of the hotel, the restaurant next door as well as the high standard of the rooms. I love the traditional and French feel of the decor.

Beautiful for couples or business

The location was close to Stellenbosch centre and felt safe. The sister restaurant served a good breakfast with the option of each other meals there too. A beautiful looking place with a great lounge area and small pool with good facilities (toilet and shower).

The family room was small with small double beds. The layout was not well thought out. The kitchette is a good idea but not the cost of limited wardrobe space and somewhere to put suitcases.

I was disappointed when I left my toiletries behind. I send an email to ask them to keep it for me, and will fetch it in a week's time on my way home. I never received a response on my mail. On my arrival a week later, they confirmed that they received the mail, but housekeeping could not find anything and said that it was most likely disposed off. When I ask what the lost goods policy is, it was confirmed that housekeeping should have handed it in as reception.

VERY disappointed in the value - due to the A/C not working in the rooms.

The location was perfect. The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were spacious and very nice. Everything was very clean.

The A/C did not work in 3 out of the 4 rooms - for the ENTIRE stay. The rooms stayed between 32 - 36 degrees. The front desk staff was VERY rude when asked about it. Unacceptable for the price paid.

The staff and service are exemplary. They make a special hotel an even better stay. This includes the team at reception (Melissa, Namhla, etc.) and the team at breakfast (Managers, and wait personnel). Well done Guys - keep it up!

Exceeded expectations

The room was spacious, well decorated and spotless! The staff responded quickly and were friendly. The facilities were great; beautiful pool area, with a clean pool and facilities. Can’t wait to return!

The window shutter was broken and couldn’t close properly but I’m sure this is an easy fix and it didn’t ruin our stay! I’d definitely return.
