Highlea House

The communication & welcome was really lovely. Gorgeous Georgian style sitting room with high ceilings. Free car parking on street nearby on steep hill. This lovely old guesthouse building is in a quiet area of Weston Super Mare and off the main drag. This was definitely our favourite end of town. The Criterion pub is a lovely friendly local nearby. Dining room & patio is lovely. Cleanliness is good and they have thought about the functionality unlike some hotels eg:- plug sockets near bed with extension leads, long mirror in bedroom, great size wardrobe, fan (we found at end of stay inside wardrobe), coffee mugs instead of small cups, biscuits are a lovely touch with bottles of water. Dog friendly property & we had a ground floor room for easy in/out with dog which was very thoughtful. We would definitely stay again. Next time we shall have breakfast there, it smelt delicious.

Mattress was personally too soft for us & hard to get out of. Shower holder was broken. Bedroom & bathroom very warm. Wifi didn't work on my phone but wasn't a big deal. TV came on randomly in the middle of the night??

Lovely hosts, breakfast was enough to keep you going all day. Room was basic but beds were comfortable. Not too far from main town.

The choice of parking nearby £7 a day or a steep hill, we are the wrong side of 70.
