A lovely property in a beautiful part of the county. Receiving the keys was easy upon arrival and the house was warm throughout too. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were games, DVDs etc. to use. Parking at the front was straightforward too and easy to transport cases etc. into the house.

Clean and warm cottage/barn. Beds were comfy. Plenty of space to park right outside. We booked this as we were visiting family round the corner for Christmas. Was a one night stay. We also had a visit from a Peacock in the morning.
Couldn’t check in till 4pm. Had to check out at 9am ! This was a surprise after we booked (yes my fault for not checking I know) but 9am !? That’s the earliest check out we’ve ever experienced, and we do travel a lot. Always using booking.com for accommodation. I’d assumed a normal check out time of say 10am or 11am but 9am just seems crazy. And with absolutely no option to request earlier check in or later check out. For the £305 we paid for the night that worked out at £18 per hour! Can’t understand why the hosts need 7 hours to turn it round for the next guests ? It’s a shame but it would be this reason alone we wouldn’t stay again.

Fantastic location and in a beautiful area for walking. We had a car and were very happy that we could park right outside the door. Much more spacious than expected and as there were only two of us it seemed enormous. very well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen plus extra toiletries in the bathroom. Milk and chocolate biscuits on arrival is very thoughtful x Big telly, comfy sofa and amazingly large and comfy beds! our stay was perfect.
It wasn't a problem for us but the loo is downstairs if you need it in the night and there are no doors for the bedrooms.

Beautiful and spacious property with all the things you need. Daily visits from the Peacock were amazing. We really enjoyed our stay.
No doors for the bedrooms which really disturbed our sleep. Also, struggled to get ready as there was no stool or chair to use the dressing table.

Amazing location and the cottage was just perfect. Cozy and warm and super clean! The owner was lovely, she joined us as we drove into the property and showed us around the cottage. In the morning we were greeted by a friendly peacock just outside the window. The best pick for Peak District! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

comfortable spacious exceptionally clean, nice beds, all amenities thought out. Fun farmyard pets :).
not sayin there is anything I did not like but layout is a bit strange and bath is downstairs so perhaps a night lit on the stairs would be a good idea in case you have to get up in the night…

We appreciated the personal welcome on arrival. Also the milk, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, washing up lliquid and dishwasher tablets, etc which were very welcome. The accommodation was very well appointed with so many extra thoughtful features which made us feel at home. We enjoyed the visit from the peacock and the view of the silky chickens. Would highly recommend and certainly like to return again and again.
We disliked very much the tremendous duplicated emails (paperwork) from Sykes Holiday Cottages which we did not feel necessary as we had booked the accommodation through Booking.com.

The cottage was warm on arrival and had been decorated for Xmas. Mrs Bradbury let us in and showed us the heating controls, and the complimentary milk and biscuits then left us to settle in. Cottage so cosy and comfortable. Beds duvets and pillows just right! Kitchen stocked with the necessary equipment and a nice set of knives. Everything neat and tidy. Resident Peacock and chickens were great to see on the doorstep every day. 😊

The house was beautiful, it was fully equipped and also had the basics to start us off. E.g tea, coffee, milk..
The shower did not work and the toilet had problems flushing. I know this was getting replaced once we left, but did not help our stay. Thankfully it was only for 2 nights.

It was absolutely wonderful and so welcoming. Everything was quality, very spacious, spotlessly clean and fresh and perfectly relaxing. A great base for exploring the Peaks. We loved the donkeys, the friendly chickens and daily visits from the resident peacock. Would definitely book here again.
Very poor Internet signal and on a busy A-road with quite narrow verges which made it a bit difficult to walk to nearby village. Otherwise a fantastic property, beautifully designed and excellent base for lovely walks and visits to Bakewell, Buxton, and Matlock. Would love to stay again.

Amazing little cottage right in the heart of the Peak District, great location and spacious accommodation. Really felt at home.
Shower pressure a bit low but no complaints otherwise.

It was satisfactory. We planned trip for 2 couples, but only one of us went. The lack of bedroom doors would have been an issue.

Very comfy and good furniture. Lots of room and nice comfy big beds. Very quiet with lots of walks local without getting the car out. Really upmarket and nice. Ideal for us two who want peace and quiet with good walking.
Nothing we didn't like though the shower position was difficult to use and the gateway could be marked so easier to find in the dark with the mist and rain. Small things compared with how nice and comfy the place was.

Newhaven No. 4 is situated on the busy A515 just outside the village of Biggin. It is a short walk to Biggin, but you need your wits about you on the 515!! Biggin however is very quiet and peaceful, with a lovely friendly pub. We had a 2 lovely meals in there and tried some of the locally produced real ales.
Ideally situated for country walks, the owners have the maps of several walks locally within the information pack on the coffee table. It is also ideally situated to visit other places nearby, Buxton, Ashbourne, Matlock to name a few, and a lovely walk over to the beautiful village of Hartington.
We found some new friends at the house in the shape of 3 ducks and a peacock who has no tail feathers left!!! I loved the way they would stand outside the windows waiting for whatever we had to feed them with!!!
The house is a lovely cosy little cottage. Absolutely everything has been thought of for your comfort throughout your stay. Really comfortable beds, there was nothing we could complain about. We left at the end of the week totally relaxed and refreshed.
The only thing that was a bit of a drawback was the busy road. We didn't go down into the village for the pub on an evening, purely because we didn't feel safe enough to walk along the 515 in the dark.

Beautiful comfortable apartment. Easy parking. Well equiped kitchen. Heated well. Now has WiFi (via EE mobile-to-WiFi router). Good base for walking in South-East of the Peak District either direct from house or short drive. Pub within walking distance!
Farmyard immediately off A515; whilst I found it safe enough walking along verge to nearby paths some would be less happy. Road is quite quiet at night though. Could do with heavier duty blackout blinds on the bedroom skylights.

Hosts were lovely, cottage was clean, tidy and comfortable, even had a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival so we could have a much needed cuppa. Something to consider, would local pubs send a copy of menus so guests can browse menus if needed, 2 if my group are fussy eaters so we would have found it handy!
Everything was fantastic, no complaints. It was nice to get away from phones as we had limited signal and no wifi. Very quiet.
