Lauriston Hotel Ideal hotel for Weston stay.

Location by the beach, at tge right end for the Grand Pier, shops and restaurants, and The Playhouse Theatre is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The free carpark at the hotel was a bonus. The cooked breakfast was fantastic.

Only cooks evening meals if there is a coach party booked in. But JD Wetherspoons is right across the road, and The Thatched Cottage Restaurant next door to the Lauriston. So not a real problem.

Comfortable and will be coming again next year

I couldn’t fault this hotel. In my opinion, it feels more like a 4‑star than a 3‑star. The staff were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was good — everything you’d expect. On our last morning we had to leave early and didn’t need breakfast, but they kindly offered us a takeaway option, which I thought was very accommodating. Parking can be a bit hit‑and‑miss as there aren’t many spaces, but they arranged a spot for us in their overflow car park at the back.

There was nothing i didnt like. The only thing I would mention is that the room could have done with some fresh water in the room.

Low price, friendly staff

The number of parking spaces is quite limited. I ended up squeezing onto a grass verge. The actual frustrating part is that there is space that is purely decorative which could be turned into parking spaces - the thing they need even more than some decorative grassy area.

Fabulous friendly welcoming hotel

Very friendly staff welcoming spotlessly clean everywhere. Large bedroom really comfortable beds, lovely and warm throughout the whole hotel.

On the whole excellent stay great staff excellent position

To hot at night no way to turn down the heating. Noisy at night due to traffic and boy racers outside the hotel domaine. Could hear other guests walking around upstairs. I was led to believe that there was plenty of parking at the hotel which swayed me to stay here however in reality the car park is small and totally fully all day you cannot rely on getting a parking space

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Lauriston as usual, we will be coming back next time we visit.

The location is excellent with parking, which is one of the reasons we stay there. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is very good and the staff friendly and polite. We stay there quite often.

The only thing I couldn't understand was why, when the hotel was not very busy that the car park was full.

Excellent value

Ease of parking, location, great staff and excellent value for money. Little things like having oat milk , decent biscuits and fair trade coffee in the room were very much appreciated. Our bed was super comfy, and the room was clean and comfortable.

The only negative thing was that the charging plugs were on the headboard and our multi plugs wouldn't fit as the mattress was in the way. All the other plugs were blanked off - although on the last morning I found a distribution board behind the television, but it was a bit late by then. First world problem, and didn't spoil our stay.

Care home vibes!

The breakfast was the only real saving grace.

How to put this politely……the minute you walked through the door there was an awful smell of cooking. Terrible decor, peeing paper and paintwork and extremely dirty looking carpets. The room was not pleasant and most definitely not worth the money. The radiator did not work and we were given an electric heater to use. The window was so high up and had a dressing table in front of it and you had to stand on a chair to reach it (and I am not short).

Definitely in need of a refurb...

Staff were very lovely and helpful.

First room I was put in was okay, simple, but warm and clean. However, the curtain was broken and it was on the ground floor. I subsequently requested a new room as I didn't want everyone in the car park to see me get changed. Staff were lovely and offered me a new room. The new room was not lovely like the staff.... Ancient yellow wallpaper was peeling from the walls; there was a thick layer of dust and damage to the skirting board in every corner; the mattress was just springs and felt about 20 years old; it was a twin and one of the beds was stained with what looked like mascara all over the sheets; the bathroom was cold and the shower had barely any power; even one of the teaspoons on the tea tray had a crust of dirt all over the handle..... It was certainly an interesting place to stay....

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room itself was clean as was the bathroom.

Hotel very tired and with peeling paint and dated carpets. In need of a thorough refresh. Torn net curtains. Our room was on the first floor but there were steps to negotiate even though we requested a low floor room. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food or dining and bar area. Expensive for a basic room with no view.

Staff . Big clean room. Lift . Close to pub and beach.

Lift to small for my wheel chair. We come here 4 times a year as a stop of before we go to devon. Always had a good breakfast. This time we left it. It was cold and to over cooked
