The property was so cosy and lovely and the location is perfect for Bakewell with everything just a few minutes walk away. The hosts were so considerate too making sure everything was absolutely spot on. We were really impressed and will definitely book again if we return to Bakewell.

Perfect. Just perfect.

Heather Cottage is just lovely. You couldn't ask more from a family getaway in this beautiful part of the country - it's got everything you need for a few days away. The location is spot on for a short stroll into town, and perfect to mix self catering with visits to restaurants and pubs in the wider area. The kitchen is well equipped, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are extremely comfortable with excellent linen and pillows. We've stayed in lots of places in Derbyshire, and never been disappointed - but Heather Cottage is top of the tree, and we'll definitely be back soon - a wholehearted five stars!

Nothing for us. The staircase is indeed pretty steep, as others have noted, but we had no issues ourselves.

Totally 💯 amazing, cottage, location, and town had it all

The property was the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in. It was clean, comfortable, warm, inviting and there wasn't a single thing that wasn't available, I cooked a full xmas dinner for our party and had every pot or pan I could have needed, I will 100 percent be going back 😀

Pretty cottage presented nicely in a perfect location close to the village. Lovely little extras like the rubber duck make it extra special. The owners were lovely and accommodating also so would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Floor boards were slippery after coming in from the rain and very creaky so woke each other up at night when moving around but that can’t be helped in an older rustic building like this.

An absolute gem, what a fantastic property, would highly recommend.

The cottage was extremely clean and fantastically well equipped with lots of cleaning products, Carolyn and Richard had thought of everything. Both bedrooms were very spacious each with their own bathroom, 1st floor had bath and shower, 2nd floor a very large shower. Bed linen and towels were of a high quality. Hair dryer and straighteners were provided in each bedroom as was portable a portable air con unit. Location was fantastic, very close to Bakewell centre, show ground and Brewery. Permit provided for parking, we were lucky enough to get a parking place right outside the property.

The property is on the main road where you can hear some traffic noise. If you have some mobility issues the stairs are steep. The only outside space was the front of the house, it does have a bench to sit on. None of these things were an issue for us.

A thoroughly enjoyable short stay at a superbly equipped cottage

We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights. It is one of the best equipped holiday cottages we have stayed at. Close to Bakewell town centre, with a permit to park nearby, the location is great. Standard of cleanliness of the highest order.Towels and bed-linen very high quality. We would return to stay without any hesitation.

Loved the location ..open fire was a bonus as it was so cold.. the character of the cottage was cute.. so cosy..bed was like sleeping on a cloud with beautiful linen and fluffy towels...

It took awhile for the cottage to heat up when we arrived... as it was very cold..

Snug cottage

Super location, nice fitments, very comfy beds. Loved the open fire, lots of thoughtful touches, very warm property. Great hosts who have thought of everything.

Very steep stairs, we had an elderly relative who struggled a bit. All toilets are upstairs so was quite difficult for them. On the main road, but double glazing was efficient, especially as we were there a storm weekend.

The countryside around Bakewell is absolutely stunning and this was a great place to stay.

Very comfortable cottage, with nice details. Plenty of comfortable seating and ample storage space, well equipped kitchen, good shower, all nicely decorated.

Was a bit concerned about busy road, but there was barely any traffic at night, so our sleep was not disturbed. The single beds might be a bit tight for bigger teens or grown-ups, but were fine for our boys.

It was an awesome stay at this historic cottage in Bakewell, fitted with all the modern amenities, right in the town centre, which offered awesome food choices. Halal food is only a 20-minute drive to Bakewell. The owners, particularly Carolyn, are not only hospitable but also kind and forthcoming. 10/10

A beautiful cottage, right in the heart of Bakewell, with easy driving to the beautiful locations

The cottage was clean and comfortable, with everything you would need for your stay. The homemade jam and shortbread biscuits was a lovely welcoming touch. An easy walk to the cafes, pubs and shops in Bakewell village, and easy driving to enjoy the wonder Peak District

There was nothing we didn’t like about our cottage, although the steep stairs to the bedrooms were a challenge. Fortunately we had our adult son travelling with us who took our bags up to our delightful ensuite master bedroom

Superb

We loved our holiday in Heather Cottage in Bakewell. The cottage has such a warm and inviting feel and is well equipped for all our needs. The location is perfect on the edge of the village and very quiet despite being on a main road running through the village. It was the most wonderful place from which to explore not only the village itself but also the beautiful surrounding areas and, of course, try a Bakewell pudding, or tart which was delicious.
