Exceptional comfy accommodation

The owner contacted us in advance around arrival and directions. He also explained access to the property and car parking which was helpful. An email with information was sent re keys and entry. Upon arrival everything was perfect. A tray of refreshments was waiting and milk plus wine in the fridge All cleaning, laundry, hand wash, shower gels and additonal kitchen items in cupboards to use. Very much home from home and comfortable. A file with instructions on using appliances, how everything worked plus local amenities/walks and things to do was equally helpful

There was nothing about the accomodation and comfort not to like

I am not in the business of criticising things without good reason and there was nothing "wrong" with the property, with the helpfulness of the hosts, or with my stay, but I have stayed in other properties which have offered a lot more and that is the basis for the rating here.

Well appointed, self contained unit. Ideal location for exploring the Peak District. Friendly owner who took an interest in our visit and gave us great local advice.

Perfect for easy access to beautiful walks from the front door and close to local amenities.

Very comfortable, lovely layout, perfect for 2. Well equipped. Information on surrounding area excellent. Local pubs really good. As were the village shops/cafe.

It was a great place to stay, improvements would be better WiFi and a more powerful shower but understand the location could hamper this.

Great stay in the heart of the Peak District.

Great location in centre of pretty little village. Everything we needed in a compact apartment. Three nice pubs for food nearby. Close to Buxton and Bakewell and Peak Trails.

Perfect location, a lovely place to chill and unwind.

The location at the centre of the village, with free parking. The accommodation is perfect for two, bed nice and comfy, the only slight problem is getting your Car in through the narrow gap at first, be sure to be square on to the entrance and you’ll be fine, do not try and cut the corner. The hosts are excellent with a good amount of information to make your stay as full as possible. The village is beautiful with walks down to and along the river.

Great stay at the barn!

The apartment was spotless, very good size (especially for a couple) and very well equipped. There are numerous walks starting from the doorstep and it is only 12 minutes drive to Bakewell for greater choice of restaurants and shops. The parking is not all that bad.. once you get the car in through it becomes easier and easier. Would definitely stay again!

Everything was great.if you have a large car then it might be tricky to find parking at the village. Especially during busy times such as school holidays.

Just take care with car access between the stone houses to get to the property. It is very tight.

Nicest hosts ever!

The hosts, Ken and Carol, couldn't be more friendly! What a warm welcome we received. They have put a lot of thought and effort into making your stay comfortable and homely. The barn was spotless; really exceptional. Bed was ok enough. The location is fabulous with a couple of very handy shops on the doorstep and some good pubs too. There is parking but the hosts do ensure you are fully aware of the entrance and the challenge it poses. There is more parking along the street or at either end of the village if you can't quite face the experience of the alleyway. Very friendly neighbours in the courtyard too. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Wasn't sure why there were so many sofas in the barn when it only sleeps two😉.

Very comfortable with everything you need. Very clean and the area was great for walking. Owners friendly and informative about the area.

Parking was a bit tight but plenty of parking away from the barn within a short distance.

Highly recommend this accommodation for attention to detail and brilliant location.

Excellent accommodation in a stunning location. Youlgreave has such great amenities for a small place - 3 pubs, a great shop, a post office and even a bakery! Hosts were brilliant - gave us a courtesy call the evening before and checked everything was what we needed. Great walking area and proximity to Bakewell is a bonus. And lovely to have a balcony. The cobs are great in the village shop which is literally 20 seconds walk away!

Small thing - great to have off road parking but access is a little tricky and a fairly tight parking space. But that's being very picky - it's fine for a small/medium size car. Just leave the Bentley at home!

A lovely stay

We’ve had a wonderful few days at the barn. It’s a beautiful setting with some amazing views of the surrounding fields, hills and sheep from the skylight windows. The cottage/flat is warm and cosy. It has everything you need and was the perfect base for us. Youlgrave is a delightful village, with a lovely little shop just next door and a great pub over the road. There are some really nice walks from the door, had we not been walking the Monsal trail from Bakewell itself we could’ve easily left the car parked up for the whole weekend. There’s plenty to do in the area but more so in the spring/summer months as many places close over the winter. This didn’t stop us having plenty of fresh air and relaxation though. We had a very warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thanks

Perfect holiday cottage

Clean and spotless. Has all the comforts of home, and every detail has been carefully thought about. It’s location is ideal for most places. About 5 miles outside Bakewell in a small, quiet village with a lovely pub over the road serving excellent food if you don’t fancy driving in the evening.

Couldn’t find anything to dislike about this lovely cottage.
