The location was nice and quiet.
The door to the property was tight in the frame it needed a shove, the toilet door didn't close meaning the lock on the out side of the door didn't work. The pungent smell of sewers or septic tank was to much for us and you can smell this from the bed. This was put us off straight away!
The TV came on then it crashed and made a horrible noise and looked like I was resetting itself but after 15 minutes it never came back on.
The log burner didn't stay lit after several attempts and multiple firelighters.
It was 0 degrees outside, we was sat looking at the bed with what seemed a thin quilt on it thinking when this fire goes out in the night we'll be freezing in here, there needed to be a oil radiator or heater with a thermostat on it to keep you warm throughout the night.
The path wasnt lit and the thought of having a shower with no heating in there just put us off.
All in all we went to sit in the warm car and thought we cannot stay here especially with the smell of other people's waste 🤢 so we left.
No refund offered or even addressed the toilet issue, all we got from the owners was "the TV could of been fixed and we would of got the fire going for you" fair enough but for £163 you expect a bit better.
We complained to booking.com and conveniently the owners didnt answer the phone to them to resolve the issues
We went to stay in a beautiful countryside hotel for less than what this cost us.
I've requested booking.com to visit this site and see for themselves.

Second time staying here the remoteness and natural beauty is spectacular
Only issue we had was the battery running out in the shower light

Quiet scenic location
Hard to find in the dark. No insulation so it was very cold at night and there were no additional blankets. Outside shower was cold and light was hard to find especially in the dark.

Location was beautiful and the hut was cosy and comfy. The outside of the hut was a little scruffy and would benefit from a little spruce up but that being said enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Lovely communication from hosts prior ro stay.
As it is so far from shops a few more tea bags, coffee and milk sachets would have been nice - only 2 of each.

Was very comfortable with absolutely beautiful surroundings.
Was really nice to sit outside with a drink just watching the sheep in the quiet.
Quite close to places if you need a shop, pubs/restaurants or takeaway food.
Very nice place

So many things! The space, the atmosphere, the location, the peacefulness, the beautiful views, the cleanliness, the help from the owners, everything about this place is amazing
No complaints at all.

Great location — a very secluded spot on a local farm with no reception, which makes the experience truly unique. The hut is beautifully maintained and cared for, clearly showing the love and hard work Darren and Diana put into it. The beds were comfortable, and despite the -1ºC temperatures outside, the cosy woodburner kept the space warm. Would definitely stay again
Nothing out of the ordinary. Guests should be aware that they are booking a small hut on a working farm, so it’s important to keep in mind that this is nothing like staying at a hotel (for example, you’ll need to walk to the shower cabin even if it’s raining). If this kind of experience is what you’re looking for, you’ll absolutely love it

Pretty location. Lovely and quiet. Near to an excellent gastro pub. The owners were friendly and very helpful. The hut itself was cosy, warm, well furnished, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable.
There was nothing I did not like. In terms of improvements, I'd possibly suggest hot water in the sink above the toilet.

Interior not too bad, maybe for one night
The toilet did smell a fair bit in the hut, and the surrounding land was unkept, the bbq was not functional and the utensils were left one the grill with residue of food

Location is stunning. Lovely views.
Be aware there is absolutely no mobile phone reception, so if your taxi doesn't arrive you may have to rely on the kindness of a passers-by.
There were some biscuits, teas and coffees in the hut which was nice.
Owners were very accommodating with the check-in time, so if it doesn't fit with your plans please don't rule it out before contacting them. Great communication too. Thank you.
There was only a single mug and no teaspoon which we wished we'd noticed the day before we made a cup of tea in bed, to see if there were more in the kitchen (we didn't visit the kitchen hut).

Stayed there just one night with my 13 year old step son.
Walked through the local hills and visited a local pub.
The hut is great, perfect for a night or two.
We had a brilliant time.

Location was amazing and the fact that there was no wifi connection made it more enjoyable

The surroundings are beautiful, unfortunately we had a lot of rain so we couldn’t eat outside and use the bbq.
The shepherds hut is cosy and warm due to the wood stove, with a toilet inside.
The mattresses are great.
In case of rain you can’t eat in the kitchen with the whole family, it would be great to have more space to eat together and do some games.
The top bunk beds have nog railings and are very narrow so our son fell out of bed.

Beautiful surroundings! So peaceful. I love that the property had character. They've built something very special here.... A little retreat away from busy life!
There was no fridge, nor ice in the cool box. But we only stopped for one night so it wasn't a problem.

It was a lovely experience to stay in a shepherds hat.
I didn’t like the fact there was no signal and no internet.

Great location for our Alton Towers trip. The children loved the playground and animals. Very cosy and clean inside.
Main hut could use a bin and the bunk bed in the main hut was too high for the children to use

the views are fab. loved the fire. the little hob works a treat! comfy sofa. fire pit if it wasn’t as windy would have been fab.
kitchen walls filled with damp. wallpaper peeling off and a toilet flush hung on the wall which made the smell worse. path goes to the end then walk over muddy part to the stairs to enter. even just a paving stone there would help cut down the muddiness of shoes. no phone connection and I left my two children away with no way of contacting me. I must have not paid attention to it being completely off grid. the toilet walls can be seen through and I couldn’t get it out of my head that the place would be full of poop particles. such a lovely location and hit. with a bit more tlc it could be an excellent spot. phone numbers I. the welcome book but no way to call as no signal seemed a bit pointless.

Lovely little hut, was very cosy with the fire lit! everything you could want for a countryside getaway… off grid which makes a nice change, but there’s a good TV inside. Recommend taking some board games to play too.
I don’t think the shower had a light? And no matches left in the hut but luckily we brought a lighter. Could create a “what 3 words” location for the welcome text so that stayers know exactly where to go.

Secluded and unusual. Loved the log burner once it got going.
Could’ve done with better auto lighting on arrival.
