The Old Post office is in the quiet village of Bernisdale about 5 miles out of Portree. A rural location ideal for peace and tranquility.
It has been lovingly converted and restored by it's owner to become a delightful cosy holiday cottage.
1 double, and a shower room.
A lovely wood burning stove in the main living area brings warmth to the whole house and is wonderful to put on after a days hiking or sightseeing.
In a quiet and delightful location with views to the Cullin and across Loch Snizort.
There is garden to the front and rear.

This place was everything that engulfs Scotland. The layout was perfect for us, as 2 couples. It’s was so comfortable, the little stove was so cute and cozy. The drying rack was just awesome as well. Perfectly located for our travels around Skye. Instructions were well received once we got into the house… The only hiccup we had was lack of communication for the arrival. We had to wait and make a few phone calls from other sites to get a hold of the management team. But once I got someone, they were so helpful and informative and explained what happened. Our stay was amazing! Thank you

The Bernisdale Old Post Office was an absolutely lovely, charming and comfortable place to stay for a visit to Isle of Skye. The property is well-cared for and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. It was clean and well-equipped and the communication before and during the stay was excellent. This is one of our favorite places to stay ever! The Old Post Office is very small but oh so cozy. We ended up with 5 of us (the late addition of my daughter!) so it was tight but we felt very comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied, the bathroom clean and the beds comfortable. We especially loved the little cast iron fireplace, call the Hobbit! Very relaxing and very centrally located for exploring Skye!

Delightful and tastefully furnished cottage. Brief period of dog barking on our arrival day but none subsequently. Very peaceful and quiet. The tranquility is offset by a little bit of a drive to most destinations- although Portree is only about 10 minutes. Car a necessity.

We had a quiet and comfortable stay in the Post Office. It has a beautiful garden and picnic table in the back for a sunny summer day. Beds were comfortable and could easily accommodate two couples. Kitchen was accommodated with all appliances needed for a nice dinner or breakfast as well.. Not very close to the big town, but close enough to drive quickly.

A great 3 days in a lovely cottage. Very comfortable and welcoming. Well equipped kitchen (small but just enough space). Good shower. Very clean throughout. Comfy beds. Lovely front and rear gardens with lots of bulbs and a great bird feeder (fat balls provided :). I will definitely stay there again!

Great wee cottage a ten minute drive from Portree. Good central location for gettibg to the various parts of the island. The house was very clean, lots of fuel and firewood provided for the log burner and very tastefully decorated. Very coorie !! We will definitely stay here again. NB a lot of comments about neighbours dog barking.... you would need batmanesque hearunf levels to be able to hear him once windows are closed. And its a dog....its what they do folks.

The Old Post Office was a really nice cottage in Bernisdale - about 5 miles north of Portree. It was well furnished, with a very comfortable double bed and an excellent shower. It had all the amenities we needed for our stay and everything was nice & clean. The cottage also has a second twin bedded room so could accommodate four people. There was a bottle of wine on arrival which was very much appreciated after a long day driving & sightseeing plus it was my birthday so that went down very well indeed and was a very nice touch. We can't recommend the cottage enough and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!

First , the positives. The location is great in the middle of the island, not far from most of the places you’d want to visit. The management company was also helpful and communicative before our stay. The house itself is OK, if a little small and basic in some areas. It was clean and reasonably well equipped, and with quick WiFi. But to be honest it is pretty cramped for four adults - might be better for a couple and two kids. The mattresses could also do with an upgrade at this price level. Also, and I know there’s not much the owners can do about this, but we were woken up every morning by the neighbour’s dog barking at 6/6.30, which was a little irritating on holiday.

From the moment I booked, we had great communication from Skye letting , letting us know when we could arrive, which was earlier than the original time, the directions were spot on. In the cottage their is a little wood burner, which we had on at night's, plenty sticks to keep it going and it was so cosy The cottage was so spotlessly clean, which I think is very important at this time, lovely fresh towels and the bedding is professionally cleaned, new carpets and everything you could possibly need in the house There is a nice wooden table and chairs out the back, which we managed to use the first couple of days before the rain started Extremely enjoyable few days, will definitely be back

We would recommend the old post office cottage for a visit to Skye. Great location within 15mins drive to Portree for all amenities, and a great central location to explore the island. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable for my husband, 7 year old son and I. It was clean with everything we needed. The bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely wee touch and very much enjoyed! Thank you for a lovely stay :-)

An absolutely brilliant, cosy, comfortable cottage on Skye! All the latest mod-cons yet still keeping the original feel of a traditional cottage with the thick, whitewashed walls and drying pulley. Only a short 15 minute drive north of Portree. Extremely comfortable beds and living area - we were sad to leave! Iain and family, Edinburgh.

We enjoyed our stay and the house is very cute. Thankful of all appliances available. Maybe remove sky as it isn’t paid for so a lot of programmes don’t work, t.v is great as it’s a smart tv so still plenty of choice to watch what you like. Living room seating isn’t very comfortable and the bed isn’t very comfortable might be best if there is a good mattress protector on it?? The dog next door is annoying as it barks a hell of a lot. Heating ... I think maybe a fan for the log burner would help circulate heat in the living room as it’s very hard to heat that room, and is the room that you mostly be in. These however are not complaints (apart from the dog) they are just factors i feel will help improve the stay. The house itself is very lovely and we did enjoy our time there. The caretaker was a very nice man and was lovely to meet him...

The old post office was a lovely property. We enjoyed the small hobbit fireplace. It made our stay so cozy. Kitchen was modern and clean. Bathroom clean and well appointed. Would like to see a hand towel hanger near sink...never see this in Scotland. Would be nice to supply facecloths if required for North American visitors. Travelling with 2 couples ...one room has single beds which was not bad but mattress was not comfortable. Linens were white and clean. Had washer & clothes line which was perfect but no clothespins to hang clothes. Purchased some at local store. Ben was very friendly & helpful to deal with.
