Tissington Cottage- Darwin Lake Holiday Village

Nicely positioned cottage fronting onto the lake. Good parking. Plenty of room and nicely decorated. Good layout, with an en suite, bathroom and downstairs toilet. Good kitchen facilities. Good heating. TVs & WiFi.

Floorboards upstairs and particularly in the main bedroom were very creaky and noisy to the point of disturbing everyone if someone got up during the night. The holiday village itself seemed a little unloved, though clean and tidy everywhere, it just seemed deserted and a little lifeless. Ideal if you want a quiet place to stay but just felt the place wasn’t being used to its full potential.

The location was lovely and fishing from the door step of the cottage was a treat. The cottage being at the end of the path offered abit more privacy. The cottage was nice. I can imagine it being very cosy in the winter. The view is the luxury part of this accommodation.

The cottage was great, however it does need some maintenance work, especially in the bathrooms. I would also say that the cleaning in some areas needs a look over. The lake needs some attention. The water is dirty and it has some kind of oil on the surface. ( I was told I would be able to swim in the lake). I cant imagine anyone wanting to do that. The surroundings are beautiful so we took ourselves on a walk. Very sad to see burnt mattresses within the forest area. Noisy guests from another cottage ruined the peace and tranquility. Email Communication broke down once I booked through booking.com. Great Communication before when there was a chance of me booking direct with them.

Fantastic, peaceful area. Lovely , walk things to do within the setting.

Very uncomfortable bed. Only a single plug socket available in the bedroom. Noise from other people carries well around the setting, should they chose to make a lot of noise

Beautifully presented and very clean in a lovely quiet location. Ideally situated.
