Avoid rooms overlooking SAS (Pub/Club)

Location is superb.

Stayed here before and gave good ratings, however, Room 107 and being kept awake until after 3am by the pub/club opposite - by the time people had departed it was after 3.30am, I had to leave the hotel at 0730am, made this the worst nights rest ever!

Great to stay in a traditional English beach front hotel. Lots of traditional building features.

Location and car park. Close to beach and in the ctr of town. Large car park. Lots of character about the building. I would stay again.

Entrance for the bar was a bit windy when the door to the car park was opened and closed but not too terrible.

Nice enough hotel but very noisy neighbours

The room was a good size and was clean. It was a great location as far as being right by the seafront and next to the shopping centre. The lady on check in was very nice and polite.

The mattress was very old and uncomfortable, the duvet was bearly big enough for the bed. Saturday night the pub opposite had loud music and shouting drunks until 2am and there was still audible music from somewhere at 4am, so we didn't sleep well at all.

Breky asked for some yogurt and was told they had none had to wait to 9 oclock to go to the shop that never happened .but why run out ! That is all I eat will not be ordering breky again

Creaking Floorboards. No glasses in bathroom. Being asked to "wait to be seated" by a sign in the dining room but no one being in attendance to direct you to a seat.

Out dated, poor quality bedding. Club and pub noise until after 2am. Shower scolding hot half way through the shower, then freezing cold and back to scolding hot. Luckily my son did not shower first.

Location and parking were both good for a weekend stay Room was a decent size for a family of 4 - double bed with bunk beds and Sea View.

Room 216 was very poor, majority of the rooms in the whole hotel in desperate need of updating. Carpet extremely worn to the point of tripping over in parts at side of bed, curtains were ill fitting with holes in letting a lot of light in, also above kitchen so very noisy. Bed very springy not very comfortable. Electric heater dangerous, PAT testing 10 months out of date, front of socket came off in hand and was sparking when plugged in. Shower was borderline dangerous, scalding hot at times / freezing cold. Sink unit needs replacing, as does tiling and where dispenser is. Stayed room only as breakfast is not worth it. Not worth £135 per night for state of room. Could be so much nicer if looked after.

Brilliant, everything spot on, had a great stay.

Comfy room, felt at home. Best things, location, (we went to a show at the Playhouse), really close to shops, and beachfront at the same time. Water, lashings of hot water, literally on tap!

A couple of extra plug sockets wouldn't have gone amiss.

Passable but the initial impression flatters to deceive.

Friendly and helpful staff. Efficient check in and out. Marvellous and impressive building, particularly the grand staircase which lifted the whole experience. A shame that this splendid feature has been partioned, probably for some functional reason I imagine.

Quite noisy, creaking floorboards, sound insulation was a bit poor, other guests/staff were a bit noticeable although not disturbingly so. En suite was very tired looking, despite the copious amateurish applications of sealant the shower still leaked! Quite visibly marred by brownish limescale which created an uncared for environment. The functioning of all the facilities was good apart from the sink which was extremely slow to drain. And quite pricey.

Disappointing for the money.

Great location.

The room was poor quality, the decor was aged and in need of an upgrade. Wallpaper peeling off and even graffiti on the wall. The carpet was dirty and stained, the bathroom window could not be closed so quite cold. We was Overlooking the service yard where staff went out for a smoke and other work related jobs was going on. Not quiet at all and as for trying to get some sleep, impossible with the green light from the exit door so bright that it affected our sleep plus also it reflected the mirror making it even brighter than it should have been. Not impressed at all.

Enjoyable stay at the Royal Hotel

Excellent location for both the town and seafront. I liked the room 205 was light and plenty of room to walk around. Plenty of hot water whenever needed. There was a fan available in the room. Housekeeping and a well stocked hospitality tray. Appreciated an earlier check-in.

Could have done with more coat hangers in wardrobe as only 4 provided.

Central, good parking, comfortable room, poor noisy bar facilities

Car parking good with lots of available spaces. Check in fine and directed to our room. Quite twisty but only short distance upstairs. Room was large with large bathroom and separate shower. At the back so quite quiet, bed comfortable and tea making facilities provided.

Ate out at local diner and we returned to have drink in the bar. Unfortunately shortly after getting drinks found football on both screens on both sides of the room with guests literally shouting and cheering. Impossible to talk or think so had to move out. No one suggested them being quieter. Found another closed bar down the corridor and after sitting for a little while they turned the lights out on us! Sitting in the dark with nowhere else to go went to bed. We didn't have breakfast.

bed was too small for us, We were going to visit the next door Wetherspoons for our Sunday evening meal, but noticed the Sunday lunches looked very good, and the food was reasonably priced, so we decided to stay there for our meal. there were another 2 tables being served while we were there most of the food was returned uneaten. when we our meal came (Belly pork on mashed potato, and gravy) there was actually ice in the mash. we returned it and it returned boiling hot, and quite nice actually. It may have been an off night for the chef, but i wont chance it again.

Perfect location

The location is perfect for our needs we were taking part in Weston Supermare Shanty and Folk Festival. Comfortable and even ear plugs for the noise from SASS nightclub. The staff were lovely, especially Sandie in the Restaurant who went the extra mile to make sure our lunch was perfect when we arrived.

The room was fine. The bathroom was fine except the little strip at the bottom of the shower screen. That was horrible and let's the rest down a bit. Despite that little thing, we had a great weekend. Thank you
