Close to the river, and walks. Really lovely village.
If a property charges this amount of money then you expect significantly better attention to detail. We also had to wait for 3 hours after checkin to get the key code.
It needs to make the access to the property more clear, as it isn’t easily accessible for people with mobility issues.
No towels or toiletries. Advertises a log burner but no fuel. Cigarette butts outside the front door. Smelt like a hamster cage when you walked in.

The cottage is very homely and comfortable with all the cooking utensils you need. It is located at the heart of Youlgreave, where it is easy to walk down to the river, have a swim and venture on long walks! The town is only a short walk away and Bakewell is a short car journey away. The locals are very friendly and the natural views are beautiful!
The parking is a little bit tricky, however eventually we managed to find a good place to park which wasn't too far from the cottage.

Rustic and quaint, clean.
No car access. On bottom of very steep hill. Also steep stairs and no hand rail.

Although on a hill with access restrictions and parking restrictions, the village is in a good location for the Peak District.
- Had to purchase own toilet roll and kitchen roll.
- No tea or coffee supplied.
- Uncleaned and moldy oven from previous guests.

Lovely location, good walks from the door.
It was extremely difficult to park in the village, and as a result luggage and shopping had to be carried a long way.

The property was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The beds were comfy and warm.
Access down the steep lane was nor made clear to us, thank goodness it wasn’t icy or we would not have made it from the road down the lane. Lugging suitcases up and down was not easy. The radiator in the main bedroom didn’t work nor did the one in the bathroom.
On the last night we bought a frozen fish pie to eat in but struggled with the oven, it would only give out a lukewarm heat. By 8.30 pm it was still not working so we decided to drive to Bakewell and find some hot food which fortunately we did in the restaurant where we had eaten the previous evening, other venues we tried were all booked up or had finished serving.
I left a message on the owner’s phone early that evening asking for instructions on the oven, she contacted me last night when we had arrived back home. There were no instructions about the cottage we could find in the cottage.
The weather was very cold and we did need a bit more heat, also we would have lit the fire if there had been any fuel….
Very pretty area but lacked final polish on accommodation.

perfect location beautiful view
obviously the walk down to property is a bit scary and the on street parking is an issue there is a car park at the end of the village but we couldn’t get our camper van in to it as we were too high for it

Lovely little cottage, very cosy. The facilities were good with everything we needed.
The very steep pathway to the cottage was an issue as the bad weather made the slope very slippery when carrying bags down from the car. Could have cleaned with a bit more care.

Beautiful location. Lovely cosy cottage with everything you would need for a short stay.
Anyone who is not completely robust on their feet would find the walk to and from the road to the cottage a struggle. It’s not a long walk. Just very steep.
