The Boathouse

We really enjoyed our stay at The Boathouse. It was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. It's a cosy conversion off the main road, which in turn makes for a peaceful and quiet environment. Communications from the host were good and key collection was routine. Car parking is next to the property and it was easy enough to find. The property is just a few miles outside Stonehaven - which is a decent place to visit with a pretty harbour, local shops and a supermarket. The property is also well located for heading out along the Aberdeenshire coast. The local castle at Dunnottar is beyond spectacular and is just down the road and worth visiting. As I said we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay there again if travelling in that area

There wasn't really anything we didn’t like - but just one thing to be aware if. The communications about a property damage deposit of £150 were a little ambiguous - describing as pre-authorisation of a credit card and also describing as deposit. In practice it was a deposit taken a few days in advance. Having said that the refund back to my credit card was processed quickly (literally the following day). So this isn't a problem but it's probably worth being aware of. All in all a very good stay and one we wouldn’t hesitate to recomend.

It is in a really peaceful place with gorgeous open fields and the sea is within walking distance. Lovely and clean.

It would be good to have a dishwasher and some more tumbler-size glasses

Lovely comfortable house, loved the decor, and it was extremely clean. Very quiet location, enjoyed listening to the birds.

Nothing really - perhaps would benefit from a couple of beer glasses 😁
