A lovely stay in central Ieper

I really enjoyed my stay at East&West. I arrived early via motorcycle and Sophie let me park in the private parking area right in the entrance. It was a huge relief to know my bike was safe for the stay. My room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for my stay. The views out of the window were lovely and the location is perfect for exploring by foot.

I had the fact this was a B&B in my mind, but there was no second B (breakfast), which was a shame. That would have made the stay perfect. Not the fault of the hotel, but there was some kind of street party just a few metres from the from of the hotel on the night I stayed. I was kept awake until 2.30am. Some kind of warning would have been appreciated so I could have been better prepared with earplugs.

A room with a view (incl parking and an elevator!)

We have had a most perfect stay at B&B East&West. For us, it was a last minute decision to travel through Ypern on our road trip and we were glad we found this little gem. Thank you very much to our host for making this short-notice stay possible! The location was stunning and very convenient if you want to explore the city centre on foot. We very much appreciated the on-site parking because the public car parks in the area had a daily time limit. The building has a lift which was perfect to move our luggage to the top floor, and the view from our window was gorgeous. We felt we had great privacy and the bed was very comfy - we slept like babies.

This was an all-around great experience and we would always come back and recommend this place. Book this place if you want to support a small business. Breakfast was not offered but we loved exploring the nearby cafes.

It was in a garage in centre of town with no en-suite bathrooms. When booked I thought it was part of Europe’s B&B chain of hotels in which we have stayed before and are very good. But this is a single hotel run by a Chinese woman who is not at the hotel most of the time. We didn’t stay

As a Brit, I made the mistake of (mis) understanding that the accommodation provided breakfast. There are plenty positive reviews of the breakfast provided - but that was before lock-down. Besides there are many cafes and bakeries just on the doorstep, close by to the Cathedral to pick up a decent breakfast.

Location is super.. Right in the Centre. Service from Sophia was fabulous. There were big problems in the Channel Tunnel which delayed my crossing so it was dark and foggy. Through Sophia's efficiency, she was able to accommodate me at very short notice.. Brilliant.. She is a star!

Great stay in Ypres, would look to book again.

The location was perfect, with amazing views from our room. We had a lovely welcome from Sophia, who gave us a welcome gift and made sure we had a map of Ypres and pointed out just enough on the map for us to get our bearings to go and explore prior to leaving us to it. We had a whole floor to ourselves it was more like living in an apartment for a few days rather than a hotel room. The bed was huge and so warm and comfortable, we accidently slept in one day, so we must have needed the sleep. There's also a garage underneath, which was perfect for us as we arrived by motorbike.

Whilst advertised as a B&B, this is not your typical UK style B&B as there is no breakfast included, but there are plenty of places out front next to the hotel for breakfast. But even this didn't upset us as it gave us another opportunity to explore things.

A B&B without breakfast...

Location was excellent. We were welcomed by a friend of the hosts, but communication online communcation with the host went very fluently. The room was clean and comfortable.

It turns out that breakfast is not included (in fact not even offered anymore at the b&b), we were refered to a breakfast restaurant a few houses further. Looking back in the description, it indeed does not mention breakfast, but it also doesn't mention that breakfast is not included. I found this misleading: after all, b&b stands for bed&breakfast, so one expects a breakfast, I would say. Taking this into account, the price is really too high for what it is.

Great location- no service at all, we made our own beds

The property is in an excellent location and they had great storage for our motorbikes. We arrived there at 6.00pm to find the place locked up. I rang the lady who said she was working and she get to us as soon as she could. She rushed over with 2 keys and we never saw anyone again. We left our keys in the door when we left.

Not really a bed & breakfast establishment as no breakfast is included at booking more of a guest house. The rooms are not on suite as the bathroom is in a separate room at the end of a corridor not a issue as you have a whole floor to yourselves so it is a private bathroom.

An absolutely gorgeous place to stay. I came to Ypres for the ww1 history, however what I didn’t expect was how incredible the town itself was. The view from my window was stunning, looking at the huge big cathedral and the main strip of town. It was in perfect walking distance from the train station, the Flanders fields museum and the Menin gate. The room itself was also lovely, it was super clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. I would love to come back to Ypres again and if I do I’ll definitely be staying here

Lovely stay in Ypres

Sophia the hostess was amazing. We turned up to roadworks in the square which meant we couldn't use the parking facilities. She jumped in the car with us and we drove to a free parking area and then she kindly helped us with our luggage. Accommodation was spotless and right next to the square and literally 5mins walk to all you need. Although unusual the bathroom was at the end of the hallway. It didn't worry us but be aware if you are of a shy nature 😅

It was cold but Sophia had already kindly put the heating on for our arrival so once again we will praise Sophia. 👏

Very poor

After my stay I noticed a message in my email box from the hotel saying that I stayed 2 person instead of 1. The worst part is they said I there was a lady with me. Which was not the case of course! So they blame me without any facts! Can you imagine how could it damage my family life if my wife does not know the reality!!! Ridiculous! Shameless!!! I will report them and I do not suggest this b&b to anyone!

Convenient Location

Great location for Ypres Centrum, very helpful and friendly owner, comfortable room, clean and spacious.

Not much to dislike. Bathroom was at end of corridor but was not an issue, parking was a bit of a walk as Ypres was very busy plus road was dug up outside B&B. Bells got a bit noisy, but it was Remembrance Tide.
