Comfortable and welcoming stay

The property is very close to the centre of town and an easy walk to some great restaurants. We had a one night stay and Ilsebet welcomed us. Our room wasn’t ready but we were early so we wandered around town for a little while. Our bags had been put in our room ready for our return. The bed was very comfortable and room very spacious.

Beautiful old building in fabulous central yet quiet location. The staff were first class and very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a good range of options. The room was very comfortable. This place definitely undersells itself when it comes to photos!

Ilzabet, the manager, is warm, attentive, and truly a standout host. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding! The property is ideally located just a short walk from the heart of Stellenbosch. Set in a charming historic building, it beautifully blends old-world character with modern comforts. There are several inviting common areas where guests can relax, read, or get some work done if they prefer not to stay in their spacious rooms.

The personalized welcome by Ilzebet and the continued interaction was excellent. Parking was over the road and convenient. Bed was comfortable and the room was very pleasant. Breakfast was very good. We shall stay again next time.

I like quality modern bathroom sanware but the taps were dated without mixers which I suppose is historically appropriate for the property. Not a dealbreaker but just a personal choice.

Great place to stay and experience old world luxury

Well located, convenient for the town, bars and restaurants. Amazing big rooms/ bathrooms. Very friendly staff and welcoming owner/ manager. Sherry , free sweets and biscuits in the room. TV in the room was a bit small but there were large TVs in the many communal lounges. Expected a continental breakfast but was surprised to be offered a cooked breakfast. Shame we had to dash back to Cape town for a flight. Would have loved to linger and enjoy it more. Would book there again if we returned.

We had a warm and friendly welcome, and every interaction with the staff was a pleasure. The entire establishment is spotless, with timeless décor and furniture that not only complements the building’s character but is also highly functional. The location is excellent—within easy walking distance of numerous great restaurants, as well as the Endler Hall. We’ll definitely be back!

A very hospitable, clean, secure and central guest house with a wonderfully charming atmosphere.

My partner and I loved every second of our stay at De Hoek Manor. Ilzebet was incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. We loved breakfast and the breakfast room. The staff were also very attentive. Our room was stunning with views of Church street and the church. The location is as central as it gets with a choice of restaurants a few steps away. There is also secure off road parking. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean and the bed was big and comfy. There was air-conditioning, decent cupboard space and a mirror/hairdryer for me to do my make up and hair. There were complimentary chocolates, rusks, tea and coffee pods and a Nespresso machine which made my day. It was really an exceptional stay and I can see a lot of effort and thought goes into the presentation and management of the space! I would definitely return! :)

The Guesthouse is located right accross the road from the Historical Dutch Reformed Church founded in 1687, a spectacular view of the Church from the lounges dining room and some bedroom windows and it is walking distance to many other historical sites and world class Restaurants.A safe but vibrant location. Beautifully decorated very spacious many lounges balconies and garden courtyards to enjoy.!The Manager a very gracious lady went beyond what I expected to really make us feel superbly welcome and comfortable.Very professional.! Breakfast was incredibly well presented AAA+++

Great stay in fabulous property.

We had a lovely, large room with a huge bed. There was a fridge with still and sparkling water and also a small milk. The water used was replaced daily. Breakfast was amazing. It was presented really nicely with different homemade items like quiche and scones on different days. There were also fresh fruits and yoghurt and a cooked breakfast to be had, so much it was a shame we couldn’t eat it all! The location was great, just round the corner from shops and restaurants and guarded parking was across the street.
