Cosy Cottage. Just a small walk into the village & pub not far , lovely walks nearby
Because we stayed over Christmas. A nice touch would of been a Christmas 🎄 Tree & a few Christmas decorations

Excellent location, beautiful view from the garden . Everything you need in the kitchen. The bathroom was clean and beds were comfy . All in all a lovely little cottage in a beautiful village with shop cafe and pubs.
Chairs a little uncomfortable.

Good location we managed to park the car in front of the Cottage.
Te view from the balcony was absolutely stunning 🤩
The beds were really comfortable we had lovely nights of sleep.
The Cottage was really warm we had to put the temperature down a few times cause it’s is a really good cozy home.
The sofas were really comfortable and we had a lot of space for storage.
Unfortunately the plates had tomato stains under a few plates some cups had grease on it I had to wash everything we using in the kitchen before using them.
And the vacuum doesn’t work properly they definitely need a new one.
The bathroom toilet brush was really old and had no more bristles on it.
But the toilet was nice and clean!

The house was warm enough. Decent location.
The house was quite smelly and dingy overall. We had to clean all the pots and pans and plates etc as nothing had been cleaned very well. The beds were uncomfortable. We left after one night to stay elsewhere.

The only positive thing about the property is it’s location.
Unfortunately during our stay, we had frequent mice visits. Woken up during the night, by gnawing sounds and running back & forth underneath the floorboards of the bedrooms. Which disrupted our sleep and had a negative impact on our holiday.
I have been told via the customer services team of Skyes Cottage that I should expect an occasional visitor as it is an old cottage.
The customer service or lack of, has been extremely appalling. To not even receive an apology or any form of communication from the owner is disappointing.
The cleanliness of the property is awful.
Would most definitely NOT recommend staying here!

Centrally located in the village. Great outdoor space and view. Dog friendly garden, secure. Charlie, my daughters Cockapoo loved it
An Airbnb where the host doesn't restrict the heating to 20 degrees or less and allows you to be warm and cosy.
No loo paper! Just as well I wasn't caught short upon arrival. No bathroom products.
No scouring pad to be able to clean the battered frying pan.

Location, hot water and heating were good.
The filth and poor cleanliness. Don't believe anyone cleaned the property before our stay. Stunk of dog. Had to buy cleaning products and waste our time cleaning property before we could even unpack and relax. Cleaner needs sacking if one even exists. Seeds in bed, massive cobwebs. We even had to get out the hoover ourselves. Pretty poor for how much we were charged. We should be paid a cleaning fee as we made it much nicer for the next guests.

The cottage was extremely comfortable and very cosy.
The mixer taps of the bath and kitchen sink made it hard to adjust the temperature of the water, which meant wasting more water than necessary.

The cottage was in a great location. It was clean and had a well equipped kitchen with lovely views. The bedrooms were large and the bed we used very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and towels were provided. The living area was comfortable and cosy. Three eating pubs within walking distance and the area was central when visiting other villages and sight seeing areas. Would definitely recommend.

quaint little cottage. clean and tidy.
lacking in any type of comfort. old and musty smelling very small hard sofa. two dusty and stained chairs so totally inadequate seating. very basic furniture sourced from junk shops. unimaginable and boring what you would expect from student accommodation rentals. the towels supplied were mismatched and threadbare. if I’d had known I would have taken my own. the front bedroom bed was fitted with very old and limp pillows. no attention to comfort. there are definitely mice in the rafters as they could be heard scurrying around at night. and only one toilet roll supplied for a three night stay for more than one person? shame as lovely location. it felt like it was about income rather than guest comfort

perfect for a weekend break. Clean and had everything we needed. plus was nice and warm . great views .
would be even better with a larger quilt on the double bed.had a bit of an issue trying to keep the grill on and the oven needed a clean.

Had a text to say that the gas plumber was calling to do a gas check at 5pm from the cleaner. On arrival before 5pm gas plumber there and cottage smelling of gas.He was unable to resolve problem and informed gas company to come.No phone signal in the area and the plumber kindly drove to get a signal. We had no heating, hot water or cooker. We were unable to go out that evening. We needed to stay in the cottage until gas engineer came. Excellent service from gas company engineer gas leak found and metre had to be replaced.I feel this spoilt the start of the holiday and wish to be compensated for this.It would have been nice if the owner had kept us more informed.

Could do with another small 2 seater sofa in the living room.

Didn't see any staff so cannot comment.
The cottage is nice and so is the village. Very good cafes.
Lovely patio area but a parasol would have been useful.
A good location for exploring the area.
Could have been cleaner. Had to clean the filters for the hoover. That was disgusting.
The cottage is nice but I suspect it will be damp in poor weather.
Gas fire in living room is decorative only. No need for it during the heatwave and cottage has central heating.
Recommend you leave kitchen window closed at night otherwise lots of moths.
Watch your head on the doorways if you're over 5ft 7inches!

Beautiful scenery for walking.
Everything was lovely.

The location was excellent as was central to most areas in Peak District with plenty of surrounding walking areas. Lovely cottage with a lovely outside area to sit and eat etc whilst enjoying the views. Clean, tidy and dog friendly. Good outside parking area.
The bedroom with the street facing view had a rather uncomfortable bed.

Wonderful views, nice clean cottage in a great location.
It seems a shame not to provide the extra sofa, new pans and better mattresses that could make this property excellent.

Reasonable price. Close to scenic places
seating in living area not very comfortable and some cushions for the kitchen chairs would be good

Nice and warm. Lots of hot water. Carpet in bedrooms and sitting room made it cosy. Lovely terrace and view. Fresh milk provided was a welcome touch. Great village.
Some additional blankets would have been useful. We struggled to get the telly to work.

Beautiful location in a small village.
Friendly locals in pubs and shop
It was a bit dark inside, especially in the kitchen at nighttime..definitely needs a better light when preparing/cooking meals

Good location. Village well served by shop and 3 pubs with good food especially The Bull. Views from the back of the property over the valley was stunning.
House warmed up quickly as we were there over a cold snap. Very handy for all areas of the peak district.
We struggled with the TV controls, finding it difficult to get anything at all. Some instructions would have been handy. We did get it going after a few attempts.
Also an extra sofas would have been more comfortable than the 2 chairs.
A busy road so we were a bit nervous about parking on the road but it was fine.

reasonably comfortable

Great small cottage. Range of cookwear, clean environment and bedding. Warm and snug.
The location was very convenient for what we wanted to visit. It's on road parking. Highly recommend the Bull Inn for dinner
The sofa was relatively comfortable but the chairs were small with insufficient head support. The front bedroom bed mattress was very hard which I personally found uncomfortable.
